I. INTRODUCTION
This is a complete walkthrough for Radiant Historia, one of the best RPGs
that
I have played in years. If you want to play an RPG with awesome music, an
epic
plot, and simple, yet engaging battle mechanics, this is the game for you.
I hope this walkthrough will help you have more fun with the game and
provide
information organized as efficiently as possible. It includes the
elemental
weaknesses of every monster, as well as every treasure in the game that I'm
aware of. The recommended levels are for the main character and based on
fighting every random encounter, so as to avoid the need to level-grind.
However, even if your levels are well below mine, don't worry about it.
If you have some new information, know something I missed, know a better
way to
do something, got a death threat, or a marriage proposal, please send your

During the walkthrough, I will follow this format for each section of the
game.

To Second Ward
[Daydream node]
After receiving your first mission, let's promptly ignore it and go
treasure
hunting first. To your left, you should find a chest which contains 2
SOOTHING
BALMS. Take the central elevator up to the third floor and open the chest
to
the right which contains a CHARM (ATK+1/MAG+1/HP+3, equip on Raynie). Now,
head down to the first floor. In the upper right room are two chests which
contain a HOLY WATER and 2 HERBAL TEAS.
In the Second Ward, there is a tavern to the left and the equipment shop to
the
right. Climb both stairs on the right and run down to a chest which
contains
an HERBAL TEA. Return to the main corridor and head down to the First
Ward.
Climb the stairs to your right and follow the path around to a chest which
contains 300 G. Go back to the corridor. To the left is the item shop and
the
inn is to the right. Check out the inn's second floor where you can find a
chest which contains BEAST SKINS (DEF+9/MDF+12, equip on Stocke).
With the new money you found, return to the equipment shop and purchase a
Custom Sword for Stocke. Hand down his old Bronze Sword to Marco and sell
your
excess equipment. As you leave the city, talk to Rosch, and continue to
Lazvil Hills.

Immediately upon your arrival, you are thrown into some tutorial battles.
The
instruction manual and in-game tutorials go over this well enough, so I
don't
feel the need to do so again. When you regain control of Stocke, head east
to
the Woodland Path. Below you, is a chest which contains 3 SOOTHING BALMS.
Continue east to another scene.
Once again, promptly ignore where you are told to go, and head down to a
chest
which contains 3 ROYAL JELLIES. Now, head north and complete another
tutorial
battle. Proceed north to Highway West and you will gain the Strike
ability.
Use it to stun enemies on the field, so you can gain a preemptive strike.
Remember the crates in the cave you just passed for later and proceed east
to
the Highway. You cannot reach the chest behind the brush above, so cross
the
bridge to the east.

BOSS TIME: Palomides, Granorg Archer x3
WEAKNESS: HA!
STRATEGY: None. This is a scripted battle that you cannot win. Stocke
might
as well have just stayed in bed this morning.

After some events, you will meet Lippti and Teo of Historia. When you
regain
control of Stocke, first head south to the blockade. Lippti and Teo will
appear again to give you superhuman strength to move them. Again, ignore
the
blockade and head north to the Highway West. Enter the cave and move the
crates to gain access to a chest which contains a BRONZE MAIL
(DEF+14/MDF+10,
equip on Marco). Return to the blockade, follow the path to another
battle,
and you will make it out alive this time.
[Awakening node]
Upon awakening back at Alistel, leave the infirmary and try to leave to the
right. Afterwards, you will be given a critical decision to make.

[Joining Rosch Brigade node]
After talking with Rosch, Raul, and Kiel, Rosch will join your party.
Since
you can only use three party members at a time, use the Party command in
the
menu screen to switch in Rosch for Marco. This will leave you with a mage
to
use, while keeping Marco's MP up for healing outside of battle. Also, give
Marco's Bronze Mail to Raynie, while he is inactive. You should also
switch
Raynie's stronger Spear with Rosch's Light Lance, since he'll be using
physical
attacks far more often.
Before heading to your next mission, you can pick up your first sidequests
now.
Take the elevator down to the first floor and talk to the receptionist
behind
the desk to the left to receive the [Soldier Recruit] sidequest. Head down
to
the First Ward and talk to the soldier on the left to receive the [Night
Watch]
sidequest. You will eventually need to buy two Anti-Sleeps for him, but
they're not available right now.
Check out the inn and talk to the two mercenaries there to advance the
[Soldier Recruit] sidequest. Return to the receptionist to complete it and
receive 1500 G for your reward. Instead of upgrading your equipment here,
I
would save it for now, as better equipment will become available in the
very
near future. Leave Alistel and head for Lazvil Hills again.

This time, the trip through Lazvil Hills is uneventful. There are two
points
of interest. First, the bridge is out, so you'll have to take the long way
around. Second, there is a cave under the bridge where a soldier is
trapped by
a cave-in. There's nothing we can do to help him out for now, but remember
that for later.
The path to Alma Mine is fairly straight-forward. Head west, take the
lower
path south and west to the Woodland Path. Then, go north at the fork and
west
to the exit.

