I have a Dream Speech

By Martin Luther King Jr.

Martin Luther King Jr. in his Speech, I have a Dream shows that people
have to fight if they want the rules to change. King uses the metaphors of checks
and banks to show that the rules need to change when he says ... weve come to
our nations capital to cash a check... that all men, yes white men as well as black
men, would be granted the unalienable rights of life, liberty and the pursuit of
happiness. (King). This quote shows that King is going to fight for black peoples
rights. This is important because blacks need to fight for their rights as citizens.
King also say, But we refuse to believe that the bank of justice is bankrupt. We
refuse to believe that there are insufficient funds in the great vaults if opportunity.
(King) This quote shows that the black people refuse to believe that america cant
give them the same rights as other americans. This is important because it shows
that they are fighting for equal rights. King is a person who will fight for the rights
of oppressed.

Why Nelson Mandela was a Great Leader

By: Ray Williams

Nelson Mandela believed in inequality for all when he .helped to unite

South Africa as it dismantled apartheid, The cruel system of White minority rule
(William 1) And this means that he was a great leader because how he grew up of
inspiration, and his vision to change the world. He was one of the great leaders to
put an end to segregation of Africa and the first african american president of this
country. As president, his goal was to unite Africa. He encouraged the thoughts of
others, and motivates others towards acceptance of people that are different. From
integrating his own staff, to the desire for the rest of Africa to also get along with
people of a different race, Nelson Mandela made sure he accomplished his goal as
much as possible. So basically he modeled the way, inspired a shared vision,
enabled others to act, challenged the process, and encouraged the heart, which are
all 5 parts of leadership. All these qualities, and his peaceful successes dealing with
the issue, are some of the many reasons why Nelson Mandela was such a great
leader. And he accomplished by uniting South Africa
Also It is better to lead from behind to others in front especially when you
celebrate victory when nice things occur you take the front line when there is
danger

Persepolis 2
by Azar Marjane Satrapi

The article Persepol is 2by Marjane Satrapi introduces the reasons for
fighting to change rules that are unfair. For instance, a woman reflected on a time
she went to jail because of a pair of red socks. The text states I even remember
spending an entire day at the committee because of a pair of red socks. (Satrapi p.
84). This quote demonstrates that the government was so against any
revolutionary ideas to the point that any sign of disorganization was taken very
seriously. Which shows that the government was so suspicious that he would
overreact to any simple item that shows a revolution. Furthermore, Satrapi
continues introducing the reasons for fighting to change the unfair rules. Another
example of that is people showing their hair or putting on makeup can be a sign of
war. The author states Showing your hair or putting on makeup logically became
acts of rebellion. (Satrapi p. 84). Based on this quote, the government believed
that any sign of disorganization is a sign of a war. This shows that the government
wants to stay in control of the country. In conclusion, when the rules are unfair,
we can break the laws to fight for whats right.
