Light-based hair removal is one of the most effectivemethods to
treat unwanted body hair with longer-lasting results. It is different from
current home hair removal methods because itsignificantly reduces
hair regrowth. Philips has been investigatingthis method together with
leading dermatologists for over10 years. You can now use this innovative
technology comfortably in the privacy of your own home, whenever and
wherever you want.
This appliance has been specifically designed and optimised for use by
women, but can be used by men as well.
Philips Lumea Precision Plus enables treatment of unwanted hair on the
whole body, including the face (upper lip, chin and sideburns), using two
tailored attachments.

This method provides you with long-lasting hair regrowth prevention and
silky-smooth skin. Ourstudies have shown a significant hair reduction
already after two treatments. Optimal results weregenerally achievedafter
four to five treatments. A reduction in hair density is visible from treatment
to treatment. How fast the effect becomes visible and how long the results

A fully charged battery provides a complete body and face treatment
(upper lip, underarms, bikini line and lower legs) in one go, without
recharging breaks.*
*Based on the average treatment times for each area and the
recommended intensities for one user.
Lamp does not require replacement
Philips Lumea Precision Plus is equipped with a high-performance lamp
which does not require replacement. This lamp can generate over
100,000 flashes and should enable you to continuously maintain results for
more than 5 years* while saving money on expensive replacement lamps.
*Based on average usage scenario and recommended treatment regime
for one user.
How Philips Intense Pulsed Light technology works
Hair growth
Hair growth rates differ from person to person, depending on age,
metabolism and other factors. However, everyones hair normally grows in
3 phases.
1 Growing phase (anagen phase)
The hair grows actively from the root. In this phase the concentration of
melanin is highest. Melanin is responsible for the pigmentation of the hair.
Melanin concentration is also the determining factor for the efficacy of this
method. Only hairs in thegrowing phaseare susceptible to treatment with
light.
2 Degradation phase (catagen phase)
Hair growth stops and the root shrinks before the hair sheds.
3 Resting phase (telogen phase)
The old hair separates from its hair follicleand sheds. The follicle remains
at rest until the biological clock tells it to become active again and grow a
new hair.
Working principle
The appliance works by heating up the hair and root beneath the skin.
The melanin in the hair and hair root absorbs the released light pulses. The
darker the colour of the hair, the more light can be absorbed. This process
stimulates the hair to go into the resting phase.
Thehair now sheds naturally and the hair growth is inhibited. Hairs can
take one or two weeks to shed. Optimal hair removal cannot be obtained
with a single session, since only hairs in the growingphase are susceptible
to treatment with light. During a treatment, hairs on the treated area are
usually in different stages of the hair growth cycle. To effectively treat all
hairs you have to repeat the treatment every two weeks for a few times.
An integrated optical filter ensures that no UV light reaches the skin
andguarantees that the appliance is safe for the skin.

-- Water and electricity are a dangerous combination. Do not use this

appliance in wet surroundings (e.g. near a filledbath, a running shower
or a filled swimming pool).
-- Keep the appliance and the adapter dry.
-- If the appliance is broken, do not touch any inner part to avoid electric
shock.
-- Never insert any objects into the appliance.
Warning
-- This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children)
with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, unless they have
been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance
by a person responsible for their safety.
-- Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the
appliance.
-- The appliance is not intended for children under the age of15 years.
Teenagers aged between 15 and 18 years can use the appliance with
the consent and/or assistance of their parents or the persons who have
parental authority over them. Adults from 19 years and older can use
the appliance freely.
-- Only charge the appliance with the adaptersupplied.
-- Do not use the appliance or the adapter if it is damaged.

-- The adapter contains a transformer. Do not cut off the adapter to

replace it with another plug, as this causes a hazardous situation.
-- If the adapter is damaged, always have it replaced with one of the
original type in order to avoid a hazard.
-- Do not use the appliance if the UV filter of the light exit window is
broken.
-- Do not use the precision attachmentif its reddish glass is broken.
To prevent damage:
-- Make sure nothingobstructs the air flow through the ventilation slots.
-- Never subject the appliance to heavy shocks and do not shake or
drop it.
-- If you take the appliance from a very cold environment to a very warm
environment or vice versa, wait approximately 3 hours before you
use it.
-- Store the appliance in the case so that it does not become dusty.
-- Never leave the appliance unattended when it is switched on. Always
switch off the appliance after use.
-- Do not expose the appliance to direct sunlight or UV light for several
hours.
-- Do not flash against any other surface than the skin. This can cause
severe damage to the attachments and/or the light exit window. Only
flash when the appliance is in contact with skin.
Caution
-- Never use the appliance around the eyes and near the eyebrows to
avoid the risk of eye damage.
-- Use this appliance only at settings suitable for your skin type. Use at
higher settings than those recommended can increase the risk of skin
reactions and side effects.
-- This appliance is only intended for removing unwanted body hair from
areas below the cheek bones with the two attachments supplied. Do
not use it for any other purpose.
Keep the following things in mind to avoid compromising the
lifetime of your Philips Lumea Precision Plus:
-- Do not expose the appliance to temperatures lower than 15C or
higher than 35C during use.
-- The appliance is equipped with a built-in overheat protection. If the
appliance overheats, it does not flash. Do not switch off the appliance,
but let it cool down for approx. 15 minutes before you continue with
your treatment.
-- Always return the appliance to a service centre authorised by Philips
for examination or repair. Repair by unqualified people could cause an
extremely hazardous situation for the user.
-- Never use the appliance in any of the cases mentioned in the section
Contraindications.
For whom is Philips Lumea Precision Plus not suitable?
Philips Lumea Precision Plus is not designed for everyone. If any of the
following is true for you, then this appliance is not suitable for you to use!

