TITLE

CAUSE OF DELAY IN CONSTRUCTION PROJECT CONDUCTED BY


CONTRACTORS : KLIA 2

INTRODUCTION

In the problem of delay in construction project is a normal phenomena that will


happen in world wide. For example the Doha airport changed its opening date many
times and now has fixed it for 2017. So have the authorities in Germany who have
delayed fixing the date for the opening of the Berlin airport thus far despite Germany
being known for its machine-like efficiency. Kuala Lumpur International Airport 2
(KLIA 2) the main contractor is Malaysia Airport Holding Bhd ( MAHB) which is
join venture with UEMC-Bina Puri.

construction is based on three factor , that are : human management factor , process
factor and also contract and technique factor that causes the delay in construction
project.

RESEARCH OBJECTIVE

The main objective in doing this research is find out what is cause of delay in
construction and to prevent it will happen when it have another huge project and will
not happen it again
PROBLEM STATEMENT

1. What is the problem that contractor of klia 2 have faced and did they manage to
solve it .
2. What is the relationship with project management in the contractor and the
process of management in contracting the KLIA2
SCOPE OF STUDY

In this research, I will identify the cause of delay of a project conducted by the
contractor in KLIA 2.
The problem that the contractor have faced during the process of project management
and also site issue that they have faced.

RESEARCH METHODLOGY
There are too many cause of delaying of an huge project which conducted by the
contractor that build the KLIA 2. But to faced the problem and it would effect the
delivery time to the client which need a lot of project management skills in it. One of
the main problem of delaying a project which conducted by the contractor is the skills
of project management. To occur this problem we needed alot of research
methodology. We need to divided out the work frame and set the time limit for the
worker.
EXPECTED OUTCOME
The expected outcome of this case study is to minimize the problem that have faced
and minimize the failure in the project. In a mega project such as KLIA 2 that there
were no 0% of failure in it, so based to the project management and the experience
that gain we will minimize the failure.
