Yanfeng USA Packaging

Guidelines

Released: 7/29/2012
Revised: 5/3/2013

Overview
This guideline replaces and supersedes any and all previous editions.

The guideline is to be used for all purchased parts shipping into all Yanfeng
Corporation Manufacturing facilities located in North America. If there is a viable and
documented business reason for a deviation from these guidelines, the purchased
part supplier must receive approval for the deviation in writing from the respective
Yanfeng USA facility.

Yanfeng USA facilities may have specific regional and local requirements that should
be considered in addition to these guidelines. In cases where the local Yanfeng USA

Yanfeng USA Packaging Guidelines for Suppliers Shipping to North America

1.0 GENERAL REQUIREMENTS

Regardless of packaging material and/or style of packaging these general
requirements will be in effect. Purchased part suppliers should review and insure all
packaging is in line with these expectations.

1.1 Part Quality

The purchased part supplier is responsible to insure their packaging delivers their part
to the final point of use, in a production ready and damage-free condition, assuming
normal handling in transportation, storage and in-plant movements.

Yanfeng USA facilities will provide packaging approval based off the container
selection, container size, container density, and overall design to help insure in
plant requirements are met. The purchased part supplier is responsible for the
design and development of the production packaging to fit all variants and
design levels of the sourced part and to insure the part quality is maintained to
the final point of use.

The supplier is responsible for providing adequate protection of their parts. Some
packaging systems and components may require additional protection such as
corrosion, surface abrasions, or static build-up. The use of preservatives or other
special packaging must be reviewed and concurred by the receiving Yanfeng USA
facility prior to adoption.

1.2 Packaging Materials

Whenever possible, easily recyclable and/or reusable material should be used, such
as paper corrugated, plastic containers, thermoformed plastics, etc. Certain non-
recyclable materials can be more difficult and costly to recycle or dispose of, such as
foamed plastics, and therefore should only be used when no suitable substitute is
available.

Due to material properties, Expanded Polystyrene (EPS) in its natural compound state
is not to be used as a packaging material without prior written approval by the
receiving Yanfeng USA facility.

Plastic material must be labeled with the appropriate material code in accordance with
"The Society of the Plastic Industry" guidelines and/or in accordance with local and/or
national government regulations.

Metal banding must not be used unless authorized in writing by the receiving Yanfeng
USA facility.

This is an uncontrolled document when printed. 3

Yanfeng USA Packaging Guidelines for Suppliers Shipping to North America

1.3 Manual Handling

The gross weight of containers designed for hand carrying and handling, shall not
exceed 25 pounds (weight of the product plus weight of the packaging materials), even
if palletized. Containers should be modularized to fit standard unit load shipping sizes.
Deviations will require authorization from the receiving Yanfeng USA facility, and
should be addressed as early as feasible in the packaging development process.

Standard ergonomics guidelines must be considered during the packaging

development process.

1.4 Government Regulations

It is the purchase part suppliers responsibility to insure that all packaging conforms to
all government and transportation rules and regulations for the ship from location and
the ship to location.

1.5 Packaging Quantities

Packaging design and part counts (pieces per container) shall not vary and containers
should always be shipped with full container quantities except when authorized by the
receiving Yanfeng USA facility and should be marked accordingly (i.e. Final Release
or Balance Out).

One container shall contain one part number only. Mixed loads are acceptable but
require written approval from the receiving Yanfeng USA facility prior to shipping

1.6 Load Stability

All packs must have sufficient vertical strength and stability to withstand tiered heights
to maximize in transit freight. Stretch/shrink wrap, banding, seatbelts or other
stabilizing techniques must adequately secure palletized loads. Nailing, stapling or
gluing is not an acceptable method for securing the loads.

Containers must be oriented so that they will fully utilize the length and width of the
pallet. To help insure vertical integrity containers must not overhang the edge of the
pallet

1.7 Packaging Design

Standard packaging specifications should be documented and available at all times.

Packaging must not vary between shipments.

Unit load sizing should maximize shipping density and minimize the necessity for
blocking and bracing. The proposed packaging method must conform to the mode of
transportation designated by Yanfeng USA. Every effort should be made to minimize
the cost of transportation.

This is an uncontrolled document when printed. 4

Yanfeng USA Packaging Guidelines for Suppliers Shipping to North America

See Attachment I: Packaging Determination flowchart, to help determine

the proper size container to use.

