Classroom Assistant:
As a classroom assistant, I instruct small groups of students
in concepts such as math facts, language arts, map skills and
research projects.
Following the work of Lucy Calkins, I have implemented a
Writers Works in our first-third grade classroom.
My responsibilities also include reading quality literature to
the students every day and supervising outdoor play.
I have fostered meaningful relationships among students
through student field-trip retreats and team-work
community service projects.
I assist in preparing reports and paperwork for parent-
teacher conferences. I work as an observer of the
classroom reporting any warning signs of emotional or
developmental problems to the Lead teacher.
Lastly, I maintain an efficient work environment by cleaning
and sterilizing classroom materials and surfaces.
Computer specialist:
I work with students on a variety of projects including
learning MS Office, keyboarding, internet safety and
research, programming, and dissecting the components of
the computer.
