Would Jesus Have a Selfie Stick?

Imagine if Jesus was on Earth today - how fast could he spread his message?
Platforms like Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc.
How many of you would follow or friend him?
Are you brave enough to do so, in a world where being a follower of Christ is labelled uncool
and too old-fashioned?
We have morphed into a self-centric society - so many people cant look past the tips of their
noses to see the problems the world has today.
Tools like social media being used for poor purposes - compliment fishing, obsession with
me.
To adults in congregation - what would your parents think about a tool that only took pictures
of you everywhere?
America has fallen to a place where God isnt our top priority - everything has become about
me.
In every single great American conflict, our country was led by a man who placed his faith in
God to lead his nation to victory, and this faith has allowed us 240 years of freedom.
Our founding fathers built this country on the basis of neighbors helping each other, and
placing the needs of a community before the needs of yourself.
And our nation was not only built on the belief of people working together, but also on the
ethics and morals of the Bible, and on the relationship with an everlasting, ever-loving God.
And to those who complain, saying Our government has no place in religious beliefs, it should
be noted that the government shall not intervene with the practice of any religion. Christ was
a prominent figure in the founding of our country, as [read list] were all Christians that knew
the future of our country lay in our relationship with Christ.

George Washington
And numerous other signatories of the Declaration of Independence
Through our countrys greatest trials, we have stood by God and triumphed, so why dont we
continue to do so?
The reason lies in that God is not convenient - He wont say Alright Sam, Ill be sure to give
you some miracles between the hours of 2 and 4 today. It isnt that easy - youre placing faith
in someone you cant see.

Also, sometimes its kind of humiliating and humbling. Someone died for our sins, and that
someone was the son of the Creator of the Universe. Its hard to think that we were - and still
are - so awful that the life of the greatest man ever to grace the Earth was spent.
What our country needs today to truly restore its former glory is to stop turning away from God
and begin to embrace him again.
