description
The Laser Sensors are part of the BAS
(Berthing Approach System ) which is a
modular part of the Mampaey Imoor system to
provide the key vessel approach information
for a safe and efficient approach to the berth.
The Mampaey Laser Sensor is compact, Class 1
eye-safe. Two laser sensors are installed on
the jetty one for bow and one for stern.
With the information of both laser sensors the
BAS provides the following information :
Distance
Speed of Approach
Speed Alarms
Indication if speed is accelerating of
decelerating
Angle of Approach
Angle Alarms
Drift-off (after vessel is moored)
The sensors have many proven applications in
the marine environment. They need minimal
maintenance and have an excellent long-term
stability. The laser sensor is installed with an
adjustable mounting frame on the platform or
a breasting dolphin.
The laser sensors have direct profibus output
for connection to the Imoor network. Data is
post-processed on a PLC which provides
distances, speeds, angle and alarms to Large
LED Display and Computer System.