Upon arriving at Alma Mine, you have your second decision to make. This
time,
there is a right and wrong answer. If you want to unlock every node in the
game, you will want to choose the wrong answer, as this unlocks bad endings
throughout the game. Choosing to "Wait in ambush" will unlock
[The Fallen Capital] ending. Otherwise, choosing to "Send scouts" will
prompt
a roadblock in the story that can only be overcome in the other timeline.
Since you are unable to continue further, use Historia to return to "The
Beginning" node. This time, talk to Rosch and tell him you are choosing to
"Stay under Heiss".

You need to find Raynie and Marco, who can be found at the tavern.
Go right to the weapon shop and talk to the kids to the right. Listen to
their
problem and accept the [What Was Inherited] sidequest. Climb the stairs
and
enter the upper right house. Talk to the kids' father to advance [What Was
Inherited]. Rest up at the inn and head to Lazvil Hills.

Feepos can randomly drop a Vital Sword, which would be really nice for
Marco.
You cannot procure any of the treasures yet. Go west to the Highway and
down
the ramp to revise your destination. Walk south to the Woodland Path East,
west around the river, and north to the other side of the river. Choosing
to
"Go to Alma Mine" will unlock [The Queen Ascendant] ending.

Go south one screen and west to the Woodland Path. Along the way, you will
hear something.

BOSS TIME: Desert Pirate Hertz, Red Sand Bram
WEAKNESS: None
STRATEGY: Ideally, you want everyone to take their turns in one round. Use
Change, as needed. Have Marco Grapple Hertz, Raynie cast Thunder, and
Stocke
use Push Assault to reduce their damage output. In subsequent rounds,
Stocke
should finish the combo with Power Wave. Only heal if your HP drops below
100.

For defeating them, you will have saved the merchant Tarquin. In return,
he
will teach you the Bomber Skill. This will also allow you to proceed back
at
Alma Mine in Alternate History. If you want to do so, then skip to ALMA2.
Return north to where you met the spy and enter the cave. Sadly, the
soldier
trapped there has died. Fortunately, you can use the barrel to gain access
to
the chest next to him which contains a BREEZE ARMLET (SPD+1, equip on
Stocke).
Examine the corpse to receive the [Accident in the Cave] sidequest. If
only
we could have saved him before this occurred. It would be rather
inconvenient
to do so right now, and he's not going anywhere for awhile.
There is yet another barrel at the entrance by the right side of Highway
East.
Push it down and blow away the rocks to reach the Southern Path. Behind
the
tree on the right is a chest which contains CELESTIAL TEA. You may want to
return to Alistel to rest up at the inn. Otherwise, return to the Woodland
Path, go west and south to reach Judgement Cliff.

Watch out for the falling
rocks of

Head west two screens and you'll see a path below you. Slowly take a step
down
and swing your sword periodically, hoping to reveal a hidden trap that
would
have otherwise damaged everyone. At the bottom is a chest which contains
SNIPER ROUNDS (ATK+20/MAG+3) that you can sell. Push the nearby barrel
around
the winding path to the left and down to blow away the rocks blocking a
chest
which contains 3 HERBAL TEAs. In the cave above is a chest which contains
2 POWER DOWN PLUS.
Return to the entrance at Old Spring East and take the north exit this
time.
Simply go straight north to reach the exit to the Sand Fortress. You
should
rest up back at Alistel before continuing to the Sand Fortress.

There is no treasure to be found here for now, so it's very straight-
forward.
In the Sand Fortress South area, hug the west cliffs to avoid stepping on
any
traps on the main road. Before entering the fortress, you will also find a
merchant. I would recommend buying 6 Fang Charms, giving 3 of each to
Stocke
and Marco. A Rune Spear will greatly boost Raynie's magic stat. All of
these
will last you for a very long time. However, I'd save the remaining money
for
buying armor later. You can also buy 2 Anti-Sleeps for the [Night Watch]
sidequest, which we'll be completing soon enough. If you can afford it, I
would also purchase a Rune Edge for Stocke. Maybe try buying it after
looting
some of the soldiers. Hand down his old Custom Sword to Marco
The path through the Sand Fortress can be very short. If you just walk
right
up the middle staircases, you can make it up to the third floor without a
fight. Then, walk around the to the right and up the stairs to the exit.
However, I'd strongly recommend fighting every soldier that you can, just
for
the gold and experience. Plus, you still might pick up a Vital Blade from
the
Feepos around here too. When you're ready, go through the door atop the
third
floor for your last trial.

STRATEGY: Marco should cast Magic Boost on Raynie and Stocke, while they

Once they're all out of the way, I would use the Change command to string

spells to finish off the Granorg Defender.

Return to "The Beginning" node and choose to Join the Rosch Brigade. If

have at least 5300 G, then go ahead and buy a Custom Lance for Rosch. Head
down to the first ward and give the two Anti-Sleeps you purchased earlier
to
the soldier on the left to complete the [Night Watch] sidequest and receive
the
Alistel Edge (ATK+16/MAG+6, equip on Marco).
Continue on with the plot as before and return to the site of the cave-in.
For
those who don't remember, go west and south one screen. Then, hug the
river
clockwise until it turns north to where you met the spy in Standard
History.
At this point, the soldier is still alive, so use the barrel to blow away
the
rocks. Talk to the soldier to complete the [Accident in the Cave]
sidequest
and receive the Right-Cut Scroll for Marco, though you can't use it for
now.
You can either walk to Alma Mine or use Historia to skip ahead to [The
Closed
Mine] node.

