Michigan Standard I Visionary Leadership

Goal To develop my leadership skills and my understanding of how to manage and lead the Career and
Technical (CTE) Program for the district.
Activity (Leadership) I will serve as the CTE coordinator for Rochester Community Schools.
Activity - (Participation) I will attend Career Focused Education meetings at Oakland Schools, The
Michigan Career Education Conference as well as serve as a member of the Oakland Career Technical
Education Association.
Timeline I will continue to provide instructional support throughout the year. I will manage all Career
and Technical Education (CTE) staff and curriculum associated with all certified CTE programs.
Support Needed The district will need to allow me to attend Career Focused Education Professional
Development regularly to ensure I stay up to date on the recent policies regarding CTE programs.

Michigan Standard II Cultural & Instructional Leadership

Goal Develop my leadership abilities and contribute to the supportive culture of my school.
Activity (Leadership) I will serve as a leader to all of the CTE teachers at each of the 3 High schools.
Activity (Participation) I will attend District leadership team meetings regularly. (Instructional
Leadership Team ILT)
Timeline This will be a two-year commitment.
Support Needed The district will provide me with opportunities to attend relevant workshops and
professional development to support me in my growth as a leader.

Michigan Standard III - Management of Organization, Operation, & Resources

Goal Increase my knowledge of Career and Technical Education budget and curriculum policies
Activities (Observation) I will take a tour of successful CTE programs and tech centers in Oakland
County to observe best practices.
Activity (Leadership) I will provide PD for teachers with latest updates on CTE compliance and
curriculum updates
Activity (Participation) I will attend Career Focused Education Meetings and Oakland Career and
Technical Educator meetings monthly.
Timeline These activities will occur throughout the school year
Support Needed My mentor will allow me to attend meetings regularly and provide me feedback on
my professional development.

Michigan Standard IV Collaboration with Faculty, Community Members, & Families

Goal Work closely with my CTE teachers to develop impactful advisory committee meetings with
industry members, students, and parent voices to provide feedback and a strong collective voice.
Activity Collaborate with the lead CTE teachers of each department to host two advisory meetings
annually.
Timeline The first meeting will occur in the fall and the final meeting will occur in the spring.
Support Needed The presence of my Executive Director of Curriculum at the meetings will show
support for the CTE department and acknowledge all of their hard work and efforts to strive for
continuous improvement.
Michigan Standard V Ethics, Integrity, Fairness, & Practice
Goal Become more aware of the quality and equity of each CTE program across the district.
Activity Work closely with the director of technology and the Director of Business to evaluate current
technology and equipment in programs to create a needs analysis that will support equitable decision
making for all future purchases.
Activity I will attend PD that supports strategies and awareness surrounding issues of diversity,
cultural responsive teaching, and the marginalization of groups of students.
Timeline This will be ongoing to support teachers and myself continually throughout this process.
Support Needed I will need approval to attend workshops pertaining to these relevant topics.

Michigan Standard VI Student Success by Understanding, Responding to, & Advocating for Student
Learning
Goal Become more aware of the tools used to assess student learning such as NOCTI testing to
support my staff in data supported curriculum decisions
Activity I will provide professional development for all of the CTE teachers in the district that focus on
effective instructional strategies and using data to help us make informed decisions on program
improvement.
Activity I will attend NOCTI meetings (the mandated test for all CTE completer students) and use the
data to respond to student gaps in proficiency
Timeline Teachers will receive NOCTI focused workshops 3 times a year and I will attend NOCTI
webinars once a month.
Support Needed I will need support to have 1 hour a month to attend NOCTI conference call.

Michigan Standard VII Substantial & Sustained Educational Leadership Internship Experience
Goal I will work closely with my mentor Carrie Lawler the Director of Secondary Education to gain a
better understanding of successful leadership.
Activity We will have weekly meetings to discuss leadership initiatives, set goals, and monitor progress.
Timeline These meetings will occur weekly
Support Needed I will need my mentor to be transparent and open to discuss all aspects of leadership.
