ability to access views and create custom views
The navigation bar has been
renamed to Patient Care Views Action icons have been added to the
function bar:
Add, Edit, Copy, Delete, and Set as
default
The standard Clinical Views are
now called Shared Views

default

preferred default Patient Care View .

Creating and modifying a custom view has been simplified and improved

Available components can

be dragged and dropped
into a single column or a
triple column layout

Personalize Your View tip sheet.

Enhanced Clinical Views (continued)
Creating Custom Views
A custom view can now be created and modified from a Shared View

A Shared View is selected

and then duplicated

The duplicate appears in the

My Views panel and can be
customized

Existing custom views in R8 will not carry over into R9.1.

These will need to be re-created. Refer to How to
Personalize Your View tip sheet. 13
Access Enhancements
Logging off
Users are required to log out from the ClinicalViewer for privacy and
security purposes

If a user navigates away from the ClinicalViewer without properly logging

out, the session will terminate within a few seconds. In this case, if the back
button is used, the ConnectingOntario Logout page displays as if the session
has been terminated

Multiple browser windows if the ClinicalViewer is opened in a new

internet tab or window within the same type of browser, all instances will
be logged out (or timed out) simultaneously

14
Performance Enhancements
Data Caching
When a view is changed and timeline is maintained, information will load
from the cache within a 10-minute cache period rather than a query being
reissued
E.g., changing from Summary View to the Documents/Notes View (individual
Portlet) will not result in a new query being issued if timeline is not changed

The cache is tied to the current user session, current patient, current time
range, and current consent override state. If any of these change, then the
cache is cleared

Refreshing from the browser will cause a reload from the cache

Refreshing the timelines or using the refresh button on an individual

portlet (now available on all portlets) results in a new query being issued