Go right to the fork, up, and left to find a barrel. Pull it to the right

Jellies on Raynie. For the next part, if you're not going to use Raynie,
then
give her Horn Charms to Stocke. In either case, you will reach the end of
the
mine to the north, and find what you were looking for.

Walk along the western edge of the Sand Fortress South area to avoid any
hidden
traps up the middle. Enter the Fortress and report to Viola.
Walk up the middle of the first floor to the second floor. In the left
room
above, you can rest up in a bed for free. Outside the room, you can find
Kiel
training to the left. Talk to him to learn sword-dancing from him and
upgrade
your Strike ability to be able to cut down tall grass. Return to the
stairs
and continue up to the third floor.
Return to the first floor, walk around to the right and into the upper
middle
room. Talk to Viola first to advance the [A Letter to Tomorrow] sidequest.
Then, talk to Rosch and go with him to inform the brigade of your new
orders.
As the battle begins, you will have another decision to make. Choosing to
"Send reinforcements" will unlock the [Front of Despair] ending.

If you have already learned sword-dancing, then you can continue with the
plot
from here. Before doing so, head north of the save point, and cut the tall
grass to the east to gain access to a chest which contains a FIRST AID KIT.
From the save point, head west to the decision from before and choose
"Abandon
the idea" to proceed onward this time.
Even though she's a bit of a liability at this point, replace Raynie with
Aht,
as she could use the experience, and give her Raynie's Horn Charms. She
can
use elemental traps during battle. The way they work is that you lay a
trap on
an empty tile, then move an enemy or group of enemies onto them for massive
damage. You can also set a trap on an enemy, if the tile was empty when
you
entered the command, and you moved the enemy onto the tile before laying
the
trap. Since she doesn't have any assaults right now, and she's rather
frail,
it's more trouble than it's worth right now, but I'd still recommend using
her
for the experience. Against Goblins, it may not be a bad idea to have her
cast
Polaris in a pre-emptive strike, to protect against poison.
To the northwest are some rocks, and a barrel above them. You know what to
do.
Blow them up to access a chest which contains a BISHOP STUD (DEF+6/MDF+6,
equip on Marco). If you want, blow up the wood or rocks to the west and go
west to Gran Plain West.
Before going south, cut the tall grass to the west to gain access to a
chest
which contains a HOLY WATER. Then, head south to the Forest Clearing. Go
left
of the save point to find a chest which contains 3 ANTI-POISONS. Keep
going
south to where you will set up camp.

BOSS TIME: Fumble, Rare Mushroom

STRATEGY: FINALLY! A boss fight with elemental weaknesses we can exploit!
Start with Marco's Push Assault on Fumble, Fire from Stocke to also take
out
the mushroom, and Poison Break on Fumble. In the next round, have Marco
use
Magic Boost on Raynie, Stocke uses Right Assault on the mushroom, and
Raynie
casts Fire on the two. Once they're all out of the way, I would use the
Change
command to string together six consecutive turns of alternating between
physical attacks and spells to finish off the Fumble before he can call for
more mushroom backup.

For defeating him, you will get some Fresh Meat for dinner. Return to the
Forest Clearing and talk to Vanoss or Liese to sleep the night there. Aht
will
also give Stocke the White Page. In the morning, use the save point to
return
to Historia. With the White Page, Lippti and Teo will unlock your first
Mana
Burst: Turn Break, which can delete an enemy's turn panel. You can fill up
the
Mana Burst gauge by either dealing or receiving damage.
Now, we can begin heading to Granorg. Head north, east, and north one
screen
to return to the Gran Plain Northwest area. Continue north for a small
scene.

Leave the inn, go down the stairs to the shops, and talk to the man in
green,
named Hilster/Hilstar (typo in the game. I'll use Hilster) to receive
[The Ultimate Dish] sidequest. Talk to the merchant on the right to get
some
more information on conuts for the [What Was Inherited] sidequest, though
I'm
not sure if that's a mandatory requirement. If you continue west, you'll
find
a tavern and a small alley behind it.
Return to the Main Street area and head east to the Commercial District.
Stocke will point out your contact, but you should not talk to him just
yet.
Go right to the item shop, where just outside to the left of it, you will
find
a chest which contains 2 MIGHT HERBS. Enter the item shop and talk to the
merchant to advance [The King's Daughter] sidequest.
Climb the stairs next to the item shop and head left to the equipment shop.
I
would ignore the speed handicap and buy two Heavy Mails for Stocke &
Raynie.
Afterwards, talk to the man in the robe below and between the two
staircases.

After receiving your mission, head west to Main Street, and south to the
guard
by the save point. Talk to him twice to receive the [Mankind & Beastkind]
sidequest. Go west to the inn, upstairs, and into the right room. Talk to

man there, whose name is Kaizan, to receive the [One & Only] sidequest.
Leave the inn, walk around its left side, and up the stairs to the west to
find
Liese. Talk to her to advance the [Mankind & Beastkind] sidequest. Return
to
the guard who gave you the sidequest to advance it again.
Head west two screens to the Back Alley, where you will run into some old
friends who disappear. Enter the tavern, and talk to the bartender to get
some
information on where they might have gone.

