PASSIVE DESIGN IDEAS

WHT IS PASSIVE DESIGN?

Passive design refers to a design approach that uses natural elements
often sunlight to heat, cool or light a building. Passive solar or cooling
design take advantages of the suns energy to maximise heating or
cooling based on a buildings exposure. Systems that employ passive
design require very little maintenance and reduce a building energy
construction by minimizing or eliminating mechanical systems used to
regulate indoor temperature.

HOW DO PASSIVE AND SUSTAINABLE RELATE?

Passive solar heating and passive ventilation for cooling assist in
creating sustainable building by reducing dependency on fossil fuels
for heating and cooling buildings, as well as reducing the need for
electricity to support lighting by using practices of day lighting in
buildings.

AIM:
To study about passive design strategies in order to reduce a building
energy construction by minimizing the mechanical systems use to
regulate indoor temperature.

OBJECTIVE:
The main objectives of Passive design study is to reduce, depletion of
critical resources like energy; prevent environmental degradation
caused by facilities and infrastructure throughout their life cycle; and
create built environments that are liveable, comfortable, safe, and
productive.

The main objective is to create building design which is accessible,

secure, healthy, and productive while minimizing any negative impacts
on society; it should result in net-positive benefits to all the areas.
