How to learn this program:
First, read this program. Then find someone who will be a volunteer to receive the hand massage. Follow along with the massage
summary below for a reminder. After practicing just a few times it will become second nature.

The massage sequence has 7 parts:

(1) Forearm Squeezing

(2) Hand/Arm Swaying

(3) Palm of hand squeezing

(4) Massaging the V between the thumb and pointer finger

(5) Massaging the center of the palm

(6) Rubbing your palms together over each finger

(7) Finger pulling

Repeat this on the other hand.

Once you do the massage a few times it will become second nature.

Note: The images in this program are from the video course. Sometimes we have switched from left to right hands or changed angles
to get the best view of the technique. Remember that you start on one hand and do all the techniques. Then switch to the other hand.

If you would like the video course, or to attend a live class, visit https://womenandcouples.com/classes for details.

VERY IMPORTANT POINTS BEFORE
YOU BEGIN:
Even if your friend has already agreed to have a hand massage - before you start ask the
person receiving the massage again if its OK.

Ask them to tell you what feels good and particularly if anything hurts or doesnt feel good.
Check/ask if they have arthritis, or any injuries before you start.

If at any time they want to stop stop.

Tell them this is completely for their enjoyment and relaxation, and it will be better if they tell you
what feels best.

Tell them youre first going to go through the general routine & then can go back and repeat what
feels good.

Remind them to keep their arms relaxed and keep checking. Theyll enjoy it more if they do, but
most have the habit of staying tense.

If the person receiving the massage has any large rings they should take them off if they seem
like theyll get caught in the rubbing motion.

The hand massage step by step
First, ask your friend to make sure they want a hand massage. If possible have them sit in a comfortable chair that their arm is
supported by an armrest or similar setup. Start with either hand just make sure to do the other hand as well.

(1) Forearm Squeezing

Grasp with both hands around their wrist just above the hand and squeeze firmly (but make sure it isnt too hard). Ask them to tell you if
they want you to squeeze harder or more lightly. Continue squeezing and opening your hands as you slowly work your way up their
forearm to their elbow. Then work from their elbow back down to the wrist. Repeat this ~10 times. Ask them to relax their arm and
shoulders. Gently sway their arm every now and then to make sure it isnt stiff. If it is stiff, ask them to relax their arms again.

Copyright 2017 Women and Couples Wellness, LLC womenandcouples.com Page 9 of 39

Keep working up and down their forearm longer if they say it feels really good.

Copyright 2017 Women and Couples Wellness, LLC womenandcouples.com Page 10 of 39

(2) Hand/Arm Swaying
Grasp their hand like you would if you were shaking their hand and gently rock their hand back and forth while slightly lifting it up so it
causes the whole arm to move off gently off the arm rest. While you are doing this remind them again to relax their whole arm.
Many people will stay tense which reduces the benefits. Do this for 30 - 60 seconds.

Note: this photo is of the other arm stay with the same hand for each sequence, then switch to the other hand.

(3) Palm of hand squeezing
With their palm facing up place your hands (with your palms facing up) under their hand. Squeeze each of your hands around the
fleshy parts of their hand starting up at the wrist and working down to where you squeeze the base of the fingers. Repeat ~10 times
this making sure to squeeze all the areas of the hand.

You also can grasp the hand from below and squeeze the palm.

Copyright 2017 Women and Couples Wellness, LLC womenandcouples.com Page 13 of 39

(4) Massaging the V between the thumb and pointer finger
Cradle their hand with one of your hands while placing the thumb of your other hand (of the hand thats free) in the fleshy part of their
hand between their thumb and pointer finger. Firmly (make sure you ask its not too hard) squeeze your thumb down on their area
while grasping from below with your other fingers. Rub in a circular pattern for about ~30 seconds.

Copyright 2017 Women and Couples Wellness, LLC womenandcouples.com Page 14 of 39

(5) Massaging the center of the palm
Lift their hand up with one of your hands while placing your thumb (of the other hand thats free) in the center of their palm while the rest
of your hand grasps around their hand. Firmly (make sure you ask if youre pressing too hard) squeeze your thumb down on the center
of their palm their area and rub in a small circle. Rub in a circular pattern for about ~30 seconds.

Heres a different angle on rubbing the center of the palm (rub as firmly as your partner likes)

Repeat the above Palm of hand squeezing: (thats step 3)
With their palm facing down place your hands (with your palms facing up) under their hand. Squeeze both of your hands around the
fleshy parts of their hand starting up at the wrist and working down to where you squeeze the base of the fingers. Repeat about ~10
times making sure to squeeze all the areas of the hand.

Copyright 2017 Women and Couples Wellness, LLC womenandcouples.com Page 17 of 39

(6) Rubbing your palms together over each finger
Note: this motion is similar to what you would do if you were cold and wanted to briskly rub your hands together to warm them. Also,
ask the person if they have arthritis or any injuries to their joints and avoid any sore areas. If possible, have their elbow rest on the arm
rest. Pick up their hand and then place their thumb between each palm. At this point you are holding their hand up by the finger
pressed between the palms of your hands. Begin slowly and gently rubbing your palms together so it causes a slight twisting motion on
their finger. Increase pressure of your palms and speed and make sure to ask the person receiving the massage how it feels as you
increase speed and pressure. Start out slow, and increase to the degree that the receiver says feels good. Continue doing this for ~30
seconds. Repeat this for each finger. Well show several fingers on the next few pages. The thumb is below.

(7) Finger pulling

While holding the persons hand with one of your hands, use the other hand to grasp the receivers little finger at its base. Squeeze and
pull outward till your hand comes off their thumb. Repeat this 10 times on the little finger. Then repeat the process on each finger.
Gently place their hand and arm back on the arm rest.

Other Wellness Programs Sensory Meditation

No time? Constantly stressed? Need

Clarity? Sensory Meditation can help
and it feels good.
Sensory Meditation is an easy to learn technique that helps you quickly relax
and reduce stress. Its also the starting point for getting to know yourself on a much
deeper level. Sensory Meditation draws from many eastern meditations.

These practices are very powerful, however people in the west often have difficulty
with concepts like chi or energy because they have no idea what it means.

With Sensory Meditation, instead of describing something in metaphysical terms

(like the energy flows here, etc.) you focus on actual sensations in your body that
you can feel and relate to.

This gives a clear, understandable process that makes sense to our western way of
thinking and that you can quickly physically experience and feel the benefits.