Contraindications
Never use the appliance ifyou are pregnant or breast feeding.

Never use the appliance if you have an unsuitable skin and/or
hair colour, i.e.:
-- If your natural hair colour in the treatment areas is light blond, white,
grey or red.
-- If you are of skin type VI (you rarely or never get sunburnt and you tan
very darkly; your skin colour is brownish black or darker). In this case
you run a high risk of developing skin reactions, such as strong redness,
burns or discolourations, when you use Philips Lumea Precision Plus.
Never use the appliance if you suffer from any of the diseases
listed below, i.e.:
-- If you have a skin disease such as active skin cancer, you have a history
of skin cancer or any other localised cancer in the areas to be treated.
-- If you have pre-cancerous lesions or multiple atypical moles in the areas
to be treated.
-- If you have a history of collagen disorder, including a history of keloid
scar formation or a history of poor wound healing.
-- If you have a history of vascular disorder, such as the presence of
varicose veins or vascular ectasia in the areas to be treated.
-- If your skin is sensitive to light and easily develops a rash or an allergic
reaction.
-- If you have infections, eczema, burns, inflammation of hair follicles,
open lacerations, abrasions, herpes simplex, wounds or lesions and
haematomas in the areas to be treated.
-- If you have had surgery in the areas to be treated.
-- If you have epilepsy with flashlight sensitivity.
-- If you have diabetes, lupus erythematodes, porphyria or congestive
heart disease.
-- If you have any bleeding disorder.
-- If you have a history of immunosuppressive disease (including HIV
infection or AIDS).
Never use the appliance if you take any of the medications
listed below, i.e.:
-- If your skin is currently being treated with or has recently been treated
with Alpha-Hydroxy Acids (AHAs), Beta- Hydroxy Acids (BHAs),
topical isotretinoin and azelaic acid.
-- If you have taken any form of isotretinoin Accutane or Roaccutane in
the last six months.This treatment can make skin more susceptible to
tears, wounds and irritations.
-- If you are on painkillers, which reduce the skins sensitivity to heat.
-- If you are taking photosensitising agents or medications, check the
package insert of your medicine and never use the appliance if it is
stated that it can cause photo-allergic reactions, photo-toxic reactions
or if you have to avoid sun when taking this medicine.
-- If you take anticoagulation medications, including heavy use of aspirin, in
a manner which does not allow for a minimum 1-week washout period
prior to each treatment.
-- If you take immunosuppressive medications.

Never use the appliance on the following areas:

-- Around the eyes and near the eyebrows.
-- On nipples, areolas, labia minora, vagina, anus and theinside of the
nostrils and ears.
-- Men must not use it on the scrotum andface.
-- Over or near anything artificial like silicone implants, pacemakers,
subcutaneous injection ports (insulin dispenser) or piercings.
-- On moles, freckles, large veins, darker pigmented areas, scars, skin
anomalies without consulting your doctor. This can result in a burn and
a change in skin colour, which makes it potentially harder to identify
skin-related diseases (e.g. skin cancer).
-- On warts, tattoos or permanent make-up. This can result in a burn and
a change in skin colour (hypopigmentation or hyperpigmentation).
-- On areas, where you use long-lasting deodorants. This can result in skin
reactions. See chapter Using the appliance, section Possible side effects
and skin reactions.
Never use the appliance on sunburnt, recently tanned
(last 48 hours) or fake-tanned skin:
-- All types of tanning can influence the safety of the treatment. This
applies to exposure to natural sunlight as well as artificial tanning
methods, such as tanning lotions, tanning appliances etc. If you are
tanned or are planning to tan,see chapter Preparing for use, section
Tanning advice.
Note:This list is not exhaustive. If you are not sure whether you can use the
appliance we advise you to consult a doctor.
Electromagnetic fields (EMF)
This Philips appliance complies with all applicable standards and regulations
regarding exposure to electromagnetic fields.
Charging
Fully charge the batteries before you use the appliance for the first time
and when the batteries areempty. Fully charging the batteriestakesupto
1 hour and 40 minutes.
Charge the appliance when thecharging light lights up orange during use to
indicate that the battery is low. When this happens, the remainingcapacity
isat least 30 flashes.
Fully charged batteries provide at least 370 flashes at light intensity 5.
Fully charge the appliance every 3 to 4 months, even if you do not use the
appliance for a longer time.
Charge theappliance in the following way:
1 Switch offthe appliance.

