ADMISSION NOTIFICATION No. 8/2016

2-year M. Tech in Embedded Systems and Solutions; 2-Year M. Tech in Computer
Science and 4-Years B. Tech. Programmes
On-line applications are invited from eligible candidates for admission to 2-year M. Tech.
programmes and various branches of 4-year B. Tech. programme for the academic session
2016:
a) M. Tech
1. Main Campus, University of Kashmir

M. Tech. in Computer Science (Department of Computer Science)

b) B. Tech

I) Electronics & Communication Engineering (ECE)
II) Mechanical Engineering (ME)
III) Electrical Engineering (EE)
3. North Campus, Delina, Baramulla
IV) Computer Science & Engineering (CSE)
I) Important Dates:
Submission of On-line Forms From 16th May, 2016 from 2:00 PM
Last Date for Submission of Hard Copy 24th May, 2016

II) Eligibility:
a) M. Tech in Embedded Systems and Solutions
B.E./B. Tech./B.Sc. Engineering in Electrical Sciences (Electronics, Electrical,
Instrumentation, Communications, Computer Sciences), M. Sc. Electronics, M. Sc.
Information Technology, M. Sc. Computer Sciences, MCA with 55% marks for general
category and 50% marks for reserved categories in the qualifying examination from
this University or from any other university as equivalent thereto by this University.
b) M. Tech in Computer Science
B. Tech/B E in Computer Science or Computer Engineering or Information Technology
with 55% marks for general category and 50% marks for reserved categories in the
qualifying examination from this University or from any other university as equivalent
thereto by this University.
c) B. Tech
Have passed Higher Secondary Part II (10+2) examination from J&K Board of School
Education or from any recognized Board or equivalent examination with Physics,
Chemistry and Mathematics (PCM) subjects with at least 50% marks, in case of Open Category
and 45% marks for Reserved Categories. However, those of the candidates who have appeared
in Qualifying Examinations and are awaiting their results, can also apply at their own risk and
responsibility;
Must have JEE (Main) Examination 2016, conducted by Central Board of Secondary
Education, New Delhi for B. Tech programme;

III) Mode of Selection:

The selection of a candidate for admission to B. Tech. programme shall be strictly based
on Total Score obtained by a candidate in JEE (Main) Examination 2016. The selection
of candidates to M. Tech. programmes shall be made on the basis of Valid GATE Score.
Admissions shall be governed by the Admission Policy and other terms and conditions
as reflected in Prospectus 2016/University Statutes.

IV) Submission of On-Line Application Forms:
The candidates are advised to follow the below steps for filling their On-Line Application
Forms: -

Step-1: Visit http://www.kashmiruniversity.net and click on Link Admissions 2016.

Step-2: Candidate need to register him/herself before submitting the Online Application Form. For
Registration with the System Click on the Register as Student line. Remember the Username
and Password for future reference.

Step-3: After successful Registration, login into the system for submitting On-line Application Form.
Enter your Registration No. and Click Search.

Step-4: Select the desired Programmes and Campus Preferences and Upload your latest passport size
Photograph and specimen signature.

Step-5: Preview the Form displayed on the screen. If details are correct, click on Submit. If there is
any variation click on Previous button, make corrections and then Submit. Get a printout of
the Form and note the Form No. for future reference.

Step-6: Deposit the application fee of Rs. 600/- for one Programme (plus Rs. 10/- Bank charges)
through Online mode or against the Bank Pay-in-Slip generated with the Application Form, in
any of the branches of the J&K Bank Ltd. across the Country.

V) Submission of downloaded Application Forms (Hard copy):

The candidates after submitting their On-Line Application Forms must submit the
downloaded Form (hard copy) with the following documents in the Humanities
Block, University of Kashmir, Hazratbal, Srinagar and obtain a receipt for
record.
i) Marks Certificate of the examinations passed;
ii) Copy of JEE (Main) score Card for B. Tech programme and Valid GATE
Scorecard for M. Tech. programmes;
iii) Receipt of fee deposited in J&K Bank;
iv) Reserved Category Certificate (if claiming admission under Reserved Category)

VI) Additional Information:

Number of Seats for B.Tech. Programme at various campuses, other details
related to Admission Policy are reflected in University Prospectus-2016 which is
available on the University Website.
