TUTORING ACTIVITY PLAN for William

Tutoring Time: 1 hours

MATH Objectives (for St. Agnes student):


The student will be able to add proper fractions.
The student will be able to subtract proper fractions.

Describe the activity in each section and indicate high/low technology being used for each part of the activity:

Warm-up (2 min) William and the teacher will review his fraction homework.

Pre-Test (5 min) William will participate in a splash math game where he will identify
equivalent fractions.

Review of Prior William and the teacher will review math skills by playing a fidget spinner
Knowledge (3 min) game. The object of the game is to complete as many math problems as
you can before the fidget spinner stops spinning.

William will be able to understand the usage of a simile in a sentence.
William will be able to understand the usage of metaphors in a sentence.
William will be able to write his own sentence to make a metaphor or simile.

Describe the activity in each section and indicate high/low technology being used for each part of the activity:

Warm-up (2 min) The representative from the group will then recap what the definition of
both means. William will also hand in the homework worksheet that was
sent home the previous session

Pre-Test (5 min) William will participate in a Quizlet activity involving similes and
metaphors.

Review of Prior William will fill out a Metaphor and Simile chart on chart paper by
Knowledge (3 min) thumbtacking the provided sentence strips.

Primary skills and William will complete an All About Me Activity using simile and metaphors

draw a picture of himself in the corner and then make up his own simile

Home Task (2 min) lesson/activity. William will also be sent home with a link to a game that he
can play to review similes and metaphors.
