Question one

Artificial forcing as used in the context is the concept of feeling contented with the

prevailing conditions despite having the knowledge that it is not worthwhile. The people are

compelled by the law as well as blatant discrimination to be submissive to authority so that they

will feel inferior and quit the genuine struggle for social, economic, and political freedom.

Question two

He wants his community to struggle because liberty is not a given but an earned attribute

of every society. The toil against racism required a long-term solution characterized by respect

and inclusion in the transactions of the nation. Therefore, the struggle was not meant to be

violence and social unrest, but seeking the rightful place in society through the pursuit of

education. Since the government was not willing to offer support for the African Americans,

Booker T Washington was encouraging the black people to start their businesses and engage in

farming activities. This way, they could prove to the white majority that they were capable of

contributing significant support to the American economy. Furthermore, the struggle was

intended to be an encouragement to the blacks that once the rights are granted, they should act

responsibly.

Question three
Surname 2

For the civil rights groups of the 20th century, the passage could be a motivation for the

continued struggle for freedom. The lobby groups would encourage the victims of racism to

work harder. However, the struggle would be coupled with demonstration due to the

establishment of oppressive and racist laws that led to open segregation.

Question four

The speech would still be applicable in the 21st century because there are still groups

whose rights have been denied. For instance, the current segregation is through sexual, religious,

and regional affiliation. These groups of gays and Muslims need to prove their worth to society.