To Second Ward
Start by searching Hugo's office for a hidden chest which contains 2000 G.
In
Raul's office on the right is a hidden chest which contains a PANACEA PLUS.
Take the elevator down to the second floor, and search Viola's office on
the
left for a hidden chest which contains a SHIELD SEED. Search Heiss' office
on
the right for a hidden chest which contains the RHAPSODY
(ATK+12/MAG+18/SPD+5),
which you should save for Aht later. Leave the castle.
Climb the stairs on the right side of the second ward, and the next set
too.
On the upper platform to the left is a hidden chest which contains 2000 G.
Head down to the first ward, and search the alley behind the item shop for
a
hidden chest which contains the FIRE PACT for Stocke later. Go up the
stairs
on the right, and search left on the upper platform for a hidden chest
which
contains 2 MANA CRYSTALS.
On the second floor of the inn, you can find Kaizan. Talk to him to
advance
the [One & Only] sidequest. If you go to the "A New Mission" node, you
could
also access the upper platform on the left side of the First Ward and find
a
hidden chest which contains 2000 G. Instead, I would stay here and go to
Lazvil Hills.

Use the barrel on the right to blow up the rocks below you to access the
Southern Path. Cut through the tall grass on the left to reach a chest
which
contains 2 HEALING HERBS. Go down the middle path and search the left side
for
a hidden chest which contains a RUNE CLAW (ATK+41/MDF+5) that you should
save
for later. There is a hidden barrel on the right that you can use to blow
up
the rocks below. At the bottom of the Seaside Road is a chest which
contains
2 HERBAL TEAS.
Return to the entrance at Highway East, head west one screen, south one,
and
west one. Definitely use the save point before going near the huge
monster.

BOSS TIME: Giant Boar
WEAKNESS: Fire
STRATEGY: He will start by casting Kiai Charge. If you want to play it
safe,
use some Shield Herbs that you may have won from enemies earlier. Usually,
he
will spend his second turn also using Kiai Charge. In any case, you want
to
string together 8-9 consecutive turns using either Change or your new Mana
Burst: Turn Break. Simply use it to select the enemy's turn to delete it
and
without sacrificing your own turn! Once you have done that, use Magic
Boost on
Stocke and Raynie, then use six Fire spells to defeat him.

For defeating the Giant Boar, you will win the SAVORY BOAR MEAT and advance
[The Ultimate Dish] sidequest. Go north and west at the fork. Search the
upper wall for a hidden chest which contains a SUPERIOR TEA. Proceed west
to
the next area, and cut through the tall grass on the right side to find a
chest
which contains a PANACEA. Go back to the fork, head north and east one
screen.
Cut through the tall grass above to find a chest which contains 3 PANACEAS.
Return to the "Castle Sewers" node and talk to Kaizan at the inn to advance
the
[One & Only] sidequest. Talk to Kaizan back at Alistel again to advance
the
[One & Only] sidequest. Finally, talk to Kaizan at Granorg to complete the
[One & Only] sidequest and receive the FIRESTAR PACT for Aht later. By the
way, do NOT talk to Hilster about The Ultimate Dish sidequest yet or you
will
lose your Savory Boar Meat and have to start over.
Rest up at the inn and return to the tavern. Search behind it to find the
secret passage that leads to the palace.

Finally, from the open area, take the left path on the lower side. Go left

the fork to a chest which contains a MAIL VEST (DEF+22/MDF+17, equip on

but save his Heavy Mail for Rosch. Walk down from the fork and left to a
chest
which contains 2000 G. Head right to find a girl named Claire, who you
should
escort out of here, eventually. You can skip this for now to get some
optional
scenes, but eventually, you will have to do this, which will unlock the
[Escort] node to receive the SMALL SATCHEL and HOLY WATER. On the two paths
on
the right are two chests which contain a WIND ARMLET (SPD+3, save for
later)
and 2 PANACEAS. Now, escort Claire out of the dungeon, rest up at the inn,
and
get ready for a trip to the end.
From the entrance, go up one screen and right two screens. Go up the right
path on the upper side to a chest which contains 2 MANA CRYSTALS. Then,
head
up the left path to a chest which contains a MEDICLOTH. Continue up, left,
and
up one screen to another open area. Pull the lever (Kronk) to lower the
drawbridges and take the lower path on the right to a chest which contains
2000 G. Head right along the upper path on the right side to a ladder
which
leads inside the Granorg Palace.
On the first floor, search the lower right corner for a chest which
contains an
EMERALD (Poison Res +6). I'm not a fan of status resisting equipment, so I
would just sell it. Head to the upper right room and search the upper left
corner for a white sparkle that is your first bomb to disarm. Go left in
the
hallway until you find the second bomb. In the upper left room, pull the
crates out that block a hidden chest which contains 2000 G. Now, head up
to
the second floor.
Search the room on the right for a bomb in the upper left corner. The room
to
the left holds a hidden chest which contains a PANACEA PLUS. Leave the
room
and walk around the back side to find the fourth bomb. On the right side
of
the floor are some crates that you can pull, blocking a hidden chest which
contains 2 MANA CRYSTALS. Head up to the third floor.
In the upper left corner is the last bomb, but you should still collect
some
more treasure. Walk around to the right, but don't go up the stairs. Pull
the
crates to the left out of the way that are blocking a chest which contains
a
LEAF RING (HP+10/MP+10, sell). Climb the stairs and go up to the large
room.
Search the right side for a hidden chest which contains the DARKSHIELD
SCROLL
for Raynie. Don't teach to Raynie right now, or you will have the find the
bombs all over again.
Proceed up to the Sand Fortress North area. In the lower right corner is a
hidden chest which contains 2000 G. Now, you should report to Rosch and
choose
to "Prioritize the Mission" to proceed with the plot, now that the bombs
are
out of the way.

