unit withdrawn due to turbine shaft vaibration very high.(Turbine Brg./cv/rotor/bal)

TTurbine hand tripped from control room, Generator tripped on revere power protection, Boiler tripped on RH
Protection.
5 A) Obseruations :-
Unit was running at 425 MW @ 17:45 Hrs, TG set bearing and Shaft vibrations found increasing eventhough all
other parameters were normal. So as to reduce the vibrations load was reduced to 286 MW, but the vibrations
were found increasing.
As the vibration level were increasing continuously (HPT front shaft : 196 Microns), Turbine was hand tripped @
17:56 Hrs.

5 B) Remedial Action/work done :-

Boiler immediately lighted up as after tripping vibrations got normalised & synchronisation activities started.

6. Root Cause Analysis :-

Matter is being continuously conveyed & follow up to M/s BHEL after each incidence, for this matter is conveyed
for detailed analysis as per ref. CHN/TM-II/U2000301 dated zglOLlzOLS & CHNrTM-II/U2000334 dated
30101120L5. CE (nC), Nagpur & Mis BHEL representative visited U-7 on 03.02.2015, collected vibrations reading,
repoft will be submitted after detailed analysis.
