GNSC network provisioner - Tier 2

Duties:
1st & 2nd tier provisioning activities across all TDM, VOIP and IP Data networks.
Processing all new, adds, change and disconnect orders from the start of orders to
installation, testing and acceptance of the circuits. Provide constant updates to all
interested parties.
Handling all Carriers, Network expansion and DID orders for GlobeTalk product.
Network elements access for provisioning activities.
Remedy work ticket reception, creation and handling (POMPS 2)
Support GNSC staff for circuit testing with carriers in support of provisioning and fault
isolation.
Veraz Soft switch activities including:-
o Manual routing/ Pre-translation changes, additions and deletions.
Number portability implementation. Mentioned below
Callout availability for emergency issues.
Network change orders vetted for feasibility and network elements allocated to deliver the
required service for National & International Retail/Carrier/Callshop interconnects, Direct
connect customers and Digitalk interconnects, C7, IPLC, Q931,SIP,H323 and VOIP .
Manage the US & EU Mux cross connections and port allocations. Mapping Transmission
paths though the ECI/T::DAX and Marconi MSH Primus digital transmission networks
Work orders issued to all parties involved in the build, testing and commissioning phases
for network augmentation, Creating Data sheet for Data build.
Trunk Notifications issued to maintain Traffic Analyser (T.A) configuration.
Implement update, and maintain record systems & PCS.
Primus own and 3rd party number base;
Changes to existing numbering.
EU: C&W Customer Link & Gamma Portal CLI management
Primus CLI management and record maintenance
Number Translation.
Vodafone Corporate Provisioning;
Handset and accessories provisioning
Billing of handset and accessories to Primus Customers
Recording and reporting for the above.
Log the progress of orders in Xpercom (circuit and equipment database) and Remedy
and complete the inventory of orders assigned.
Populate financial and circuit informations and build circuit path in Xpercom.
Coordinate with Translations, Data Engineering, NSC and Finance/ Billing as required.
Support cost saving and individual projects as they are assigned.
Escalating orders that are missing their FOC.
Pricing circuits with vendors as required.
Support other team members as a backup as needed.
Provide feedback/suggestions on processes, systems, and issues encountered in
processing orders to ensure the process is continually improved.

Skills:
Good understanding of TDM and SDH principles.
o Solid knowledge of C7, IPLC, Q931 (ISDN).
o Good understanding of digital switching principles.
o Good understanding of physical connectivity principles used in Telecoms (DDF,
ODF, PDU, etc).
o Solid knowledge of digital transmission principles, equipment and connectivity.
 Good understanding of IP and data network principles.
o Solid knowledge of IP, ATM, VOIP (SIP & H323), DSL
Good coordination and communication skills for the following:
o With Primus staff for support & fault resolution.
o With 3rd parties for interconnect turn ups & fault resolution.
Understanding of criticality of network records maintenance.
Microsoft Office Word, Outlook & Excel competence.

Desired experience:
1-3 years experience in the provisioning field.
TDM/VOIP platform provisioning: Veraz soft switch, Veraz Media gateways, ACME
session border controllers, Broadsoft VoIP platform, Digitalk prepaid call platforms, STP.
IP platform provisioning: Cisco routers/switches, Redback, Extreme Networks.
Digital transmission equipment provisioning: ECI TDAX digital Tx. cross connect
equipment, Marconi/Ericsson SDH Tx. equipment.
To be phased out platform provisioning: ECI/TIGN TDM switches, Nortel TDM switches,
Lucent ATMs.
Experienced with translations, routing and SS7/C7 signalling issues.
Experience on any digital TDM switches.
Experience on any soft switch.
Experience on any SDH digital transmission network.
Experience on any Cisco routers/switches.
