Paper Title

Why should a murderer have an opportunity for a fair trial when the victims were not

given a fair life? An individual that commits an unusual cruel act should be given a cruel

punishment, regardless the age. The family members of the victim should be given more

consideration than the offender that committed the senseless crime.

Someone raised in a family of dysfunction and abuse should not be given special

treatment if they were capable of murdering an innocent human being. Although, they might not

have the maturity and capacity to understand the consequences to their action, they should have

enough capacity to not want to kill another person. In some cases these adolescents came from

privilege. When he got in trouble, his parents fixed it (Jenkins). This boy knew that killing is

wrong but thought if he did it mommy and daddy would help him get out of it. The 17 year

old has a plan to set off a bomb a mall or kill some of his peers and teachers and he is going in

with the intention to murder. This being said, he should get a life sentence because in this case

he is is aware of what he is doing. No matter what his home life was there is no excuse for the

crime he will commit. There is help that he can get for these thoughts.

If the adolescent can commit a heinous crime he deserves a life sentence he is not only

killing one or two innocent people, but is willing to murder a group of people. Is he is sentenced

to life he is not getting an cruel punishment he is getting what he deserves. How can one kill no

matter what the age? For instance Bryan knew he was going in to kill Cassie. He went in

knowing there was going to be a consequence, but he still did it. He deserves to serve a life

sentence even if he feels sorry for what he did and figures out that what he did was unforgivable.

The heinous crimes committed should have a life in prison.

Some may say that he isnt mentally stable, but if he can plan a murder out theyre pretty

smart and should know the consequences of their action. They know there will be a consequence

to what theyre about to do. At 17 you know right from wrong and this adolescent is just asking

to be punished. There is no reasoning for him to bomb a mall full of innocent people. He should

be serving a life sentence for all the lives that he has stolen. Others may say that these kids could

be rehabilitated but they may still have those thoughts. You can never know if theyre fully

clean from thoughts of murder. We are not safe if these adolescents are not sentenced for life.
