Course Presentation
This course covers the principles and procedures of BSS Operation and Maintenance. It is based on
the exhaustive use of the OMC-R. The course includes both a theoretical part and a practical part.
Emphasis has been placed on many hands-on exercises.

Course Objectives
Upon completion of this course you will be able to:
configureandreconfigureyourBSS(BSC,BTSandTCU)network,(upgradeBSSsoftware,
backupandrestoredatabase),
monitorperformancesnetwork,
maintaintheBSS(analyzealarmsandnotifications,andthenaccuratelylocatethefaults),
operatetheremoteterminalROT.

Prerequisites
This course is intended for people who are in charge of the operation and maintenance of the BSS
system.
Before taking this course, you need to understand basic principles for GSM network:
SY1 AdvancedGSMSystemOverview,
OM36 LocalMaintenanceforBSC,TCU&S8000BTS.

Scope
This course applies to the V14 system release of the BSS.