2 Insert the small plug into the appliance and put the adapter in the
wall socket.
,, The charging light flashes green to indicate that the appliance is
charging.
,, When the batteries are fully charged, thecharging light
lightsupgreen continuously.
Notes:
-- The adapter and the appliance feel warm during charging. This is
normal.
-- You cannot use the appliance during charging.
-- This appliance is equipped withbattery-overheat protection and does
not charge if the room temperature exceeds 40C.
Never cover the appliance and adapter during charging.
3 After charging, remove the adapter from the wall socket and pull the
small plug out of the appliance.
Preparing for use

For optimal results and greatest effect, prepare the areason which you
intend to usethe appliance in the manner described below.
Preparing treatment areas
1 Shave the areas you intend to treat as long as you still experience
hair regrowth.
Note: If your last depilation method involved removing hairs by the roots
(e.g epilating, waxing etc.), wait until you notice significant hair regrowth
before you use Philips Lumea Precision Plus. Do not use depilatory creams
instead of shaving.
Please note that treatment on unshaved or improperly shaved
areas has a number of undesired effects:
-- Thelight exit window and attachment may become contaminatedwith
stray hairs and dirt. A contaminated light exit window andattachment
can reduce the life and efficacy of the appliance. In addition, burns or
black spots that appear on the light exit window and attachments due
to contaminationcan cause the treatment to become painful or cause
skin reactions like redness and discolouration.
-- Hairs on your skin can burn, which can result in an unpleasant smell.
2 Clean your skin and make sure it is hair-free, entirely dry and
free from oily substances (e.g. present in cosmetic products like
deodorants,lotions, perfumes, tanning creams and sunscreens).
3 Check the appliance, especially the light exit window andattachment,
for trapped hair, dust and fibres. If you see any contamination, clean
the appliance according to the instructions in chapterCleaning and
maintenance.
Notes:
-- If shaving causes wounds or lesions, your skin may be more sensitive
and the light treatment may sometimesfeel uncomfortable.
-- Once the hairs stop growing back, which usually happens after
4-5 treatments, you no longer have to shave before you use the
appliance.

Setting the light intensity

Philips Lumea Precision Plus is an appliance developed for consumer use at
home and therefore not comparable with professional light-based appliances
with respect to painsensation.The pulses of light delivered by Philips Lumea
Precision Plus are gentler than those from professional appliances and
therefore you can expect a convenient and effective treatment.
You have to adjust the light intensity to yourskin and body hair colour and
to a level you find comfortable.
Therecommended light intensities table below helps youto establish the
right light intensity.
1 Consult the table below to determine which light intensities are most
suitable for your skin and body hair colour and to check if this method
is suitable for you (if it is not, this is indicated with x in the table).
2 Each body area and possibly even parts of a body area may require a
separate appropriate light intensity according to the recommended
light intensities table below. The method is more effective at higher
intensities, but you should reduce the light intensity if you experience
any pain or discomfort.
Persons with darker skin run a higher risk of skin irritation because their
skin absorbs more light. Therefore lower intensities are recommended
for persons with darker skin.
The light pulse can feel warm or hot on the skin but should never be
painful. To prevent skin reactions, see chapter Using the appliance,
section Possible side effects and skin reactions.

If your skin has been exposed to natural sunlight or an artificial tanning

method, it may be darker than during the previous treatment.Check the
table above to determine which settings are suitable for your skin colour.

Tanning advice
Sun exposure before treatment
-- Wait at least 48 hours after sunbathing before you use the appliance.
Sunbathingcan cause skin to darken (tan) and/or can cause sunburn
(reddening of the skin).
-- After these 48 hours, check the skin for any remaining sunburn. Donot
use Philips Lumea Precision Plus as long as sunburn persists.
-- When the sunburn has disappeared, perform a skin test (see chapter
Using the appliance, section First use) on the area to be treated to
determine the appropriate light intensity.
-- If your skin is tanned, perform a skin test (see chapter Using the
appliance, section First use) on the area to be treated to determine
the appropriate light intensity. A failure to do so causes a risk of
developing skin reactions after treatment with Philips Lumea Precision
Plus.
Sun exposure after treatment
-- Wait at least 24 hours after treatment before you expose treated
areas to the sun. Even after 24 hours, make sure that the treated skin
does not show any redness from the treatment anymore before you
exposeit to the sun.
-- Cover treated areas when you goout into the sun or use a sunblock
(SPF 30+)in the two weeks aftertreatment.
-- Exposing treated areas tosunlight without protection immediately
after treatment can increase the risk of adverse side effectsand skin
reactions. See chapter Using the appliance, section Possible side effects
and skin reactions.
Tanning with artificial light
-- Follow theinstructions in Sun exposure before treatment and Sun
exposure after treatment above.
Tanning with creams
-- If you have used an artificial tanning lotion, wait until the artificial tan
has fully disappeared before you use Philips Lumea Precision Plus.
Note: For more details on unwanted skin reactions, see chapter Using the
appliance, section Possible side effects and skin reactions.
Using the appliance

Check therecommended light intensities table in chapter Preparing for
use, section Setting the light intensityto determine which light intensities
are most suitable for your skin and body hair colour. Use the appliance in
a well-lit room; this reduces the perceived brightness of the flash. Shave
the area you intend to treat before you use the appliance (see chapter
Preparing for use, section Preparing treatment areas).
If the treatment becomes intolerably painful at any point in time, reduce
the light intensity setting until the treatment is comfortable again. If you
notice skin reactions stronger than slight redness, stop the treatment
immediately and read section Possible side effects and skin reactions in
this chapter.

Choosing the right attachment
-- Body attachment
The body attachment can be used to treat unwanted body hair on all
body areas below the neck (for exceptions, see chapter Important, section
Contraindications).The body attachment can cover an area of 3cm and is
ideal to treat large areas efficiently.
Do not use the body attachment on the face.
-- Precision attachment
The precision attachment includes an extra integrated light filter and can
be used to treat unwanted facial hair on the upper lip, chin and sideburns.
It mayalso be used on other sensitive areas on the body, such as
underarms and bikini area or hard-to-reach areas.
Never use aroundthe eyes and near the eyebrows.
First use and skin test
1 Choose the attachment appropriate for the area you intend to treat.

