SPECIFICATION OF WORKS

The work shall be carried out according to approved norms of NEA construction
standard. Work shall be carried out as per the instruction of NEA site supervisor .work shall be
carried without harming and Damaging any materials, equipment, accessories, hardware etc. The
safety rules of NEA shall be strictly observed at all times by the contractors.

1. Poling work of steel tublar pole.

This Work shall cover excavation of earth, erection of pole by one- sixth part of length of
pole and pole set to stand perpendicular , backfilling the excavated soil and material , ramming
and Compaction as per the construction standard of NEA and as per instructed by site supervisor.

2. Cabling work of XLPE cable.

This work shall carry out by unrolling cable drum, straightening the cable, inserting cable
into HDPE pipe and laying the cable in cable trench. The cable shall be protected by GI pipe of
4dia. At the rising portion on the pole .The pipes shall be fixed to the pole with suitable clamps
from 0.3 meter below the ground to 2.5 meter above the ground.

3. Cable termination work of XLPE cable.

This work shall carried out by jointing of cable termination with required cable
including heating the insulating material of termination kit with blow lamp , shrinking, fixing the
cable socket or as given instruction of manufacturer and connection of cable at the overhead line
of pole.

4. Stringing work of ACSR conductor

This work carried out by fixing all necessary hardware like cross-arm channel, clamps,
nut bolt, pin insulator, disc insulator ,ACSR conductor role out from drum , straightening of the
conductor and stringing the conductor as instructed in construction standard of NEA

5 Installation of Gang Switch.

Fitting of all hardware, channels, installing the gang switch, grounding work, adjustment
the alignments, connection with overhead lines without damaging any parts of switch and
hardware.

6 Cable jointing work of XLPE cable

This work shall carried out by jointing of two XLPE cables with straight through cable
jointing Kit by heating the insulating material of termination Kit with blue lamp, shrinking,
fixing and Jointing or as instruction given by the manufacturer.

7 Installation of 9 KV Lightning Arrester.

This work shall cover fitting of cross arm, channels, clamps, nut bolts, installation of
lightning Arrester making connection with line and grounding for cable, metering unit,
sectionalizer switch.

8 Earthing Work.

This work shall cover grounding work at cable termination points of line, XLPE cable
termination points. Each set of grounding work shall be done as shown in drawing .Each set of
grounding work shall composed of copper plate , copper wire and 50 Kg of salt and 3cft of
charcoal. The ground wire shall be protected by GI pipe of dia. at the rising portion on the
pole. The protection pipes shall be fixed to the pole with suitable clamps from 0.3 meter below
the ground to 2.5 meter above the ground.

9 Fixing of stay set

This work shall cover excavation of earth and fixing of stay plate, stay rod, stay wire, eye-
bow, Stay clamp and fitting of stay insulator backfill the excavated soil and material ramming
and Compaction, as per the construction standard of NEA and as per instructed by site
supervisor.

10 Trench work.

Cable trench work shall be done as shown in the drawing. Each meter of cable trench
contains earth work excavation 1.18m3, sand filling 0.1094m3, back filling 1.00m3, and brick
laying work of 0.5 m2. And as per instructed by site supervisor.

Drawing of Cable laying Work

XLPE cable lying and cable head work should be done in direct supervision of NEA.
Cabling depth should be greater than 1 meter cabling, pipe should be covered by warning tape
and brick laying works.