BOSS TIME: Grey Shadow, Granorg Archer x2, Light Granorgite
WEAKNESS: None
STRATEGY: The Grey Shadow will always start the battle with a Power Zone.
If
anyone steps on it, absolutely get them off of it as quickly as possible or
they will kill you. Your first priority should be to take out the Grey
Shadow,
since that will clear the Power Zone. If you have any full Mana Burst
gauges,
use Turn Break on the Grey Shadow, whenever his turn comes around. In the
first round, have Marco use Magic Boost on either Stocke or Raynie. A
couple
spells and physical attacks should finish him off. The rest can be handled
easily without the need for further buffing or healing.

Cedric, who is on the upper platform next to the tavern. Choosing "Don't
show
journal" will unlock the the [A Voice Unheard] ending. Otherwise, choosing
to
"Show Journal" will complete the [A Letter to Tomorrow] sidequest and you
will
receive the NOAH AMULET (Poison/Sleep/Paralysis Res+4, sell).
Return to "Alistel's Offensive" node. Climb up to the third floor and take

STRATEGY: These guys seem to really screw up the turn order to prevent
combos,
so make heavy use of the Change command. First, have Marco cast Magic
Boost on
Raynie. She can one-shot the Archers with any spell, but you'll need G-
Fire to
one-shot the Defenders, or an Assault plus any spell. Depending on the
turn
order, defeat any two of them with an Assault and a spell from Raynie. Try
to
kill the ones that are breaking up your combos, if you can. Otherwise,
just
keep taking them out two at a time. You won't need to heal.

you make it back to the Underground Passage. This time, you can move
around
freely here. Follow the hall up to a fork, where you should first go left

Go east and north one screen. Talk to the woman in pink to receive the
[Despairing Young Man] sidequest. Head south and east one screen, and
check
out the shops with new wares for sale. I would buy a Soul Eater for Stocke
and
a Bloody Pike for Rosch later. The Soul Eater is great for Stocke's
physical
attacks, but you should hold onto his Sorcery Epee for when you want him to
be
casting magic instead.
Return to the "To Granorg" node. Talk to Anna in the upper left corner of
the
Second Ward to complete [The King's Daughter] sidequest and to receive the
RABBIT'S FOOT (MP+10/LUC+15). The Luck stat improves your stealing
ability, so
you may want to hold onto it for later, but it's not critical at all.
Return to the "Castle Sewers" node and head up to the Palace-Front Plaza.
Talk
to the man in the cloak to advance the [Despairing Young Man] sidequest.
Return to "The Resistance" node and talk to him again to complete the
[Despairing Young Man] sidequest and receive the LEFT-CUT SCROLL for Marco,
which you should teach to him immediately.
Leave Granorg and head to the Gran Plain to reach Cornet Village.

corner of
town, behind the wooden stable, is a chest which contains 2 ANTI-POISONS.
The shops are to the left of the save point above. I would buy a Silver
Dagger
for Aht, a Brass Shell, and a Rune Dress for later. Buy 4 Runic Mails to

This is where the difficulty really spikes in the game. If you have not

fighting every enemy up to now, you're probably underleveled. Still,

ton of those Sleep Wings will help immensely. I recommend using Gafka and
Rosch, because they're so far behind on levels, since we don't have access
to
them in Standard History. At the very least, give Rosch some time to gain
experience in battle.

Afterwards, you will be treated to the inn, where you should rest up.

inn are some crates. Move those crates to access two chests which contain
2 SPECIAL TEAS and a HEALING FRUIT. Walk around up to the shops where you
should make the purchases listed above.
Proceed west to the Central Plaza. If you continue left, you will find
some
rocks blocking the road. In the lower left and lower right corners of the
plaza, you can find two hidden barrels that you can use to blow them up.
At
the end of the path is a hidden chest which contains a FEATHER ARMLET. If
you
like, you can explore the HQ to the north or the Castle Gates to the south,
but
there's nothing interesting there.
Return east and follow the path north. Before entering the tavern, search
behind the wall in the lower left corner to find a hidden chest which
contains
the PROTECTION PACT for Eruca. Now, check out the tavern to find Aht and
someone else.