Individual requirements for unique usage environments should be considered during

packaging development. Some receiving locations have special requirements, which
may limit the maximum size and weight (for example, items stored in facilities with
automated storage and retrieval systems, or special storage racks systems).
Suppliers with any questions must contact the receiving Yanfeng USA facility for
details.

1.8 Packaging Cost

All expendable packaging should be paid for by the purchased part supplier through
the piece price. All returnable packaging should be 100% owned and maintained by
the purchased part supplier and funded through the piece price. Yanfeng USA retains
the right to design, develop and purchase returnable packaging for suppliers on a case
by case basis as determined by Yanfeng USA.

1.9 Hazardous Materials

Transport regulations will vary for hazardous materials depending on the transportation
mode. Hazardous materials shipped to any Yanfeng USA facility must comply with all
applicable international and local regulations and be accompanied by the necessary
shipping documentation and safety data sheets.

It is the purchased part suppliers responsibility to pack any hazardous good in

appropriate approved packaging and to label and mark all unit loads containing
hazardous materials according to regulations.

1.10 Pallet Sizes (Footprints)

The length and width of pallets and other unit loads are governed by the size and cube
of the transporting conveyance. The following standard pallet footprint dimensions are
compatible with both current and older trailer widths:

UNIT LOAD
Length Width
48" 45"
32" 30"

If the dimension of a part requires a pack greater than 48" in length, size the
package length to accommodate the part length, but maintain the width
dimension at 48" or 32".

This is an uncontrolled document when printed. 5

Yanfeng USA Packaging Guidelines for Suppliers Shipping to North America

1.11 Unit Load Heights

Unit load heights should be modularized to the height of shipping conveyances,

minimizing the number of unit loads, while maximizing use of available cube. The
recommended height of a unit load is 50" for all standard transportation modes. All
packs must be designed to withstand tiered heights up to 102. Unit load packs taller
than 50" must have approval in writing from the receiving Yanfeng USA facility.

Recommended unit load heights, including the pallet:

25" overall height
34" overall height
50" overall height

1.12 Hand-held Containers

Most parts are compatible with standard size containers, which will efficiently cube a
standard size pallet. The table in Attachment II reflects standard container sizes.

Unique size containers must have approval from the receiving Yanfeng USA facility.

1.13 Bulk Containers

Bulk containers should be sized to maximize cube utilization of the intended mode of
transportation. The following are examples of common bulk containers:

Length Width Height

48" 45" 25"
48" 45" 33 or 34"
48" 45" 50"
32 30 25
32 30 33 or 34

If the dimension of a part requires a bulk container larger than 48 length, size
the package length to accommodate the part length, but maintain the width
dimension at 48" or 32".

This is an uncontrolled document when printed. 6

Yanfeng USA Packaging Guidelines for Suppliers Shipping to North America

2.0 EXPENDABLE CONTAINERS

Yanfeng USA will accept the use of expendable packaging where feasible and when it
provides the lowest total cost solution. This section of the guidelines is intended to
assist in the development of expendable packaging.

An expendable shipping system is comprised of contained components having a life

expectancy of only one trip from supplier to customer. The Supplier shall maintain
responsibility for the design and implementation of any expendable packaging. This
includes both expendable containers and returnable containers with expendable
dunnage. For returnable systems, the supplier is responsible for designing back up
expendable packaging to ship production parts in the event returnable containers are
not available. Back up expendable packaging must be designed with dimensions less
than or equal to the returnable container dimensions and have the same standard pack
quantity and part orientation as the returnable container.

Expendable containers must be validated by Yanfeng USA prior to first shipments to

any Yanfeng USA plant. A Packaging Data Form (see attachment III) must be
completed for each production component part. A sample of the proposed packaging
design must be submitted for review and approval received prior to production
shipments. It is the part suppliers responsibility to provide adequate shipping
protection for quality parts.

2.1 Expendable Cartons Size and Construction

When determining carton size and construction, use standard size manually handled
containers. Cartons/containers are to be designed to be modular to the standard
shipping pallet. Cartons must not overhang the pallet. Parts longer than the standard
size pallets will require a container and pallet design to have one dimension to be 48
or 96.

The use of Half Slotted Container (HSCs) with common covers is strongly
recommended. One common cover over each full layer of HSCs on a pallet is the
preferred method; although in some cases, (low volume requirements) e.g., covers
may be required for each individual carton, or the use of Regular Slotted Containers
(RSCs) should be considered. HSCs use less corrugated fiberboard, and reduce
packing and unpacking labor as well as reducing personal injury and part damage for
the use of box knives, etc. The use of uncovered (uncapped) HSC, unflanged tubes
with unsecured bottom caps, and design style (custom made) containers are not
acceptable.