2 Choose an area close to the area you intend to treat.
Note: Before you use the appliance on the upper lip, chin or sideburns, choose
a mole- and hair-free area below your ear to perform the skin test.
3 Press the on/off button to switch on the appliance.

,, The appliance always starts automatically at the lowest setting.
4 Apply one flash at the lowest recommended intensity for your skin
type (for instructions on how to release a flash, see steps 6 to 9
ofsection Subsequent use in this chapter).
5 As long as it feels comfortable(not painful), increase the setting by
one level within the recommended range for your skin type and
apply one flash for each setting. Do not apply more than one flash on
the same spot.

6 After the skin test, wait for 24 hours and check your skin for
anyreaction. If your skin showsreactions,choose the highest setting
that did not result in any skin reaction for subsequent use.
When you use the appliance for the first time, we advise you to perform
a skin test on the area to be treated to check your skins reaction to the
treatment and to get accustomed to light-based treatment.
Subsequent use
1 Before every treatment, clean the attachments, the light exit window
and the metallic frame inside the attachments ofPhilips Lumea
Precision Plus. For more information see chapter Cleaning and
maintenance.
2 Choose the attachment appropriate for the area you intend totreat.
3 Press theon/off button to switch on the appliance.
Note: It is normal that the appliance and theattachment become warm during
use.
4 Start each treatment by selecting the light intensity very carefully,
based on your skins sensitivity andon how comfortabletreatment
feels.
Your skin may react differently on different days/occasions for a number of
reasons. See section Possible side effects and skin reactions in this chapter
for more information.
5 Press the % buttonto increase theintensity. To lower the intensity,

press the ^button.
,, Every time you press the button, the corresponding intensity
lightstarts to flash. This takes a few seconds.
6 Place the appliance at a 90 angle on the skin so that the attachment

and the safety ring are incontact with the skin.

7 Press the safety ringfully onto the skin with slight pressure.
Note:The safety ring hascontact switches that together are thesafety system
of the appliance.This safety ring prevents unintentional flashing without skin
contact.
,, The ready to flash light on the back of the appliance lights up green
when all contact switches of the safety ring are in contact with the
skin and the device is charged.This may take up to 3.5 seconds.
Tip: Foreasier use,stretch the area of skin you want to treat. On areas with
softer skin, you may need to exert more pressure onthe appliance to push in
all contact switches.
8 Press the flash button to release a flash.

Note:The visible light produced by the appliance isthe reflection of the flash
on the skin and isharmless to your eyes. It is not necessary to wear goggles
during use.
9 Let go of the flash button after the appliance has flashed.
10 For the next flash, repeat steps6 to 9. After each flash it takesup to
3.5 seconds until the appliance is ready to flash again.
Do not treat exactly the same area multiple times during one session.
This does not improve the effectiveness of the treatment, but increases
the risk of skin reactions.
11 To avoid untreated areas, always make surethere is some overlap
with the previously treated area when you place the appliance on the
skin.The effective light only comes out of the light exit window. Make
sure the flashes are producedcloseto each other.
12 Switch off the appliance after you have finished the treatment.
13 Check the light exit window and theattachment for hairs and
dirt and clean the appliance after use (see chapter Cleaning and
maintenance).

wish to treat their pubic area must not use the appliance on the scrotum.

Using the appliance on the underarms

Make sure you remove any deodorant, perfume, cream orother skin care
product from your underarms beforetreatment.
Tip:To achieve optimal results on your underarms, stand in front of a mirror to
get a good view of the area to be treated and the ready to flash light. Raise
your arm and place your hand in your neck to stretch the skin in the underarm
area. In this way the safety ring can be pressed more easily onto the skin,
which makes the treatment easier to perform.
Note:The reflected light does not harm your eyes. If the scattered light is

Using the appliance on the face (upper lip, chin, sideburns)

ring into full contact with the skin and to release a flash. Put your tongue
between your teeth and upper lip or puff up your cheeks to make this easier.

How to achieve optimal results
-- It is normal that hairs are stillvisible after the first few treatments (see
chapter Introduction, section Working principle for more information).
-- To remove all hairs successfully and prevent the hair follicle from
becoming active again, the treatments have to be repeated once every
two weeks for the first two months. Your skin should be smooth and
hair-free by then. Please read section Maintenance phase to find out
how you cankeep these results.

