read on the holiday of Purim and how the Jews ended up in Persia in
the first place.

the story of Purim and specifically name all characters and their
characteristics.
- Students will practice logging in to our class page on Haiku and will
show 100% accuracy to find the necessary content page within the
network.
- Students will use their imagination and creativity to display an
interactive poster depicting a certain scene from the Megillah.

and information fluency, Critical thinking, problem solving, and
decision making, Digital citizenship, Technology operations and

using digital stickers, pictures, and characters from the app.
- Prior to this lesson, students learned the entire Megillah including
the background to it. We focused on characteristics and traits.
- The lesson will be modified to meet the needs of diverse learners.

PROCEDURES AND TIMELINE:

- Introduction: I will open the lesson by asking the question: Who
can tell us where the story of Purim takes place? Who was
Esther? who can tell me one thing they have learned about
Esther?
- Once answered, I will ask the students to open Haiku and find the
sub-page called Interactive Megilla.
- Students will read all instruction on Haiku and start the activity.

Procedures:
- Introduction by the teacher of the Megillah of Esther and Key
questions to review. (2 min).
- Students taking turns answering these questions. (10min.)
- I will ask students to log in to their Haku account and find the sub-
page Interactive Megillah, once they are on it, they will need to
follow the steps written there. (5 min.)
- Students will start planning their poster on a draft paper. (10 min.)
- Students will then open the App called Jewish Interactive on their
iPad and create their own work using pictures, phrases, stickers,
colors, characters and more. (30m)
- I will invite 2 students to the S.B. to show their progress at this
point. (1-2 min.)
- I plan to have a continued lesson for creating and presenting each
students poster to the class.

Closure:
To close the lesson, I will say in one sentence that by celebrating
Purim today, in 2017, is an important Mitzvah as we remember all the
miracles that God did for us. I will mention how great it is to have such
a fun tool like this App to allow us to bring our imagination and
creativity using technology.

ASSESSMENT EVIDENCE:
At the end of class, I will take the students draft papers to grade them
on how they made progress using the time given to them wisely.

MODIFICATIONS:
I am aware that modifications will be made for students who did not
master the objectives and for those ready for enrichment. However,
modifications are not covered in this course and are not part of this
particular lesson.
