Oracle 10g RAC Implementation

Arun functioned as Lead DBA for an Oracle 10g RAC deployment on Linux based
commodity cluster. Aruns responsibilities ranged from designing the system to building
Linux kernel, OCFS kernel and creating RAC instances. Arun also designed and
implemented the production support process, backup and recovery process for this release.

HP UX to Redhat Linux Platform Migration for oracle E Business Suite 11i (11.5.9)
Arun functioned as Lead DBA for an Oracle 10g RAC deployment on Linux based
commodity class cluster. Aruns responsibilities ranged from designing the system to
building Linux kernel, OCFS kernel and creating RAC instances. Arun also designed and
implemented the production support process, backup and recovery process for this release.

Oracle Discoverer Deployment and Performance Tuning

Arun functioned as Senior Oracle DBA for this large-scale oracle discoverer deployment
with e-Business suite 11i environment. His responsibilities involved installing 9i AS
application server, deploying discoverer plus and viewer software. Arun also participated
in upgrading the discoverer piece to 10.1.2 and performance tuning of discoverer plus
environment.

Oracle Discoverer Upgrade and Performance Tuning

Arun functioned as a Senior Oracle DBA for an Oracle Discoverer upgrade and
performance tuning initiative. He upgraded the infrastructure piece of discoverer to latest
production release (Discoverer 4i) and resolved performance issues related at the middle
tier. Arun was also responsible in configuring MS Internet explorer to use jinitiator with
Discoverer Plus.

Oracle 9i RAC Implementation

Arun functioned as a Senior Oracle DBA/Technical Project Lead for an Oracle 9i RAC
implementation. He designed and implemented 9i RAC for databases hosting Sales Order
processing and web databases. The technology stack used for this project was Veritas 4.0,
Solaris 9.0 and Oracle 9.2.0.5.
Arun was responsible for the design, implementation and testing of the 9i RAC solution
from end-to-end, project management and production support.

Oracle 9.2 XML DB Release

Arun functioned as a Senior Oracle DBA for an Oracle XML DB Release. He was
responsible for design, installation and configuration of Oracle 9.2 XML DB solution for
storing/retrieving the machine-transmitted data from customer sites across the world to
Service Center database. This solution eliminated the complexity of managing Large BLOB
based XML storage. The size of database was around 400 GB.

Sales Workbench - Oracle

Arun functioned as an Oracle DBA on a Sales Workbench project. He designed and
architected a database solution for this major sales force automation project. Arun
designed and implemented a backup and recovery solution for this project. After the go
live, he also provided DB production support for this project. He executed large-scale
performance tuning of DB after the go live and brought down response time of
transactions.
Arun was responsible for Oracle 9i lite implementation, database design, performance
tuning, 24/7 on call DBA support. He was also responsible for the design and
implementation of context search sales order search functionality, performance tuning,
SQL tuning, and shell scripting.

Engineering Workbench - Oracle

Arun functioned as an Oracle DBA on an Engineering Workbench Project. This project
comprised of a series of interlinked large-scale projects like document management DB
rollout, Global parts Mainframe Oracle parts DB and Oracle manufacturing interface
implementation, Global parts DB rollout etc. The database sizes ranged from 1TB 5TB,
there were 1000 1200 concurrent users.
Arun was responsible for architecting and designing e-Matrix databases, design schemas
based on ematrix vaulting strategies, code migration to production, setting up oracle
environment, DB performance tuning, SQL tuning. Other responsibilities included create
development, stage, test and production areas, work with Oracle support on TARs,
upgrading database from Oracle 8.0 to Oracle 8i, Load testing of databases.

Policing System - Oracle

Arun functioned as an Oracle DBA and Programmer/Analyst for a Law Enforcement
automation project. His responsibilities included: development of PL/SQL reports, Oracle
Installation, creating schemas, developing PL/SQL procedures, UNIX shell scripting for DB
startup, shutdown and monitoring scripts, SQL tuning, and load testing.

General Insurance System - Oracle

Arun functioned as a Programmer/Analyst for a General Insurance System project. His
responsibilities included: installation of programming forms and reports. Arun was also
responsible for implementation and load testing.
