Percy Irvine Haylock Owen

Percy Irvine Haylock Owen was a 25 years old, single soldier, who fought in
the First World War also known as the Great War. He died after 2 years
fighting.

Percys parents lived in Australia. They were married and their honeymoon
was in London, nine months later in Gibraltar, Spain Percy was born. Later
when he was 25 he joined the army. The joined the Australian Infantry. On
25-07-1916 he was promoted to 2nd Lieutenant. On 03-11-1916 embarked
Sydney on transport HMAT A19 Afric with 53rd Battalion,7th
reinforcements. Was later transferred to his father's old battalion, the 3rd.
When he was fighting in the 3rd battle of Ypres, he got shot in action. The
bullet went thought his head and he was dead immediately.

He was not the only one who was in the army. His father was also in the
army. His father was commander of the 3rd Battalion. Later he was
temporary commander in the 1st Infantry Brigade. During the war he was
wounded and then he was the director of a military training in Duntroon.

To conclude, Percy Irvine Haylock Owen after 2 years of fighting and living
in horror died as a hero in the World War. He was a fighter and a hero just
like his father. He changed the world!