STRATEGY: There are two keys to winning this battle: survival and damage.

time, you won't be able to rely on Sleep and he will be able to kill either

use a Holy Water, or if Aht dies, cast Resurrection. Always play it
conservatively until he either tries to use Fear or Speed Break on you. To
kill him, you will need to rely on Curse and Poison Wings. Use them on him
until you inflict them both, which you can tell when you see two damage
numbers
after he attacks. Afterwards, if you have a spare turn, only attack him,
saving your MP for Resurrection. Once his HP bar looks like it's depleted,
attack him for the win.

cast support and healing spells, so you want to take him out first. I
would

really
hurt. Your main source of damage will be Electric Traps, but don't worry
so
much about getting both of them onto the same one, as taking out Gardner
first.
You could steal a Giant Armor from Palomides, but you already have better.

At this point, Aht should have learned Cross Star and Eruca should have
learned
Blizzard. If so, you really shouldn't have to worry about using traps for
now.
Just use Assault and those two spells to deal with all the enemies.
Return to the well that is north, west, and north one screen from the
initial
save point. Go down the well and the man, named Sword, is ready to talk to
you
now and give you [The Living Legend] sidequest. Leave the well area, then
walk
east two screens and north two screens. You should see a small rock
formation
in the middle. Search around there for the hidden MOON ARMLET.
Head west to find some rocks you'll need to blow away. Go past them, and
west
again. You can find a hidden barrel along the lower cliff that you will
need
in addition to the two visible ones, in order to get past the rocks to the
north, but if you do, you'll be well rewarded with a chest which contains
the
TUNGSTEN MAIL (DEF+42/MDF+24/SPD-2, equip on Marco). Save the Gospel Armor
for
later. Talk to Garland at Cygnus to complete the [MOON ARMLET] sidequest
and
receive the SUNA-WATARI (ATK+42/SPD-4, sell).
Return to "The Beginning" node. Talk to Wand, the boy at the weapon shop,
and
choose "Hope" to advance [The Living Legend] sidequest. While you are
here,
talk to the child by the tavern to advance [The Good Thief's Way]
sidequest.
Return to "The Messenger's News" node and search the upper right corner for
the
hidden SHADE PACT for Stocke. Return to the "Castle Sewers" node. Talk to
a
man in the lower left corner named Pentacle, and choose "The Past" to
advance
[The Living Legend] sidequest. While you are here, talk to the boy to the
left
of the inn to advance [The Good Thief's Way] sidequest.
Return to the "How to Disappear" node, go down the sewers, and head west
one
screen. Search the left of the upper paths to find the hidden SUNLIGHT
PACT
for Eruca.
Return to "The Beastkind Forest" node and talk to Chalice, the lady by the
equipment shop. Choose "All Things" to advance [The Living Legend]
sidequest.
Search to the left of the sparkling bushes at the center of town to find
the
hidden METEORITE PACT for Aht.
Return to the "Waiting at Skalla" node and talk to Sword at the well to
complete [The Living Legend] sidequest. He will introduce you to
Vainqueur,
who can teach new abilities to Stocke, Aht, and Eruca. Talk to him again
to
receive [The Blades Trial], [The Starlit Trial], [The Light Trial], and
[The Three Contracts] sidequests. If you've followed the walkthrough up to
now, you should be able to teach 3 abilities to Stocke, 2 abilities to Aht,
and
3 abilities to Eruca.
Go back to Cygnus and talk to Bram to complete [The Good Thief's Way] and
receive the PIERCING SCROLL from Hertz for Raynie. This would also be a
good
time to return to "A New Mission" to teach those new scrolls to Raynie.
When you are ready, return to the Itolia Wasteland. Simply head straight
north
and blow up all the rocks along the way to reach the northern exit that
will
lead you to Skalla.

Many enemies here are weak to fire, so Stocke's new Wisp Blade can be very
useful in the right battles. Eruca's Burst Light can also be quite
obscene.
At the fork, head south, then east two screens where you will bump into
Liese.
Talk to her to advance the [Mankind & Beastkind] sidequest.
Return to the entrance and follow the northern path to the next screen
until
you reach an open area. In the lower left corner is a chest which contains
a
BEAST CHARM (ATK+10) that you should save for later. Examine the corpse in
the
upper right corner to advance the [Mankind & Beastkind] sidequest. Open
the
hidden chest next to him which contains the ROLL-CUT SCROLL for Marco.
Return
to Liese once more to advance the [Mankind & Beastkind] sidequest.
Return to the "Castle Sewers" node and talk to Liese in the northwest
corner of
the Downtown area to be prompted for a decision. Choosing to "Leave it to
her"
will unlock the [Chains of Hatred] ending. Instead, return to the decision
point and choose to "Believe in him" to advance the [Mankind & Beastkind]
sidequest. Talk to the soldier by the save point on Main Street to
complete
the [Mankind & Beastkind] sidequest and receive the PROMISED KNIFE
(ATK+27/MAG+75/HP-30, equip on Aht). Aht should now be able to one shot
almost
everything with her Cross Star spell.
Return to "The Resistance" node and talk to Will, giving him the Sand Sword
and
receiving 1500 G. Like with the Escort event earlier, you don't have to do
it
now, but if you don't, you will have to do it sooner or later anyway. This
will also enable you to unlock two rather obscure nodes, as well.
Continue the plot to the "Capital in Flames" node at Granorg. Walk north
until
you automatically talk to Will to unlock the [Will's Sword] node. Return
to
the "Wounded Otto" node and continue the plot through the Sand Fortress to
unlock the [Will to the Rescue] node.
Follow the lower path east one screen to a fork. If you like, head east to
see
how Liese's relationship is going. Otherwise, head north. Follow the left
path to the next area where there is a chest which contains a HEALING
FRUIT.
Go back to the fork and take the right path to the next area.
There is another fork ahead. After clearing the enemies, search behind the
trees on the lower left side for a barrel. Move it down to the rocks along
the
lower path to gain access to another small area. Search around for a
hidden
chest which contains the GAIA BLADE (ATK+30/MAG+25/HP+100, equip on Marco).
Continue east to a long road of tall grass. At the end of the path is a
dead
end with a chest which contains 2 TORNIQUETS. Return to the last fork and
follow the northern path to the ruins. You should rest up at Skalla before
entering, first.

