General Outcome 1 Materials that we will need for
this lesson are:
Students will listen, speak, read, write, view and represent to explore

Introduction

Activities
1. Read chapters 10 to 12 in The Tale of Despereaux (20 mins)

2. Have students turn to a partner and tell them what just


happened in those 3 chapters. (2 mins)

3. Explain: Today you are going to write about what Despereaux
did or what happened to Despereaux in these chapters. Do a
sample piece of writing on the smartboard using the events from

the chapters we read yesterday. In the story Despereaux was Rubric to assess writing (below)