Maintenance phase
-- To ensure that your skin stays smooth and hair-free, we advise you
to repeat the treatment every four to six weeks. The time between
treatments may vary based on your individual hair regrowth and also
across different body areas. If too many hairs grow back between
treatments, simply shorten the treatment interval again, but do not
treat any area more often than once every two weeks. When you use
the appliance more frequently than recommended, you do not increase
the effectiveness but you do increase the risk of skin reactions.
Possible side effects and skin reactions
Common skin reactions:
-- Your skin may show slight redness and/or may prickle, tingle or feel
warm. This reaction is absolutely harmless and disappears quickly.
-- A skin reaction similar to sunburn may occur on the treated area for a
short while. If this does not disappear within 3 days, we advise you to
consult a doctor.
-- Dry skin and itching may occur because of the combination of shaving
and light treatment. This is harmless and disappears within a few days.
You can cool the area with an ice pack or a wet facecloth. If dryness
persists, you can apply a non-scented moisturiser on the treated area
24 hours after the treatment.
Rare side effects:
-- Burns, excessive redness and swelling: these reactions occur very rarely.
They are the result of using a light intensity that is too high for your
skin colour. If these reactions do not disappear within 3 days, we advise
you to consult a doctor. Wait with the next treatment until the skin has
healed completely and make sure you use a lower light intensity.
-- Skin discolouration: this occurs very rarely. Skin discolouration manifests
itself either as a patch that is darker (hyperpigmentation) or lighter
(hypopigmentation) than the surrounding area. This is the result of using
a light intensity that is too high for your skin colour. If the discolouration
does not disappear within 2 weeks, we advise you to consult a doctor.
Do not treat discoloured areas until the discolouration has disappeared
and your skin has regained its normal skin colour.
-- Skin infection and inflammation: This occurs very rarely and may be
caused by using the appliance on wounds or cuts that resulted from
shaving, on already existing wounds or on ingrown hairs.
-- Excessive pain: this can occur during or after treatment if you have
used the appliance on unshaved skin, if you use the appliance at a light
intensity that is too high for your skin colour, if you flash the same
area more than once and if you use the appliance on open wounds,
inflammations, infections, tattoos, burns, etc. See chapter Important,
section Contraindications for more information.
After use
-- Do not apply any perfumed cosmetics to the areastreated immediately
after treatment.
-- Do not use deodorant immediately after treating the underarms. Wait

Cleaning and maintenance
To ensure optimal results and a long life for the appliance, clean the appliance
before and after each use and, if necessary, also during the treatment.The
appliance loses its effectivenessif you do not clean it properly.
Never clean the appliance or any of its parts under the tap or in the
dishwasher.
Never use scouring pads, abrasive cleaning agents or aggressive liquids
such as petrol or acetone to clean the appliance.
Never scratch thelight exit windowor the metallic frameinside
theattachments.
Note: Make sure that the contact switchesof the safety ring do not get
congested with dirt.

Tip: If it is no longer possible toclean the edges of the attachmentswith the

Os ndices de crescimento dos pelos diferem de pessoa para pessoa,
dependendo da idade, do metabolismo e de outros fatores. No entanto, os
pelos de qualquer pessoa normalmente crescem em 3 fases.
1 Fase de crescimento (fase Angena)
O pelo cresce ativamente partindo da raiz. Nessa fase, a concentrao de
melanina mais alta. A melanina responsvel pela pigmentao do pelo.

srios danos aos bocais e/ou janela de sada de luz. Somente use o
aparelho sobre a pele.

-- Nunca use o aparelho ao redor dos olhos ou prximo s sobrancelhas,
pois isso pode causar danos viso.
-- Somente use o aparelho com os ajustes adequados para o seu tipo
de pele. Se voc usar o aparelho com o ajuste mximo (em vez do
recomendado), o risco de reaes dermatolgicas e efeitos colaterais
pode aumentar.
-- Esse aparelho deve ser usado, com os dois bocais fornecidos, apenas
para remover os pelos indesejados das reas abaixo das bochecha.
No use o aparelho para outros fins.
Para prolongar a vida til do Philips Lumea Precision Plus, leve
em considerao as seguintes informaes:
-- No exponha o aparelho a temperaturas inferiores a 15 C ou
superiores a 35 C durante o uso.
-- O aparelho possui uma proteo integrada contra superaquecimento.
Quando o aparelho superaquece, ele para de funcionar. Antes de
desligar o aparelho, deixe-o esfriar por aproximadamente 15 minutos
antes de continuar o tratamento.
-- Para avaliaes ou consertos, leve o aparelho a uma das assistncias

Para quem o Philips Lumea Precision Plus no adequado?
Se voc se encaixar em qualquer uma das contraindicaes abaixo,
no poder usar esse aparelho.
Contraindicaes
No use o aparelhose voc estiver grvida ou durante o

perodo de amamentao.
No use o aparelho caso a cor de sua pele e/ou seus pelos no
seja adequada, por ex.:
-- Se a cor natural dos seus pelos nas reas de tratamento for louro-
escura, grisalha, branca ou ruiva.
-- Se o seu tipo de pele for o VI (sua pele raramente/nunca foi queimada
pelo sol ou est muito bronzeada; sua pele est amarronzada ou mais
escura). Nesse caso, voc correr um alto risco de desenvolver reaes
dermatolgicas, como vermelhido, queimaduras ou manchas, ao usar
o Philips Lumea Precision Plus.
No use o aparelho caso voc sofra de qualquer doena citada
abaixo:
-- Doenas dermatolgicas, como cncer de pele ativo, histrico de
cncer de pele ou qualquer outro cncer localizado nas reas a serem
tratadas.
-- Se tiver leses pr-cancerosas ou vrios sinais de nascena atpicos nas
reas a serem tratadas.
-- Se tiver histrico de distrbio de colgeno, incluindo formao de
quelide ou histrico de m cicatrizao.
-- Se tiver histrico de doenas vasculares, como a presena de varizes
ou ectasia vascular nas reas a serem tratadas.
-- Se a sua pele for sensvel luz e desenvolver facilmente uma irritao
ou reao alrgica.
-- Se tiver infeces, eczema, queimaduras, inflamao de folculos
capilares, feridas abertas, escoriaes, herpes simples, feridas ou leses
e hematomas nas reas a serem tratadas.
-- Se tiver feito cirurgia nas reas a serem tratadas.
-- Se sofrer de epilepsia com sensibilidade luz.
-- Se tiver diabetes, lpus eritematoso, porfiria ou doena cardaca
congestiva.
-- Se tiver qualquer distrbio de coagulao sangnea.
-- Se tiver histrico de doena imunossupressora (incluindo infeco por
HIV ou AIDS).
No use o aparelho caso voc esteja tomando qualquer
medicamento citado abaixo:
-- Se a sua pele estiver sendo/foi tratada recentemente com alfa-
hidrocidos (AHAs), beta-hidrocidos (BHAs), isotretinona tpica ou
cido azelico.
-- Se voc tiver tomado qualquer tipo de isotretinona Accutane ou
Roaccutane nos ltimos seis meses. Esse tratamento pode deixar a
pele mais suscetvel a cortes, feridas e irritaes.
-- Se voc estiver sob o efeito de analgsicos, pois eles reduzem a
sensibilidade da pele ao calor.
-- Se voc estiver tomando agentes ou medicamentos fotossensibilizantes,
leia a bula do remdio e no use o aparelho caso esteja especificado
que ele pode provocar reaes fotoalrgicas e fototxicas ou que voc
deve evitar a exposio ao sol durante o uso do remdio.
-- Se tomar medicamentos anticoagulantes, incluindo o uso intenso