Corrugated material used in shipping containers must have adequate strength to

withstand the test of usage. The part and container must arrive in satisfactory
condition at the usage point. A minimum of 44 pounds per inch width edge crush
(ECT) or 275 pounds per square inch burst test is required for all corrugated material
unless approved by Yanfeng USA.

This is an uncontrolled document when printed. 7

Yanfeng USA Packaging Guidelines for Suppliers Shipping to North America

All containers must be recyclable.

All containers must be constructed with an outside tab style manufacturers joint. A
stitched manufacturers joint is recommended, and will be required if a glued or other
type joint proves inadequate.

All pallet cartons over 33 in height must have a scored drop side. Although normally
on the longer side of the container, the location and size of the drop side is determined
by part orientation and operator ergonomics. The bottom of the drop side opening
must be no more than 33 from the floor.

All containers must have a box makers certificate visible on the assembled container
and display edge crush, bursting or puncture test.

Wire bound wood pallet boxes or wood and wood composite crates are not
acceptable.

2.2 Material and Environmental Considerations

Expendable container systems should be designed and engineered for use within
reasonable, foreseeable environment conditions. The receiving Yanfeng USA facility
can provide specific restrictions on time frames and expected order rates.

In order to be kept clean, some parts may require additional protection during
transportation, storage, and/or plant environment.

Expendable container systems should be designed to withstand a wide variation in

temperatures (from -30F to +150F) and high humidity (up to 90%) during handling,
transit and storage.

2.3 Internal Dunnage

Dunnage should be used when part-to-part contact must be eliminated to prevent

damage in shipping and handling. Suppliers are responsible for the design,
performance, and procurement of all expendable dunnage. Expendable internal
dunnage is main stream, and must be included in the suppliers quotation.

The internal dunnage should be designed for minimal set up, maximizing density,
loading and unloading labor, and allow for ease of recycling and/or disposal. The use
of partition or cell type dividers is generally preferred over individually wrapping parts,
to minimize labor. The use of dunnage constructed of combined and/or non-recyclable
materials (i.e., foam glued to corrugated) is difficult to separate and recycle, and is
therefore highly discouraged.

2.3.1 Internal Dunnage Materials-The use of foam or foam sheeting as an expendable

This is an uncontrolled document when printed. 8

Yanfeng USA Packaging Guidelines for Suppliers Shipping to North America

material is discouraged. Currently, we have no economical solutions for recycling

foam, which causes the material to be land filled.

1. Foam glued to corrugated and any other dissimilar materials bonded

together and expanded polystyrene (EPS or Styrofoam) is not to be used
as a packaging material without prior written approval by the receiving
Yanfeng USA facility. The use of foam sheeting is undesirable.

Alternatives are:

1. Recycled materials such as die cut corrugated partitions or molded Kraft

paper pulp.
2. Die cut corrugated partitions with Class A protective coating.
3. Mechanical attachment of foam to corrugate or other dissimilar materials.

2.3.2 When selecting ESD safe packaging materials, follow Packaging Materials
Standards for ESD Sensitive Items ANSI/EIA-541-1988.

2.3.3 If VCI packaging is needed, the part supplier is responsible for selecting the
best VCI material to be used for part protection.

2.4 CARTON CLOSURE

The general guidelines of the method in which containers must be sealed after being
filled are stated as follows.

2.4.1 Containers must be adequately sealed to ensure they do not open during
shipping or handling. Closure is generally done by taping or gluing.

2.4.2 Packaging materials containing asphalt, such as asphalt sealing tapes, must
not be used. Paper tape or strippable reinforced tape (repulpable) is the only
acceptable tape for carton closure. Plastic film tapes are only permitted if
sealing performance is compromised by using paper tapes.

2.4.3 Spot gluing is an acceptable method for carton closure. If gluing is selected,
glue transfer to the part surface is unacceptable.

Half Slotted Containers with full layer lids should be used wherever possible to
eliminate the requirements for carton closures.

2.5 UNIT LOADS

To minimize manual handling; all containers must be palletized unless part volumes
and shipping releases to individual receiving plants are insufficient to complete one full
palletized layer.

This is an uncontrolled document when printed. 9

Yanfeng USA Packaging Guidelines for Suppliers Shipping to North America

Cartons are to be palletized in full layers only (no "pyramiding"), to allow tiered unit
loads in transit and storage. If carton quantities are inadequate to complete full layers,
additional cartons must be shipped empty (and marked as empty) in order to
complete a full layer.

