Meowth Pattern

Description
This crochet pattern will instruct you in creating your very own little Meowth. Using specified
materials will result in a doll with a height of a little over 6 inches. Using a different size yarn
and hook will result in a different sized doll.

Difficulty
This pattern requires intermediate crochet skills. Skills required include:

Crochet in rounds (concentric rounds recommended)

Changing colors
Sewing pieces together
Embroidery
Materials
Worsted weight yarn, colors:
o Cream
o Light Brown
o Yellow
o Black
o Light Pink
Embroidery yarn:
o Black
Crochet hook: size G/6 4.25 mm
Solid black safety eyes: size 12 mm
Poly-Fil Fiberfill
Yarn needle
Embroidery needle
Pins for positioning

This pattern uses materials that contain some small parts. Young children should be supervised
when handling the finished product.

Abbreviations
ch chain
sc single crochet
inc increase
dec decrease (invisible decrease recommended)
[ ] x# repeat the instructions inside the [ ] # times
[ ] around repeat the instructions inside the [ ] for the whole round
magic ring (also called magic circle) a technique to make the first round. You can also
use the traditional method of: ch 2, [sc] x6 in 2nd ch from hook.
Instructions
It is recommended to read though the entire instructions before beginning so you know what to
expect. For best results, continuously stuff while crocheting. Yarn colors are in bold. The
instruction tables list the round number, instructions for that round, and total number of stitches
in that round. Before sewing it is recommended to pin the parts together so you can correctly
position them.

With Black: embroider smile.

Rnd 19: [sc, sc, inc] around 24

Begin stuffing body
Rnd 27: [sc, sc, sc, dec] around 24

Rnd 30: [dec] around 6
Stuff, close the opening, and fasten off. With Cream,
attach 6 strands of yarn sticking out from face for
whiskers.

Stuff shoulder lightly, close the opening, and fasten off.
Sew arms/legs to body.

Continue stuffing
Rnd 10: [sc, sc, dec] around 6
Stuff lightly, close the opening, and fasten off. Flatten
and sew feet to open side of legs so that the cream parts
are touching. Sew legs to body.
Tail

Rnd 1: With Brown: [sc] x7 in magic ring, leaving a long tail 7
of string through the middle
Rnd 2-3: [sc] around 7
Carefully pull tail of yarn through the middle so it is on
the outside, begin stuffing
Rnd 4-14: sc, dec, sc, sc, inc, sc 7
Pull tail of yarn from the beginning through the tail
between rows 9 and 10 and fasten it so that the tail curl
is secure. Continue stuffing.
Rnd 15-22: Change color to Cream, [sc] around 7
Finish stuffing and fasten off. Sew to lower back of
body with the curl facing up.
