With reference to your advertisement published in relief website for the above position , I
would like to offer my candidature for the same. I had my Graduation in Agricultural
Engineering (Irrigation and Water Management from Bangladesh Agricultural University
(BAU), Mymensingh-A 4 years course which is equivalent to Master degree from general
university). I had my PGT from NIA/IRRI, Philippines on technical and social aspects of on-
farm water management and Integrated Food security (IPC) from FAO-Bangkok and
Monitoring and Result Measurement (MRM) from Bangkok. After my Graduation from
university, I have more than 25 years of multi-sectoral GO-NGO-UN-INGO-Private sector
experiences in home (21 years with CARE, GTZ, Swisscontact-Katalyst, Save the children,
FAO, iDE and others) and abroad (5 years) as Project Manager and technical specialist.
Have more than 4 years (Afghanistan-2 years, North Darfur, North Sudan-1 year, South
Sudan-1 year, Myanmar-Yangon-4 months) working experiences on agribusiness, value
chains, BWDB-SSFCDI, market development, Private Sector Engagement, community
based food security and livelihoods, Nutrition, DRR, WASH, Climate change, Agriculture,
livestock, fisheries, irrigation and water management, agricultural mechanization activities
with various donors (USAID, EU, DFID, GTZ, SDC).

Currently I am working with iDE as PM for CSISA-MI and CSISA-III (USAID funded Feed
the Future Program), before that, I was with Save the Children as Deputy Chief of Party
(DCOP), Nobo Jibon program (an USAID funded 5 years 55 million USD Food for the
Peace program and based at Barisal. In 2010-13, I have completed my assignment with UN-
FAO-Bangladesh as National Project Manager-EU Food Facility (EUFF-GCP/BGD/043/EC)
Project under FAO-Emergency Rehabilitation Coordination Unit (ERCU) and based at
Khulna. I have clear understanding about donor regulation and procedures. I have
proficiency in MS Word, Power point, Excel and use of emails and internet. I am fully aware
about the problem, difficulties, challenges, opportunities, and threats of implementing
development projects and understanding of DRR, resilience in Bangladesh. Have more than
30 published newspaper popular articles on agribusiness, agro based industries in
Bangladesh. I have relevant degree, experiences and qualification that you mentioned in job
description. Therefore, I do consider myself as an appropriate candidate for this
position..
