Training Description:
This program is designed to provide the participants with knowledge and skills needed for operation,
maintenance and troubleshooting of static equipment. included Pressure vessels, Separators, Heat
exchangers, Towers, K.O. Drums. Theory and practice will be explained and case studies examined.
Training Objective:
By the end of the training, participants will be able to:
Have the basic understanding of Failure Mechanisms & Troubleshooting techniques of static equipment
being used in Oil and Gas industry, knowledge of corrosion mechanisms and protection through better
understanding of material selection
Training Program:
DAY ONE:
PRE-TEST
Introduction & Fundamentals of Materials Selection, Types & Failures
Corrosion & Corrosion Protection
Positive Material Identification Testing
DAY TWO:
Operations of Static Equipment i.e. Heat Exchangers, Pressure Vessels, Columns, Valves, Piping
1. Piping system: Types of pipe, Methods of joining pipework, Pipe fittings
2. Valves: Valve types, The function of a valve, Valve materials, Main parts of a valve, Valve
identification.
3. Safety valve: Operation, technology, Rupture discs
DAY THREE:
4. Heat Transfer and Exchange: Tube and shell heat exchangers, Tube sheet layout, Baffles,
Plate exchangers, Fin fan coolers/condenser, Troubleshooting
5. Separators: production and test separators separator theory, Functions of separating
equipment, Conventional separators
6. Towers: types of towers, Heat and mass transfere in towers, internal components,
troubleshooting and maintenance
DAY FOUR:
Relevant Troubleshooting Techniques
o Ultrasonic emissions and leak detection.
