You will be producing 3-4 interviews during your chat show. For each
interview state who will be doing which role. You must do EVERY role once
during the show.

Interviewer
Describe their job Interviewer is someone is someone who interviews someone

Which part of the studio do they work in? (ie control room, studio floor)

Studio floor because that is where the interviews will be taking place because they
will be filmed there.

What skills do they need to do their job well?


They need to be a person that people can continue to watch for a whole
programme because they need to keep the viewers interested. They also need to
be good at communicating because they need to understand what the manager
wants them to do during the production.

Director
Describe their job - the person responsible for the interpretive aspects of a stage, film,
or television production; the person who supervises the integration of all the
elements, as acting, staging, and lighting, required to realize the writer's conception.

Which part of the studio do they work in? They work in the control room so they
can have an overview of everything and can also give the floor manager orders to
the other operators on the studio floor.
What skills do they need to do their job well? A director needs good
leadership skills because they are essentially in charge of everyone
and this is important because they need to make sure that their ideals
get put through to everyone working on the production. They also need
good communication skills because they need to make sure the crew
understand the orders that the manager is giving out.

Camera Person
Describe their job Camera man is in charge of capturing the footage of the
production. This job is very important because it captures all the footage of the
production. -

Which part of the studio do they work in? - the camera person works on the studio
floor because they need to be there so they can capture footage of the people
that are on set as they need to close to the actors or whoever is taking part on the
set of the production.

What skills do they need to do their job well? Camera people need to be alert and
have to make sure they are filming the correct shot. They need to understand
what the director wants them to do and carry the task out successfully.

Sound Mixing
Describe their job - Sound Mixer is responsible for recording film/video production
dialogue and efx. He commands a crew consisting of one or more boom persons,
a cable person and sometimes an Equipment Technician. The Sound Mixer will
determine what mikes are used for every scene -filmsound. (). sound mixer.

A sound mixers are trained professionals that operate a variety of equipment to
produce the sound for a variety of programmes.

Vision Mixing
Describe their job - Reference your research
A vision mixer operates all the cameras and has all the angles on one screen in
front of him, the director will have control on what he shows and we say what
camera to show so he will instantly show that camera on the vision mixer. So
there overall job is to edit live footage live using a variety of transition methods
such as cuts, mixes, and frame manipulation to make the composite
programme.

Which part of the studio do they work in? (ie control room, studio floor)
The vision mixer works in the control room along with the sound operator and
director. All three are away from set and in the control room in the production
gallery to work efficiently together.

What skills do they need to do their job well?


Vision mixer needs to have excellent organisational abilities as they need to be able to
multi task and do many things at once like listening to the production Assistants
countdown for an item queued. Vison mixers also need a good sense of rhythm in order
to que and produce accurate and sensitive transactions. Furthermore, they need to be
able to stay calm and react quickly and accurately under great amount of pressure.

Graphics Generator
Describe their job A graphics generators job is to edit the text and icons on the screen
for the viewers to see. This is an important role because it allows the production to
provide more information to the viewer without actually having to verbally say it. For
example in a football match before the game starts it shows an animation of the team
and player stats for the viewer to see. -

Which part of the studio do they work in? the graphics designers where abouts usually
varies because depending if its a live production they will be in the control room
making decisions on what text or animations are put on screen

What skills do they need to do their job well?


They need to be artistic so they can actually make an animation of high quality this is
important because you need it to grab the viewers attention, they also need to having
good timing skills so they know when to put the text or animation on tv.

Lighting Desk
Describe their job Lighting desk is in charge of all the lighting in the production so
they are responsible for when each light comes on. For example, if a production wanted
a certain section of focus they may put a light on the target so that they are
highlighted. They mainly take orders from the director as they will also be in the control
room to give him orders for where he wants the lighting.

Which part of the studio do they work in? The lighting desk is based in the control
room as the controls for the lighting should all be located in there and they will have a
better overview of the production. This important because the lighting desk needs a
clear view of where he has to apply lighting to the production.

What skills do they need to do their job well? they should be able to follow
instructions easily as well as good timing keeping because they need to know when
their cues for putting on lighting is. The lighting desk also needs food teamwork skills
so they collaborate with other workers to get the directors image across to the viewers.
Floor Manager
Describe their job The Floor manager is the stage manager of a television programme

because he is in charge of everyone on set. And they is able to give orders to be within
close proximity to themselves.

What skills do they need to do their job well? - floor manager needs good
organizational and leadership skills because they need to make sure everyone is doing
their job on the studio floor.
