A. CONTENT STANDARDS The learner understands that mastery of the basic forms,
types, techniques and devices of Creative Nonfiction
enables him/her to effectively critique and write Creative
Nonfiction.
B. PERFORMANCE STANDARDS The learner understands that mastery of the basic forms,
types, techniques and devices of Creative Nonfiction
enables him/her to effectively critique and write Creative
Nonfiction.
C. LEARNING COMPETENCIES/ 1. Explain a well-written sample of a creative

for each) 2. reflect of the implications of the given text;
3. construct a one paragraph reaction on the
content presented.
IV. PROCEDURES:
A. INTRODUCTION:
Communicate the objectives. Introduce the concept of well-written creative
nonfictional text.
B. MOTIVATION
Show a sample well-crafted nonfictional text for the students to analyze.
C. (DEVELOPMENT OF THE LESSON) 4As
a. ACTIVITY:
Let the students generate their own understanding as to how the paragraph was
constructed.
b. ANALYSIS
Have them a closer view on its forms, types, devices and techniques used in
developing the creative nonfictional paragraph.
The teacher will give direct instruction on the concept of well-written creative
nonfictional text.
c. ABSTRACTION
Read a narrative paragraph (creative nonfiction text) and let the students
identify the elements.
d. APPLICATION/EVALUATION:
In a group of 5 members, the students shall perform an exchanging things
activity.
Each team must provide a short nonfictional text and have it be given to the
other groups.
Whoever (in a group basis) receives the chosen nonfictional text, the team is
entitled to make a written reaction based on their gained understanding from
the text. The analyses of the text are limited only on the following scope:
a. Forms
b. Types
c. Devices
d. Techniques
