Materials
- 2,5 mm (US 1 ) hook
- 4 different yarns calling for 2,5 mm (US 1 ) hook
- stuffing
- 2 safety eyes 8 mm
Krissie the Matryoshka turns out at a size of 24 cm.
Yarns
I used the following yarns:
Light brown for the body, arms and hood,

Atelier Zitron Trekking XXL color: 225 (+/- 40 gr.)
White/creme for the head and hands,
Phildar Coton 3 color: 32 Ecru (+/- 30 gr.)
Pink for the hearts and bow,
Regia Uni 4-ply color: 1976
Brown for the hair,
Lana Grossa Meilenweit color: 1305
Abbreviations
st(s) = stitch(es)
ch = chain
slst = slip stitch
sc = single crochet
hdc = half double crochet
dc = double crochet
sc2tog = sc nex 2 stitches together (decrease)
2sc inc = sc in indicated stitch 2 times (increase)
Tip!
If you want to give Krissie the Matryoshka a cute appearance you can make her out of sock
yarn and make her head and hands out of cotton (like I did).
In that case you should use sock yarn with gauge: 10 x 10 cm = 30M/42R and cotton yarn
calling for 2,5 mm hook. Because the entire doll becomes smaller with this yarn (about 18 cm)
use safety eyes of 6 mm.
Follow these instructions for the head only if you are working with sock yarn and
cotton yarn:
Head
Make a loop with white/crme.

Round: 10.-17. sc in each st around (8 rounds)
1. 6 sc in the yarn loop and tighten the loop.
18. [sc in next 16 st, sc2tog] 3x (51 sts)
2. 2 sc in each st around (12 sts)
3. [sc in next st, 2sc inc] 6x (18 sts)
4. [sc in next 2 st, 2sc inc] 6x (24 sts)
Place the eyes between round 17 and 18 with
7 sc between
When you use yarns with the same gauge please work the instructions for the head on the next page.
Head
Make a loop with white/creme.
Round: 12.-21. sc in each st around (10 rounds)
Place the eyes between round 21 and 22 with
10 sc between
Break yarn (leave a 10 cm long tail) and put it in the head. Fill with some stuffing material.
Hood
Make a loop with light brown.
Round: 9. [sc in next 7 st, 2sc inc] 6x (54 sts)
12.-23. sc in each st around (12 rounds)
Cut the yarn while you ensure to leave enough yarn to attach the hood to the head.
Put the head into the hood and tightly fill the head with
stuffing. Sew the hood onto the head.
Make sure that the bottom of the head and hood are
firmly attached to each other.
This is required because you will have to attach
it to the body cap.
Body
Make a loop with light brown.
Round: 32. sc in each st around (66 sts)
34. sc in each st around (63 sts)
26. sc in each st around (75 sts
Cut yarn and make sure you leave enough yarn to attach the head to the body. Fill with some stuffing material.
Arms
Make a loop with white/creme.
Round:
3. sc in each st around
Change color and continue with light brown.
12. sc2tog, sc 14 (15 sts)
18. sc2tog, sc 13 (14 sts)
24. sc2tog, sc 12 (13 sts)
30. sc2tog, sc 11 (12 sts)
Fill the arms with a little bit of soft stuffing and sew or sc tog the 2 opposed st (sc 6) after its done break yarn
and make sure you leave enough yarn to attach the arms to the body. Make another one. Sew the arms onto
the body.
Hearts
Make a loop with pink.
Ch 2, hdc 1, dc 3, hdc 3, ch 2, hdc 3, dc 3, hdc 2.
Tighten the loop.
Cut yarn and make another one.
Sew the hearts onto the body.
Embroider with a rest of red yarn a little red

Mouth (3 rounds under the eyes).

Piece of hair
Cut 5 pieces brown yarn. Make sure they are long enough (50 cm) so you can knot them in 4 stitches under
the hood.
Insert all the pieces yarn one by one through the neck.
And there is she! Isnt she lovely??
