o I will start out by explaining that we will work with
numbers to learn something new called adding and
subtracting. Then we will start with some games.
Introduction
o Go through counting, one to ten.
o Work with counting on fingers to do basic math.
Ex. "Put up 2 fingers on 1 hand, 3 on the other.
Put them together. How many does that make?"

Warm up with standing up and forming groups.

Do math by adding smaller groups to make larger
groups.
o Students will count out how many
students are in each group.
Get them to realize that they've been doing
math for a while, just without realizing.
Body Do the worksheet. Dice addition.
- Each student will do a roll of 2 dice.
- The students will then count how many dots
are one 1 die and record it, then the other.
- They will then combine those 2 numbers
together to add up to the final amount.

I will ask the students what they enjoyed from the activity and discuss with the
Closure students that they will learn more about this next year in Grade 1.
