BAC will provide the high pressure hose assy. and related parts with the new structure for free
for those machines which left factory before Oct, 2003 and are still before the deadline of
warranty.

Introduction
BAC changed new provider for the high pressure hose assy. with the new structure since
Oct,2003.

Solved problems:
Hose splitting and water leakage

Implementary method
Unfix the old high pressure hose assy. and two pipe connectors. Fix the high pressure hose
assy. with the new structure and two new pipe connectors.

Required parts:
(1) High pressure hose assy.p/n. 335.009.106, 1 piece
(2) Pipe connectorp/n. 333.009.107, 1 piece
(3) Right-angle pipe connectorp/n. 333.009.564, 1 piece

Application range
BAC will update for all left-factory machines for free the control software installed in which were
not the newest version.

Check the version of the control software:


Press green POWER ON button on the panel board, if the version displayed in the window is
not 03- 05,

then the control software should be updated.

Introduction
The control software has been updated from Ver. SD1S-04 to Ver. SD1S-05. In the new
Version:
(1) The fuctions such as automatic touch sense and set zero, automatic compensation of
electrode wear were added. When multi-hole machining, manually set zero on Z-axis is not
needed any more, Z-axis value set in the program is just the relative machining depth
comparing to Z-axis position of the supposed touch sense point. (The compensation value of
electrode wear can be supposed in page 4 of SET0 window with special function F30.) Thus
electrodes withdrawing out of ruby electrode guide can be avoided. The detailed operating
regulations of multi-hole machining and special function F30 are introduced in the new version
Ver. 02.00 of SD1 Users manual.

(2) R-axis rotates when special function edge find or center find is ongoing. In addition, R-axis
also rotates when automatic touch sense with F30 is ongoing.

Solved problems:
The electrode wear cant be compensated automatically and the tubular electrode easily
retracts out of
electrode guide when multi-hole machining.

Implementary method
The control software assy. is an EPROM chip fixed on CNC control board SBC-B22. For
updating, just need to replace this chip.

1.3.1 Operation interface software
Besides the metric mode of the operation interface software, the inch mode was added. To
change the mode, just need to order corresponding EPROM chip. From then on, BAC requires
the agents to claim the mode of this software (either metric or inch ) in the order list definitely.
Before leaveing factory ,the different mode will be installed to finish commissioning just
according to the order list.
The operation interface software assy. is an EPROM chip fixed on main control board
SBC-B20:

(1)Metric mode ( p/n. 388.504.384): EPROM chip, 1 piece


(2)Inch mode ( p/n.388.505.532 ): EPROM chip, 1 piece

2.1 Model change of the high pressure pump and related parts
2.1.1 Introduction
BAC began to fix new-model high pressure pump on new-made SD1 machines since March
2003. The new model of the pump is AD-1008, while the old one is AD-708. Also models of
related parts such as pressure gauge, big belt pulley, small belt pulley, motor and timing belt
have been changed. Fix dimensions of pumps with different models are not same, thus
new-model parts are not compatible with old-model parts. If parts mentioned above need to be
replaced when repairing, first of all, the model of the high pressure pump fixed on the machine
must be checked clearly before ordering parts, then determine part number of corresponding
parts.

2.2.2 Remarks for ordering parts included in holder assy. when repairing
(1) Ordering of gaskets
Gasket is new-added part, it must be used together with new-structure seal gland and guide
sleeve. When ordering gaskets for machines on which gaskets have never been used,
corresponding seal gland and guide sleeve according to the list as below must be ordered at
the same time;

(2) Ordering of seal gland or guide sleeve


When either seal gland or guide sleeve needs to be replaced for machines on which gaskets
have never been used, corresponding both seal gland and guide sleeve must be ordered
together, and at the same time gaskets must be added.

(1) To improve stability and ensure positional precision of multi-hole machining.


(2) For drilling machines left off BAC before Mar 22, 2004, the cabinet was automatically
powered off if the temperature of side sheet metal of resistor box exceeds 60. This limit
temperature rised to 70 since then.

6. Material return

The old board SBC-B22 must be returned to BAC if new MCU control board SBC-B22A is
ordered for free under warranty. The replaced temperature relay is not necessary to be returned
to BAC.

(2) Unfix R-axis assy. away from insulated block demonstrated in the photo below

(3) Fix new R-axis assy., not tighten at the moment

(4) Check and adjust parallelism between R-axis and Z-axis movement (X & Y direction,
tolerance: 0.020mm)
--- Adjust parallelism between R-axis and Z-axis movement (X direction) through adjusting 4
fixing screws of R-axis
--- Adjust parallelism between R-axis and Z-axis movement (Y direction) through inserting
shims between R-axis assy. and its fixing insulated block. Tighten R-axis assy. after the
adjustment

Now the timing belt of R axis has been changed, the new timing belt (Model: HTD 3M 234-5 9,
part number: 336010820) has been used on the current drilling machine. The new time belt is
longer than the old timing belt (Model: HTD 3M 225 9, part number: 336006689), so they
are not compatible, during repairing the machine and if you want to apply this timing belt,
please confirm the model of timing belt first for changing a correct timing belt.

1. Introduction

(1) Because the edge of teeth of belt pulley on R axis motor is very sharp, so the belt is worn
out quickly and broken easily. If this problem occurred on the customers machine, please
check the belt pulley and replace the belt pulley and timing belt with a new one.

(2) Now the Belt 1 and Belt 2 are used on the current drill machine, for improving the life of
timing belt, the Belt 3 (GATES 234-3M) will be used on the drill machine, the quality of Belt 3 is
better than other belts. In the future if the timing belt is broken please replace the damaged belt
with Belt 3.

(1) If the timing belt is worn out quickly and broken easily on the above machine (Item 4),
please check the belt pulley and replace the R axis motor assy. and timing belt with a new one.

(2) If the problem of the timing belt is broken occurred on other machines, please replace the
timing belt with Belt 3.

Inlet valve:
The inlet valve was improved in order to decrease the possibility of water leakage and
damage.

Filter system(Option):
Now the filtration tank had been improved, the new function is shown as below: (1) Turn on
the pump automatically when switch on the machine. (2) The detection of water level. (3)
Automatic alarm if the water level is less than the setting position. (4) Fill the water into the
reservoir that mounted back of the machine automatically, etc. So the water can be used
circularly.

Adjust parallelism between R-axis and Z-axis (X direction) through adjusting 4 fixing screws of
R-axis.
Adjust parallelism between R-axis and Z-axis (Y direction) through inserting shims between

Tighten R-axis assy. after the adjustment.
Adjust the concentric between hole of chuck on the R axis and hole on the guide support by

The subassembly are used for reducing conductivity of dielectric when machining the micro
pore of 0.1~0.3mm.
Install the subassembly on clean tank behind the machine, if there have not mounting holes, the

user need drill oneself. The position of mounting hole is higher than the topmost water level of
clean tank.