Suppliers must size all cartons to fully utilize the length and width of the pallet.

The table in Attachment II reflects standard carton sizing.

Cartons must not overhang the pallet base.

2.6 EXPENDABLE PALLET SIZE AND CONSTRUCTION

The recommended pallet size and construction is as follows:

2.6.1 Standard truck mode footprints are:

This is an uncontrolled document when printed. 10

Yanfeng USA Packaging Guidelines for Suppliers Shipping to North America

Length Width Tolerance

48" X 45" X +0,-1
30" X 32" X +0,-1

2.6.2 Pallet dimensions are stated as follows:

Pallet length X Pallet width X Pallet height

Pallet length: the length of the stringer

Pallet width: the length of the deck boards
Pallet height: the vertical distance from the floor to the top of the deck

Thus, a 45 x 48 x 5 pallet has 45 stringers, 48 deck boards and the top of the deck
is 5 above the floor.

NOTE: For a four-way entry pallet, the primary (easy entry) opening is
across the 48 width.

(By contrast, box and corrugated manufacturers standard practice is to always state
the larger dimension first)

2.6.3 Corrugated Pallets: For pallet loads weights under (500) pounds, corrugated
fiberboard pallets are recommended.

1. Structural members of the pallet should be compatible with the carton by

supporting the edge and corners.

2. A solid corrugated deck is desired.

3. If used, they are to be designed to withstand 90% humidity at 150 degrees

Fahrenheit exposure during handling, transit and storage.

If paper fiber cores are used for load-bearing members, use no more than four with a
maximum thickness of .

2.6.4 Wood Pallets: The use of wood pallets is recommended to pack/load weights
that exceed (500) pounds.

1. Non-reversible, four-way entry stringer construction wood pallets, with 3-

This is an uncontrolled document when printed. 11

1/2 under clearance on two opposite sides with a minimum of 2 under

clearance on the remaining two sides is required. Two way entry may be
used on 30 x 32 wood pallets and corrugated pallets whose stringers are
48 or less.

2. It is recommended that single or double winged pallets be used for stretch

wrapped unit loads.

Pallets other than corrugated or wood construction are to be reviewed and concurred
on by Yangfeng USA Packaging Engineering and the receiving plant prior to use.

2.8 SECUREMENT-CONTAINER TO PALLET

All expendable containers shipped on pallets must be adequately secured to the

pallets. Multiple containers must be properly stacked on and secured to pallets. Any
mixed loads in a container or placing multiple containers on a pallet must be approved
by packaging engineer PRIOR to packing. Plastic strapping or plastic stretch wrap are
acceptable methods of securing cartons to a pallet. Using just one or the other helps
to reduce disposal and recycling costs. Both may be used when necessary to secure
the load and prevent shifting during transit.
2.8.1 Plastic (Non-metallic) Strapping/banding
Non-metallic strapping (polyester or polypropylene) shall be used due to the
safety hazards associated with metallic (steel) strapping.
A minimum of two bands lengthwise and two bands widthwise must be
applied. Fusing of the straps, buckles or crimp seals should be used to
secure the banding.
The tension of the strapping shall be properly adjusted to serve the packaging
function and not to damage the shipping parts.

2.8.2 Stretch film

Stretch film must be linear low-density polyethylene (LLDPE) and clear in color
to maximize recycling potential and enable bar code scanning through the film.
Polyvinyl chloride (PVC) film is not to be used.
Three stretch wrap layers on the bottom and top, and two in the center of the
unit load should be used. Many other factors such as the material gauge,
tension and unit load weight must also be considered.
If double wing pallets are used, stretch wrap shall fully enclose the bottom of
the wings. Stretch wrap shall be fully secured to 3 inches below the deck
boards.
Mixed loads shall be stretch-wrapped.

3.0 STANDARD PARTS

3.1 Standard Parts, are defined as small parts or fasteners such as nuts, bolts,
screws or washers. Miscellaneous small attachment-type items, such as clips
and clamps are also included within that definition. Standard parts are usually
shipped in expendable containers sized (9 X 9 X 4, 5 or 6) and are primarily
of the following designs:

Mainstream is RSC (regular slotted carton) with a perforated top.

Other options include:

1. Full telescopic
2. Regular slotted, with an inner liner, when necessary

3.2 Each 9 X 9 container must be identified with one (1) Standard Identification
Label. All cartons are to be loaded onto the wooden pallet so that their labels
are visible (faced outward), where possible.

