This is the case for procurement of 120kN disc Insulators (Antifog) and

220KV Bus post insulator (BPI) and 400KV Bus post Insulators for 220KV &
400KV Switchyard.

Due to proximity of cooling towers from 220KV switchyard, the deposition

of chemicals and formation of scale have taken on the surface of disc insulators
and BPI which causes the conduction and further leads to flash over during foggy
season.

Also due to failure of circuit breakers & CTs and subsequent blasting in
bay 410,411 and 407 in the recent past, all the 400KV spare BPI are used to
restore the system.

Requirement of material is prepared to keep the system healthy condition

(page 7/c) & total approximate cost of purchase will be Rs.61,36,400.00 plus taxes
and levies extra.

The committee recommended to approve the requirement and further

purchase the material through open tender process under DOP item 30(1).