de aspirina, de forma que no seja possvel suspender o uso por no
mnimo uma semana antes de cada sesso.
-- Se tomar medicamentos imunossupressores.
Nunca use o aparelho nas seguintes reas:
-- Ao redor dos olhos ou prximo s sobrancelhas.
-- Em reas como mamilos, pequenos lbios, arolas, vagina, nus, dentro
das narinas ou dos ouvidos.
-- Homens no devem usar o aparelho no escroto ou norosto.
-- Sobre ou prximo de qualquer coisa artificial, como implantes de
silicone, marca-passos, pontos de injeo subcutnea (aplicao de
insulina) ou piercings.
-- Em pintas, sardas, varizes, reas mais escuras, cicatrizes e anomalias
cutnias sem consultar o mdico. Isso pode causar queimaduras e
alterao na cor da pele, dificultando a identificao de doenas
dermatolgicas (como o cncer de pele, por exemplo).
-- Em verrugas, tatuagens ou maquiagem permanente. Isso pode
causar queimaduras e alterao na cor da pele (hipopigmentao ou
hiperpigmentao).
-- Em reas que voc usa desodorantes de longa durao. Isso pode
causar reaes dermatolgicas. Consulte o captulo Utilizao do
aparelho, seo Possveis efeitos colaterais e reaes dermatolgicas.
No use o aparelho sobre a pele queimada pelo sol
recentemente (nas ltimas 48 horas) ou com bronzeamento
artificial:
-- Qualquer tipo de bronzeamento pode interferir na segurana do
tratamento. Isso se aplica tanto exposio luz solar natural quanto
a mtodos de bronzeamento artificial, como loes bronzeadoras,
aparelhos de bronzeamento etc. Caso voc esteja/queira ficar
bronzeada,consulte o captulo Preparao para o uso, seo
Recomendaes sobre o bronzeamento.
Nota: H muitas outras contraindicaes. Caso voc no tenha certeza se
pode usar o aparelho, recomendamos consultar um mdico.
Campos eletromagnticos (EMF)
Este aparelho Philips est em conformidade com todos os padres
aplicveis e regulamentos relacionados exposio a campos
eletromagnticos.
Carregamento
Carregue totalmente as baterias antes de usar o aparelho pela primeira vez
e quando estiveremdescarregadas. Demoracercade1 hora e 40 minutos
para carregar totalmente as baterias.
Recarregue o aparelho quando as luzes indicadoras decarregamento

acenderem na cor laranja, indicando que a bateria est fraca. Quando isso
acontece, o aparelho ainda consegue emitir 30 flashes de luz.
Com as baterias totalmente carregadas, o aparelho emite, pelo menos,
370 flashes de luz no nvel 5 da intensidade de luz.
Carregue totalmente o aparelho de 3 a 4 meses, mesmo que voc fique
sem us-lo por um longo tempo.
Carregue oaparelho da seguinte maneira:
1 Desligueo aparelho.
2 Insira o pequeno plugue no aparelho e coloque o adaptador na

tomada eltrica.

,, Quando as baterias estiverem totalmente carregadas, a luz indicadora

3 Aps o carregamento, remova o adaptador da tomada eltrica e
desconecte o pequeno plugue do aparelho.
Preparao para o uso

Para obter os melhores efeitos e resultados, prepare as reasque deseja
depilarconforme descrito abaixo.
Preparao das reas de tratamento
1 Raspe as reas desejadas at que no haja mais pelos.
Nota: Caso voc tenha removido os pelos pelas razes da ltima vez em
que depilou (por exemplo, depilao com cera), espere at que eles cresam
novamente antes de usar o Philips Lumea Precision Plus. No use cremes para
depilao em vez de remover os pelos.
Nota: o tratamento em reas com pelos ou que no foram
raspadas corretamente pode apresentar inmeros resultados
indesejados:
-- Ajanela de sada de luz e o bocal podem ser contaminadoscom
pelos soltos e sujeira. Se a janela de sada de luz e obocal estiverem
contaminados, a vida til e a funcionalidade do aparelho podero
ser reduzidas. Alm disso, as queimaduras ou manchas pretas
que aparecerem na janela de sada de luz e nos bocais devido
contaminaopodero tornar o tratamento doloroso ou causar
reaes dermatolgicas, como vermelhido ou manchas.
-- Os pelos da pele podem queimar, produzindo um cheiro desagradvel.
2 Remova todos os pelos, limpe, seque e retire qualquer substncia

