Choice A:

You will now research various works in different artistic mediums that reference the events of The Odyssey. The goal is to
determine if there are any recurring or repeated ideas/concepts in multiple genres (e.g. themes, philosophies, social or
political opinions and/or beliefs). To accomplish this, you will:
Search out and locate various literary or artistic works/media (novels, short stories, essays, paintings, sculptures,
poems, music, documentaries, films, etc.) connected to the significant events in The Odyssey.
Research as many different sources and types of creative media to get the most impact. Document your sources
carefully as you will be creating a Works Cited page.
You must have at least...
THREE visual, audio and/or fiction mediums: painting, film, song, sculpture, photograph, poetry, short
story, film or other media. Print reproductions of the paintings/sculptures/photographs on your
computer. Print out song lyrics and, if possible, secure a recording of any song(s) you found. For
films/documentaries, locate and print any reproductions of movie posters and reviews/information about
the film (e.g. actors, actresses, synopsis of the plot, movie reviews, etc.).
Use the Historical Work Analysis Graphic Organizer to help you determine and record which details or facts
from the time/event are emphasized in each work, citing specific evidence to support your analysis. Look for
details/facts that are reflected similarly or contradicted in multiple works. You may wish to attach any printed
copies of photos, artwork, movie posters, etc. to the appropriate graphic organizer.
Create a Works Cited page in correct MLA format to list the sources you accessed.

You will now research Ancient Greece and Greek culture to identify beliefs, morals and/ or traditions that reference the
themes of The Odyssey. The goal is to determine if there are any recurring or repeated ideas/concepts that have survived
and exist in our society and culture today. To accomplish this, you will:
Search out and locate various literary or nonfiction articles connected to the significant themes in The Odyssey.
Research as many different sources and types of information to get the most impact (not just Wikipedia)
Document your sources carefully as you will be creating a Works Cited page.
You must have at least...
THREE sources to cite and garner key details and quotes from to support your presentation.
