As a result of this lesson, students will be able to:


Demonstrate the ability to develop and interpret geographical questions in a geographical inquiry research
task
Show they can read and interpret data and features of Ariel maps, including satellite with Google Maps and
Google Earth
Demonstrate the ability to plan and organise information for the geographical inquiry using the mind-mapping
tool Coggle.

Teacher has prepared a Weebly website (with all the pages) Students are given the opportunity to work together,
for the students to access. which promotes their peer learning and mentoring.
Write Weebly URL up on the board so the class can access
it: The ICT tools chosen and demonstrated allow success
Weebly: http://analarahass.weebly.com for students with beginning or advanced content
comprehension.
Teacher has set up all the links for the students to follow as
ICT tools are introduced to the class.

Students are invited into class with their ICT devices, and will be asked to

Along with the Weebly, the teacher will introduce and explain the
Geographical Investigation that will be spread over the next 4 lessons.

In pairs, the students will act as Geographical Investigators, where the
task asks them to investigate one of Australias Landforms. It will be
explained to them that by the end of the fourth lesson they will have
completed a digital poster to present their findings during their
investigation.

On the Weebly, Students will be directed to the Lesson 1 page where http://analarahass.weebly.c
there is an easy to follow breakdown of todays lesson. om

They will be told the focus questions for today, which they must answer
along the way:

throughout the lesson)

The teacher will demonstrate the use of Google Earth to the students,
where they will be looking up the various landforms listed on the Weebly
page.

Students will be reminded how to use the digital tool Coogle to create
mind maps. It will be instructed that the students must this as their Coggle:

- Students will also be instructed to submit their work they have done in
class through their groups Padlet Page by the end of the lesson.
- Students will be instructed that the Padlet Page is there for them to
20 Mins come back to every lesson and add information and edit each lesson.

Research Activity
Students will now put all instructions into practice.
Students will choose which landform from the list they are going to
investigate.
- They will spend 20 minutes planning and researching their chosen Padlet:
landform and will answer the Geographical Inquiry Focus Question given https://padlet.com/laraellen

Students are to individually reflect on the lesson/ day 1 of the


investigation.
- They will use Google Docs on the Weebly website to create a document
to record each reflection.
They will be instructed: Google Document:
1) Each reflection is to be dated and must answer the reflection questions https://docs.google.com/do

something interesting I learnt today?; What is something I want to find out
more about?

2) This document is to shared with the teacher using the teachers email