oleosa da pele (como desodorantes,loes, perfumes, cremes
bronzeadores e protetores solares).
3 Verifique se h fibras, poeira ou pelos presos no aparelho e,
principalmente, na janela de sada de luz. Caso haja qualquer
contaminao, limpe o aparelho de acordo com as instrues no
captuloLimpeza e manuteno.
Notas:
-- Se a sua pele for sensvel, a depilao poder causar feridas e leses e,
eventualmente, voc poder sentir desconforto.
-- Quando os pelos pararem de crescer, o que geralmente ocorre aps
quatro a cinco tratamentos, voc no precisar se depilar antes de usar
o aparelho.
Ajuste da intensidade de luz
O Philips Lumea Precision um aparelho desenvolvido para uso
domstico. Ao contrrio dos aparelhos profissionais base de luz, o Philips
Lumea Precision Plus no causa tantodesconforto.Os pulsos de luz
emitidos pelo Philips Lumea Precision so mais suaves do que os emitidos
por aparelhos profissionais, resultando em um tratamento mais prtico e
eficaz.
Voc deve ajustar a intensidade de luz, de acordo com acor da sua pele,
para um nvel confortvel.
Atabela de intensidades de luz recomendadas abaixo ajudaa estabelecer a
intensidade de luz adequada.
1 Consulte a tabela abaixo para saber quais intensidades de luz so
mais adequadas para a cor da sua pele e dos pelos e saber se esse
mtodo recomendado para voc (caso no seja, esse tratamento
estar marcado com um x na tabela).
2 Cada rea do corpo pode exigir uma intensidade de luz diferente,
de acordo com a tabela de intensidades de luz abaixo. O mtodo
mais eficaz em intensidades maiores, porm voc deve reduzir a
intensidade de luz ao sentir qualquer dor ou desconforto.
Pessoas com peles mais escuras correm maior risco de irritao na
pele, pois a pele escura absorve mais luz. Portanto, recomenda-se usar
intensidades menores em peles mais escuras.
Embora o pulso de luz possa ficar quente sobre a pele, ele no deve

Caso a sua pele tenha sido exposta luz solar natural ou a algum mtodo
de bronzeamento artificial, talvez a pele fique mais escura do que no
tratamento anterior.Verifique a tabela acima para saber quais ajustes so
adequados para a cor da sua pele.
Recomendaes sobre bronzeamento
Exposio luz solar antes do tratamento
-- Aguarde, no mnimo, 48 horas aps a exposio luz solar antes de
usar o aparelho.A luz solar pode escurecer a pele (bronzear) e/ou
causar queimaduras (vermelhido da pele).
-- Aps essas 48 horas, verifique se ainda h queimaduras na pele.
Nouse o Philips Lumea Precision Plus caso ainda haja queimaduras.
-- Quando a queimadura j tiver desaparecido, faa um teste de
pele (consulte o captulo Utilizao do aparelho, seo Primeira
utilizao) na rea em que o tratamento ser feito para determinar a
intensidade de luz apropriada.
-- Caso sua pele esteja bronzeada, faa um teste de pele (consulte
o captulo Utilizao do aparelho, seo Primeira utilizao) na
regio em que o tratamento ser feito para determinar a intensidade
de luz apropriada. Caso contrrio, voc poder desenvolver reaes
dermatolgicas aps o tratamento com o Philips Lumea Precision Plus.
Exposio luz solar aps o tratamento

-- Aguarde, no mnimo, 24 horas aps o tratamento antes de expor as
reas tratadas luz solar. Aps as 24 horas, verifique se a pele no
apresenta mais a vermelhido do tratamento antes de exp-la luz
solar.
-- Ao se expor luz solar, cubra as reas em que o tratamento foi
realizado ou use um protetor solar (30 SPF ou superior) durante as
duas primeiras semanas apso tratamento.
-- Se as reas em que o tratamento foi realizado forem expostas
luz solar sem proteo, o risco de efeitos colateraise reaes
dermatolgicas ser ainda maior. Consulte o captulo Utilizao do

Bronzeamento com luz artificial
-- Siga asinstrues nas sees acima Exposio luz solar antes do
tratamento e Exposio luz solar aps o tratamento.
Bronzeamento com cremes
-- Caso voc tenha usado alguma loo de bronzeamento artificial,
aguarde at que a loo tenha desaparecido completamente antes de
usar o Philips Lumea Precision Plus.
Nota: Para obter mais detalhes sobre reaes dermatolgicas indesejadas,
consulte o captulo Utilizao do aparelho, seo Possveis efeitos colaterais
e reaes dermatolgicas.
Utilizao do aparelho
Consulte atabela de intensidades de luz recomendadas no captulo
Preparao para o uso, seo Ajuste da intensidade de luzpara saber
quais so as intensidades de luz mais adequadas para a cor da sua pele
e dos pelos. Use o aparelho em um ambiente com boa iluminao;
isso reduz a intensidade do flash de luz emitido pelo aparelho. Raspe a
rea em que voc deseja realizar o tratamento antes de usar o aparelho
(consulte o captulo Preparao para o uso, seo Preparao das reas
de tratamento).
Caso o tratamento fique muito doloroso em algum momento, reduza o
ajuste de intensidade da luz at que voc se sinta confortvel novamente.
Ao notar reaes dermatolgicas mais fortes do que uma leve
vermelhido, interrompa o tratamento imediatamente e consulte a seo
Possveis efeitos colaterais e reaes dermatolgicas neste captulo.
Escolher o bocal adequado
-- Bocal para o corpo

