Why is your area of focus worthy of investigation? (Maximum 200 words)

My area of focus is worthy of investigation because both unemployment and inflation can
heavily affect the daily lives of ordinary people, as working and buying are the one of the
most inevitable events that everyone has to do basically every day. Therefore, investigating
and understanding into the causes and impacts of these two phenomenon would not only
allow me to learn more about how the increase in unemployment or inflation rate might affect
us but will also help me to establish and strengthen my knowledge in economics.
In addition, investigating into this area will also enable me to predict how the rate of inflation
and unemployment might be affected after certain important events have occurred, hence
improving my economic knowledge particularly on inflation and unemployment.

Investigating and interpreting the data and graphs of unemployment rate and inflation rate
explored in order to find out the relationship between the two is also worthy of investigation.
As researching into this area would help me to understand graphs and analyse them better,
it would also give me better knowledge on how one phenomenon might have an effect on
another.

My title helps me to investigate this focus area, as it is designed so that it is specifically


stating what I would be investigating in this investigation, which is the relationship between
unemployment and inflation in Hong Kong. My title also helps me to begin my research
without going off track, as my factual question is about the events which occurred in Hong
Kong that affected the rate of inflation and unemployment, by stating that it is an investigate
about the events that occurred in Hong Kong, it would make sure that Im stay within the
focus area as I would not be able to go research foreign countries with the title being so
specific.

In addition, my title also helps me to understand the concept behind the focus area better, as
my conceptual question was What are the relationship between inflation rates and
unemployment rates in Hong Kong?, conducting research into this question will allow me
understand the basics concepts about the relationship of unemployment rates and inflation
rates in Hong Kong, hence it will make it easier for me to research into more specific and
focused areas as Ive gained some knowledge already about the conceptual background of
the topic.

My title would also help me to investigate the focus area in a more interesting approach
without getting off topic, as my debatable question is about government intervention, which
can be interesting for both the readers and I. Investigating into this brand new aspect will
also allow me to obtain some new knowledge which I would not have gain from conducting
other research.

Lastly, with my title being specific, it will allow me to investigate in a more efficient and
effective way without investigating into random areas unnecessarily, which would help me
research in a short time.

Section 3: Evaluation

I was quite happy and pleased with the overall quality of my final product, as the article have
both directly and indirectly answered all the designed investigation questions. Moreover, the
article also included information which is highly relevant to the title, the information was also
presented in a visually appealing way which Im really satisfied with. To improve the quality
of my product, I would conduct a more wide-ranged research, including more primary
research such as survey and interviews, which would reflect a more realistic result.

In terms of my data collection methodology, I believe Ive did well in this area as well, as Ive
noted down information from various reliable websites during the research process, and in
order for me to use those information, I would make sure those information have appeared
elsewhere so the reliability would be improved. However, I also believe I should be collecting
more data from primary sources, in order to improve in this aspect.

The limitation of my study is that Ive included more positive points about government
intervention comparing to negative ones, therefore, my argument is unbalanced and limited.
In term of time management, I believe that is the best part I did throughout the entire project,
as Ive only completed 3 task late as seen in the action plan, and those tasks are only done
1 day late, which is really impressive in my opinion; moreover, Ive also utilised my free time
well and completed task beforehand as seen in the action plan which is also a demonstration
of my excellent time management skills.

If I had the chance to do this project over again, I would make sure that my article is more
informative, as I believe I couldve fit more information in the article as it is 250 words away
from the word limit.