This is an uncontrolled document when printed. 17

Yanfeng USA Packaging Guidelines for Suppliers Shipping to North America

4.0 RETURNABLE CONTAINERS

Due to environmental, cost, and quality considerations, Yanfeng USA encourages the
use of returnable packaging where feasible and a lower total cost solution. This
section of the guidelines is intended to assist in the development of returnable
packaging.

4.1 Standard Containers

Most parts are compatible with standard size containers, which are readily available
from several manufacturers. Some examples include plastic totes, collapsible plastic
containers, steel and wire racks. Yanfeng USA Packaging Engineering can provide a
list of recommended suppliers upon request.

See Attachment 3 for standard sizes.

4.2 Unique Containers

Some parts may require unique or specialized packaging designs due to part
characteristics, automated handling, ergonomics, etc. Special characteristics include
part geometry, fragility, cleanliness, etc.

Yanfeng USA Packaging Engineering can provide, upon request, a list of

recommended sources for the design and manufacture of unique packaging.

4.3 Environmental Considerations

Returnable container systems should be designed to withstand a wide variation in

temperatures
(from -30F to +150F) and high humidity (up to 90%) during handling, transit and
storage.

For any returnable material that may require outside storage UV protection and
applicable weather protection (i.e. drain holes) should be reviewed.

4.4 Identification of Supplier Provided Container

All returnable packaging must have the proper identification to help insure they will
be
utilized as intended. Proper Identification includes; supplier name, supplier
address, and container code.

Suppliers must verify container ID and Labeling Requirements with the

receiving Yanfeng USA facility prior to having the packaging material
manufactured.

This is an uncontrolled document when printed. 18

4.5 Returnable Back-Up / Emergency Expendable Packaging

Returnable Back-Up / Emergency Expendable Packaging is absolutely mandatory

since the ordering system, internal/external logistics systems, and manufacturing
processes are dependent on consistent container size and part quantity.

Emergency expendable containers must emulate the size and part quantity of
the returnable container it replaces. It is EXPECTED that suppliers maintain a
sufficient quantity of emergency packaging in inventory at all times.

This is an uncontrolled document when printed. 19

Yanfeng USA Packaging Guidelines for Suppliers Shipping to North America

See section 2.0 Expendable Containers for details regarding expendable packaging
design considerations.

4.6 Maintenance and Cleaning

The part supplier is expected to conduct routine container inspections and perform
required repairs to insure container/dunnage are in a safe and useable condition and
capable of delivering a quality product. This typically involves replacement of container
dunnage, details and assemblies, replacement and/or tightening of fasteners, removal
of debris and dirt, etc. at no additional cost to Yanfeng USA.

It is expected that containers will be repaired in a timely manner to avoid supply

interruptions.

This is an uncontrolled document when printed. 20

Yanfeng USA Packaging Guidelines for Suppliers Shipping to North America

5.0 SHIPMENT LABELING & IDENTIFICATION

Incoming material is to be identified by the supplier with an identification label (HAND
WRITTEN INFORMATION IS NOT ACCEPTABLE). Provision shall be made on
returnable container systems for identification of the container itself and its contents.
Hazardous materials are to be packaged and identified in conformance with
government regulations.

Labeling requirements must be verified with the receiving Yanfeng USA facility.

Specific Identification requirements (e.g., labels, tags. etc.) shall be determined by the
receiving Yanfeng USA facility. Unless otherwise advised, use of bar coded shipping
labels as specified in the Automotive Industry Action Group (AIAG), B-10 shall be
required.

5.1 Packaging and Shipping Label

The packaging and shipping label is used to identify the contents in the container being
shipped to the plant. It shall include the part number, part description, supplier name,
supplier code, quantity, engineering level change, safety item identification, date
manufactured, plant dock location, drop zone location and serial number. All part
numeric identifications shall have the bar code identifier directly below them. The
character size for the part number on the packaging label should be 0.5 inches
(12.7mm). See Attachment IV.

5.1.1 Label

The label paper shall be white in color with bold, black printing. The required label size
is 4 in. (102mm) high by 6 in. (152 mm) wide or ISO size A6. All labels must meet the
AIAG specifications for quality, reflectivity, and readability. Labels must be scannable
from the exterior of the shipping unit (not covered by banding, cardboard, or shrink
wrap.

Methods to facilitate attaching and removing labels shall be considered in the

container design. Container flat surfaces, "holding pockets", or other attaching
techniques should be able to handle labels that vary from 5" to 7" horizontally and 4"
to 4.5" (114mm) vertically.