passage until you reach a wide open area. Search the center of the area
for a
hidden chest which contains the DIVINE PACT for Eruca. Head right along
the
path to a tiny room with a chest which contains a DIVINE WATER.
Return to the open area and take the upper path to the next room. Follow
path
up, then left two rooms to a fork. The lower path leads to an isolated
chest
which contains 2 SPECIAL TEAS. Go back to the fork, and follow the right
path
until you reach a + shaped area. At the top is another floor panel with a
switch that will open the door above. I would strongly recommend having
two
maxed out Mana Burst gauges before moving on. Then, return to the save
point
and head up to find the Beast Mark and your next test.

the back row. Then use Push Assault and Right Assault to defeat him
quickly.

STRATEGY: Another giant spider, except this one can kill you in one turn.
This
is why I recommended having your maxed out Mana Burst gauges. Use two of
them
to use Turn Break on its first two turns, giving you nine consecutive
turns.
Stocke should lead by using a Magic Herb on Eruca for casting G-Frost.
This is
where Aht will really shine. Her new Dancing Death ability can REALLY
drive up
the combo bonus. Arrange the remaining 8 turns as follows: Dancing Death,
Fire, Dancing Death, Fire, Dancing Death, G-Frost, G-Frost, G-Frost to
defeat
the Guardian.

the recommended purchases listed above. Then, I'd strongly recommend
scouring
the city for every last soldier you can find and kill. They come in large
groups and give great experience.
Besides Stocke and Eruca, use whoever you want in the third slot, as Eruca
can
one-shot almost anything with her Burst Light. For BIG enemies, you may
want
to launch them with Air Assault or Cross Star first. I would try to keep
my
levels pretty even between the others, though keeping Aht a couple levels
ahead
of the others is good, since she learns her final spells two levels after
them.
When you're ready, rest up at the inn, and walk right in the front gate of
the castle. Balsy. Just walk straight up to the throne room to help Eruca
claim her destiny.

STRATEGY: You don't even need buffs for this fight, it's so easy. Have Aht
lay
a Volt Star trap in the lower left corner. Then, use Push Assault and Left

lay down a Heal Zone, which may slow things down, so kill her next. Use
any
Star trap and Assaults twice to take down each Guard, one by one.

Stocke is going to be your magic-user for awhile with his Fire spell able
to
kill anything in one shot, except an Adept. Try to use your Assaults to
conserve Stocke's MP. However, if there is a large enough group of
enemies,
his Will o' Wisp is also very effective. The path through here is pretty
straight-forward with no new treasure. Go north two screens, west two,
south
one, west one, and take the southern exit. You should rest up back at
Celestia
before venturing through Judgement Cliff.

Unfortunately, if you do that, the nearest node is the "A New Alliance"
node,
and you will have to go all the way through Lazvil Hills and Judgement
Cliff
again. However, if you use Stocke's Vanish ability and bypass all the
enemies,
you can make it back to Skalla in a couple minutes. Return to the same
decision and choose to "Send soul to heavens" to advance the [Wandering
Soul]
sidequest. When you are ready, rest up at the inn, leave Skalla, and head
for
the Itolia Wasteland.

[Gafka & the Scrolls] and [The Ultimate Skill] sidequests. With the
Strongman
Book you found earlier, talk to him again and have Gafka fight him. One
shot
of Gafka's Sky Hammer Mana Burst will defeat him. For doing so, Gafka will
learn Musou, which deals 10 hits per use, and is incredible for creating
massive combos, though it only works on the center enemy. If only there
were
another ability that would move all enemies to the center panel...
Leave the village and head back to Skalla for some more scenes. Before
heading
to the Sand Fortress, find Vanoss on the upper left side of town. Talk to
him
to complete the [Wandering Soul] sidequest and receive the CLEANSING CAPE
(DEF+30/MDF+36/MAG+5, sell). Then, talk to Rosch to begin the invasion of
the
Sand Fortress.

stairs.
Bring in Aht to replace Gafka and continue up to meet the commander.

