Esther

Elisabeth, Anne, Gina and Mary are my oldest friends. We lived on Duck Lane sixty-five years ago.
We were young girls then. There werent many cars and we played cricket in the street every night.
We were in the same class at school. It was called Bradford Grammar. When we left school in
1947 we all went to work in the wool factory. Every Friday night we played bridge together in The
Red Lion. Then we went to the local fish and chip shop for our tea!
We all got married in the same year too, in 1950. My maid of honour was Gina. And in 1951, we all
went to Blackpool for a week. It was the best holiday ever!