Adhesive types can be pressure sensitive or dry gummed as long as adherence to the
packaging substrate is assured and application is wrinkle free and only for use on
expendable packaging.

5.1.2 Label Location

The label or tag shall be attached to two adjacent sides of each individual

This is an uncontrolled document when printed. 21

Yanfeng USA Packaging Guidelines for Suppliers Shipping to North America

package/container (See AIAG B-10) exceptions may apply where there is no area on
the sides of the containers to apply the label. For unit load packaging that is stretch
wrapped the master label and mix load labels must be applied to the outside. When
individual containers are palletized and made into a unit load for mechanical handling,
the master label shall be attached to two adjacent sides of the unit load.

5.1.3 Label Protection

Label protection against moisture, weathering, abrasion, etc., may be required in harsh
environments and is encouraged wherever practical. Laminates, sprays, window
envelopes, and clear plastic pouches are examples of possible protection methods.
Care must be taken to assure that labels meet reflectivity and contrast requirements
and can be scanned with contact and non-contact devices.

5.2 Multiple, Common Item Packs-Master label

A Master Label is required to be used to identify the total contents of a multiple single
pack load of the same part number. The label shall be placed on the unit load in such
a manner that when the pack is broken apart the label is discarded (e.g. attached to
the outside of the stretch wrap). For further information see AIAG B-10. See
Attachment V for sample.

5.3 Mix Item Loads

A Mixed Load Label shall be used to identify a load of multiple single packs of different
parts numbers. For further information see AIAG B-10. Note: Mix loads are required
to have a Master label of each individual part applied to the shipments. The label
shall be placed on the unit load in such a manner that when the pack is broken apart
the label is discarded (e.g., attach to outside of stretch wrap or affix to the banding).
See Attachment V for sample.

This is an uncontrolled document when printed. 22

Yanfeng USA Packaging Guidelines for Suppliers Shipping to North America

6.0 TRANSPORTATION
The packaging method must conform to the mode of transportation designated by
Yanfeng USA Corporation. Every effort shall be made to minimize the cost of
transportation. This process involves routing instructions and conveyance selection, as
well as packaging design.

Failures to comply with these specifications that result in excess transportation costs
may result in charges to the supplier.

6.1 Routing and Conveyance Selection

In most instances, Yanfeng USA Corporation will designate the most economical mode
of transportation, and will specify carrier and carrier's routes. If the purchase order
does not designate the mode of transportation, consult the Transportation activity at
the affected receiving facility for assistance.

When the supplier is required to determine the routing or conveyance selection, the
Material Control activity at the affected receiving facility should be contacted for
shipping information (shipping frequencies, conveyances required, etc.).

6.2 Design Consideration

Packaging must be designed to fit within the conveyance selected. Packs should fit
snug within the internal usable space of the conveyance to eliminate need for blocking
or bracing.

6.3 Laws and Regulations

Compliance with all federal, state and local laws and regulations must be maintained.

This is an uncontrolled document when printed. 23

7.0 INTERCONTINENTAL PACKAGING

This section of the guidelines is intended to assist in the development of
intercontinental packaging.

7.1 General Requirements

As with all packaging, Intercontinental Packaging must be designed to deliver and present
parts in their intended condition. Packaging must have sufficient vertical strength and
stability to withstand a maximum tiered height of the shipping conveyance while fully utilizing
the length and width of the conveyance.

All requirements from section 1.0 GENERAL REQUIREMENTS and 2.0

EXPENDABLE CONTAINERS should still be followed with Intercontinental
Packaging.

7.2 Part Protection

The supplier is responsible for providing adequate protection of parts for

Intercontinental Packaging. Some components may require additional protection
due to the extended transit times such as anti-rust oils and/or corrosive inhibiting
paper (VCI). The use of preservatives and/or other special packaging must be
reviewed and concurred by the receiving Yanfeng USA Manufacturing location.

7.3 International Regulations

Intercontinental Packaging must confirm to all government and transportation rules

and regulations. This includes but is not limited to ISPM15 which details treatment
requirements for the use of solid wood packaging materials.

7.4 International Shipping Cartons

In most cases the Recyclable Backup container may be used as the International
Shipping Carton (container). The supplier is responsible for the packaging design,
prototype, and purchase of all corrugated packaging.

The following carton sizes were designed for the best sea container cube utilization. It
is important if you are designing packaging for International Shipments that you stay
within the following footprints, unless your part dictates a new size.