Skalla.
Talk to Marco by the item shop. If you have been following the
walkthrough,
you will finally receive the [At Journey's End] sidequest. If not, search

need to make. Oddly enough, one of the choices occurs AFTER this point in

plot, yet affects it retroactively.

Head right to an intersection and take the lower right path to a chest
which
contains a DIVINE WATER. Return to the intersection and follow the upper
right
path to the teleporter to the next floor.
Go down to an intersection and search the area to the right for a hidden
chest
which contains the MANA CAPE (DEF+21/MDF+68/SPD-3, sell). From the
intersection, proceed down to the teleporter to the next floor.
Walk left to a fork and search the upper area for a hidden chest which
contains
the WIND GOD BOOK for Gafka. From the fork, head left to an intersection
and
take the lower left path. Pull the barricade out of the way to access a
chest
which contains a MYTHRIL MAIL (DEF+38/MDF+64/SPD-2, sell). Return to the
intersection and continue left to the teleporter to the next floor.
Proceed up to an intersection and search the right area for a hidden floor
panel. Step on the switch to activate the next teleporter. From the
intersection, head up, but hug the left wall until you can go through a

that is rather hard to see. Equip Aht with Thauma Charms and examine the
thaumachine there.

For defeating it, you will receive the BLAST CORE for Rosch and advance the
[Thaumatech's End] sidequest. Sadly, there is never a better time to turn
in
the quest than now, so I'd just recommend getting it out of the way. Walk
all
the way out of the lab and talk to the old man by the entrance to complete
the
[Thaumatech's End] sidequest and receive a MEDIBRANCH. It wouldn't hurt to
rest up at the inn, as long as you're here. When you're ready, return to
the
Underground Lab B5 and take the upper teleporter to the next floor.
Head right to an intersection. Above and below you are two barrels that
you
will need to pull to blow away the blockade to the right. Once you've
gotten
past them, continue right to the teleporter to the next floor.
Hug the left wall until you can go through another hard to see path. Talk
to
the engineer to receive the [A Scholar's Creed] sidequest. From the fork,
go
down and search the right path for a hidden barrel. Pull it around to the
main
path to blow away the machine blocking the teleporter to the next floor.
Along the lower left and lower right paths are two hidden barrels.
However,
there are four barricades to use them on. First, use them to blow up the
right
barricades to gain access to a chest which contains a MEDIBRANCH. Teleport
to
the previous floor and back to make the barrels respawn. This time, use
them
to blow away the left barricades. Search the area beyond to find a hidden
floor panel. Push the switch to activate the teleporter to the next floor
up
the center path.

next floor.
Proceed north of the fork to a chest which contains the NIRVANA PLATE

Walk left to the save point. Climb two vines to an isolated platform.

STRATEGY: This first test is very easy. Use the Change command to string
together 6 consecutive turns. Then cast Magic Rise, Spin Strike, G-Fire,
G-Fire, G-Frost, and G-Frost to defeat it.

BOSS TIME: Master x4
WEAKNESS: This is the hardest boss fight in the game. They can inflict
Sleep
on your party members, Power Down, and deal massive damage with their
spells.
Having 9 Sky Drops is a must to resist sleep. You pretty much need Eruca
for
Divine Light, in order to survive. Always play on the defensive. Your
first
priority should be to establish Divine Light on everyone, using Marco's
Trans-turn to help out. Make sure to keep track of how many hits each
characters' shield has left on it. If the guys have at least one hit left,
they should be fine. However, with her low HP, Eruca needs to have a full
Divine Light shield at all times. You could use Star Traps with Aht to
take
them out one at a time. However, I think it's faster to hit them all at
once
with either Will o' Wisp and/or Burst Light, boosted by Magic Rise, if you
ever
have a spare turn.

For defeating Vainqueur, you will have completed [The Final Trial]
sidequest
and receive the TRUE HISTORICA (ATK+70/MAG+34/SPD+5). I still prefer the
Mythril Edge for its far greater magic boost. If you're trying to complete
every node, you should have completed 217/236 nodes. The rest are all
automatic, assuming you've completed all the sidequests up to now.
Rest up at an inn and return to "The Black Guardians" node. Bring in Aht
and
Marco, equipping the accessories you had before. Examine the black glow in

It will then summon more Shadows. Use the Change command to string
together
five consecutive turns: two for Gafka and three for Eruca. Have Gafka use
Wind
God Strike, Musou, and Eruca cast three G-Frosts to defeat the Black
Chronicle.

STRATEGY: This boss has three forms with no rest in between. Use either
Magic
Herbs or Magic Boost on Stocke and Eruca. Two Musous, a G-Fire, and G-
Frost
should defeat its first form. Its second form is probably the most
dangerous,
due to its variety of statuses it can inflict, which is why I have the Sky
Drops equipped. Recover from any statuses first. Then, use a Turn Break
to
string together at least 6 consecutive turns of at least two Musous and
four
G-elemental spells to defeat it. Its final form can blow away your Mana
Burst
gauges and deal massive damage, so use your remaining two Turn Breaks the
Change command to string together ten consecutive turns of Musous, followed
by
G-elemental spells for the final victory.
