Thepackagewillonlycalculatethestresses,deflections,etc.WhatIamtryingtoanalyzeisthebucklingofthemainskidbeamsbeingcompressedaxiallyfromhorrizontalforce

influence.However,ifyouconsiderthatbothrailshavethesameloading,andmaybothbuckleinthesamedirection,wouldyoureallytakecreditforthesupportprovidedbythe
transversemembers?

requiredtestsforthisskidwillbetoremovetwodiagonalshacklesandpulltheremainingtwoshacklesto1.5XtheMGWoftheskid.Inthiscase,transversememberswillcomeinto
play,andyouwilldefinitelynotbetreatingtheskidashavingpinnedbeams.Thecornerswilltakesome(potentiallylarge)bendingloads.Yourtransverseandverticalmemberswill
contributesignificantlytocarryingtheloadofthe2partpulltest.Thememberreceivesbothbendingandcompression.
