Working process:
- In small groups, students brainstorm about the most relevant facts of Spanish
culture.
- With the whole group, they exchange and share their ideas.
- They reach an agreement on the ten more relevant facts or figures of Spanish
culture
- Each group is allocated one figure or fact to research about
- The group researches and prepares a presentation about their assignment.
- The group or a representative of it presents their work to the class
- The teacher collects the information in a general presentation about Spanish
culture.

Working process:
- The teacher presents the picture and the painter and reminds the students of
the anniversary.
- The students make some Internet research about Pablo Picasso and the
famous painting Guernica.
- In groups, the students design a Glogster (online poster) about the historical
events around the picture, the picture itself and Picasso
- The teacher arranges a visit to Reina Sofa Museum in Madrid so that the
students can see the original painting.
- The students are set in small groups. Each group receives a piece of the
mural.
- The students trace their piece into special paper.
- Each group decorates their piece in their own style and techniques.
- The students prepare a giant frame by using white glue and pieces of old
newspapers
- The students stick their piece in the suitable place of the frame in order to
reproduce the painting.
- The students trace the main lines with black marker in order to enhance the
details and provide uniformity to the mural
- The students exhibit the resulting mural and explain the process to other
school mates.

- The students reflect on the circumstances surrounding the creation of this
painting: the civil war, the massacre of civilians and the absurd of violence and
war.

Working process:
- The teacher presents the topic of immigration and elicits the students
opinions about the reasons why people leave their home country (whole group
activity)
- In small groups, the students reflect on the alienation caused by leaving your
country and write a list of the ten things that they would miss the most if they
emigrated to (xxx). They then share their lists with the rest of the class.
- Individually, they make a list of at least five things/ attitudes / situations that
would help them adapt to their new life as immigrants. They then share and
discuss their ideas with the rest of the class (class-group discussion).
- The immigrant students of our school prepare a presentation about their
home country and/ or their experience as immigrants and share it with their
classmates.

Working process:
- The teacher tells the students that s/he is going to read them a story. The
story we chose was Run! by Loreto Rodrguez de Rivera Alemn. This story
was the winner of a contest held by International Amnesty in 2015. The
original Spanish version can be found in

and discuss it: the feelings of the characters, their situation, the previous
stories within this short tale... the teacher listens and monitors
- The teacher tells the students to draw an illustration for this story.
- The students present and explain their work to their classmates.
- Alternatively, you can organize a contest and award prizes to the best ideas.

re-using
- The proposal is to recycle old text books that are stored, outdated and no
longer used and turn them into artistic objects.
- The students surf the Internet to find different examples of sculptures made
with and of books
- The students work on the sketches of the project chosen.
- The book sculptures are exhibited in the school library on Book Day, 23rd April,

- The students learn to recycle and turn an everyday item (text book) into an
artistic object.

several artistic proposals

- Each week, a different group of students together with their tutor spend one
hour picking up the litter in the school yards, classify the waste in different bag
and take the bags to the recycling bins near the school.
