on June 12th. We are encouraged to take up this fast in preparation for the Feast day of Saints Peter and Paul that will be commemorated on July 12th. FEAST DAY Celebrations in July: Friday: July 7th: Birth of St. John the Baptist: Divine Liturgy at 10 AM. Wednesday: July 12th: Feast Day of Sts. Peter and Paul: Divine Liturgy at 10 AM. HAPPY INDEPENDENCE DAY: On July 4th we celebrate Independence Day. This is a day in America where we celebrate the day with picnics, parades, and end the day with great fireworks. Let us take a moment and reflect on the day of July 4th 1776 that represents the Declaration of Independence, the land of the free and our Independence as a nation. Let us take a moment on this day and Thank Our Good Lord for all the Blessings He has showered on our nation, our Leaders, and those who have worked hard to continue our freedom to this day. GENERAL CONFESSION will be held again on Sunday, July 2nd. Please make an effort to come to General Confession so that you can receive the Body and Blood of Our Lord and Savior. BANNS OF MARRIAGE are announced for the servant of God, Michael Morvay, a member of our Parish and trustee, son of Protodeacon John Morvay and Matushka Donnalynn and the Handmaiden of God, Kimberly Riley, daughter of Michael and Joanne Riley of Jackson. May God Grant them Health, Prosperity, Long Life for Many Blessed Years as they are joined in the sacrament of Holy Matrimony. Many Blessed Years! SUMMER MONTHS: The summer months are the toughest months financially for our Parish. With the addition of electricity bills mounting it is difficult at times to meet the rising costs. Summer months mean lower attendance that in turn lowers our collections. If you would like to help out during these summer months, please see Matushka Ludmila at the candle desk. Your help in this matter is greatly appreciated! The Psalmist says, Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity! (Psalm 133.1) This is not simply a pious statement, but rather a call for us to care for one another, to strengthen our bond with our brothers and sisters in Christ, and to strive to love all, even our enemies, with the very same love we offer to God Himself. -His Beatitude, Metropolitan Tikhon PARISH DUES: Have you paid your church dues for 2017. If not please see Matushka Ludmila at the candle desk. If you would like to join our parish it only costs $175.00. We welcome you and others to join! SPECIAL THANK YOU to our Sisterhood and Brotherhood who have graciously taken on the cooking duties this past year for our monthly dinners. They have always provided the best luncheons and dinners for our beloved faithful. Since summer is upon us we will take a short break from the monthly luncheons and resume them in September. May the Good Lord Grant peace, health, long life to these individuals. Many Blessed Years! CLEAN UP AROUND PARISH HOME: We have about six pine trees that we would like to remove on our Parish Home Property. Are you available to help out in this initiative? We would like to begin this process on a Saturday in July. There are five Saturdays in July when this could be done. Can you either help out on July 15th or July 22nd? Please let Father John know if you can help and what date so we can put together a team of volunteers to spruce up our front property. WALL RENOVATION: Due to the amount of rain that has been falling in May and the beginning of June we have been slightly delayed with the wall renovation. Im hoping by the publication of this newsletter we can officially say that we have begun and finished our retaining wall. Again, sorry for the delay, but now it has been the weather. PRAY FOR VOCATIONS!!!!!!!!!