O bocal para o corpo pode ser usado para remover pelos indesejados
em todas as reas abaixo do pescoo (para saber quais so as excees,
consulte o captulo Importante, seo Contraindicaes). O bocal para
o corpo pode cobrir uma rea de at 3 cm e ideal para tratar grandes
reas com praticidade.
No use o bocal para o corpo no rosto.
-- Bocal de preciso
O bocal de preciso conta com um filtro de luz integrado extra e pode
ser usado para tratar pelos faciais indesejados no buo, no queixo e
nas costeletas. Alm disso,ele tambm pode ser usado em outras reas
sensveis do corpo, como axilas e virilha ou reas difceis de alcanar.
Nunca use o aparelho ao redor dosolhos ou prximo s sobrancelhas.
Primeira utilizao e teste de pele
1 Escolha o bocal apropriado para a rea em que voc deseja realizar o

tratamento.
2 Escolha uma rea prxima rea em que voc deseja realizar o

tratamento.
Nota: Antes de usar o aparelho no buo, no queixo ou nas costeletas, escolha
uma rea abaixo da orelha, em que no haja pintas e pelos, para fazer o teste
de pele.
3 Pressione o boto liga/desliga para ligar o aparelho.

4 Aplique um flash de luz com a intensidade mais baixa recomendada

para o seu tipo de pele (para obter instrues sobre como emitir
um flash de luz, siga as etapas de 6 a 9 daseo Uso subsequente

5 Contanto que voc continue confortvel(sem sentir dor), aumente
um nvel do ajuste dentro da indicao recomendada para o seu tipo
de pele e aplique um flash de luz para cada ajuste. No aplique mais
que um flash de luz na mesma rea.
6 Aps fazer o teste de pele, aguarde 24 horas e verifique se sua pele
sofreu algumareao. Se sim,escolha o ajuste mais alto (que no
causou reaes dermatolgicas durante o uso).
Ao usar o aparelho pela primeira vez, recomendamos fazer um teste de
pele na rea em que voc deseja realizar o tratamento para ver como sua
pele reage ao tratamento e acostumar-se com o tratamento base de luz.
Uso subsequente
1 Antes de realizar o tratamento, limpe os bocais, a janela de sada

de luz e a armao metlica dentro dos bocais doPhilips Lumea
Precision Plus. Para obter mais informaes, consulte o captulo
Limpeza e manuteno.
2 Escolha o bocal apropriado para a rea em que voc deseja realizar
otratamento.
3 Pressione o botoliga/desliga para ligar o aparelho.
Nota: comum que o aparelho e o bocalesquentem durante o uso.
4 Inicie o tratamento selecionando, cuidadosamente, a intensidade da

luzde acordo com a sensibilidade da sua pele eos resultadosdo
tratamento.
Sua pele pode reagir de diversas formas em diferentes situaes/dias por
vrios motivos. Consulte a seo Possveis efeitos colaterais e reaes
dermatolgicas neste captulo para obter mais informaes.
5 Pressione o boto % paraaumentar aintensidade. Para diminuir a

intensidade, pressione o boto ^.
,, Ao pressionar o boto, a intensidade de luz
correspondentecomear a piscar. Isso leva alguns segundos.
6 Posicione o aparelho em um ngulo de 90 sobre a pele para que o

bocal e o anel de segurana estejam emcontato com a pele.
7 Pressione bem o anel de seguranasobre a pele, exercendo uma leve

presso.
Nota: O anel de segurana possuipontos de contato que funcionam como
osistema de segurana do aparelho. Esse anel de segurana evita que o flash
de luz seja emitido acidentalmente sem estar em contato com a pele.

parte posterior do aparelho acende na cor verde quando todos os
pontos de contato esto em contato com a pele e o dispositivo est
carregado.Isso pode levar at 3,5 segundos.
Dica: Parafacilitar o uso,estique a rea da pele em que voc deseja realizar
o tratamento. Em reas em que a pele mais macia, talvez seja necessrio
exercer mais pressono aparelho para pressionar todos os pontos de contato.
8 Pressione o boto de emisso do flash de luz para emitir um flash.

Nota: A luz emitida pelo aparelho o reflexo da luz na pele e no prejudicial
aos olhos. No necessrio colocar culos durante o uso.
9 Quando o aparelho emitir o flash de luz, solte o boto.
10 Para emitir outro flash de luz, repita as etapas de6 a 9. Aps emitir
um flash, demoraat 3,5 segundos para que o aparelho possa emitir
outro.
No repita o tratamento na mesma rea durante uma sesso. Isso
no torna o tratamento mais eficaz, e sim aumenta o risco de reaes
dermatolgicas.
11 Para evitar que algumas reas fiquem sem tratamento, sempre
verifique seh sobreposio na rea que j foi tratada ao
posicionar o aparelho sobre a pele. A luz emitida somente pela
janela de sada de luz.Verifique se os flashes de luz esto sendo
emitidosprximosuns dos outros.
12 Desligue o aparelho aps terminar o tratamento.
13 Verifique se h pelos ou sujeira na janela de sada de luz e nobocal
e limpe o aparelho aps o uso (consulte o captulo Limpeza e
manuteno).

sensveis que outras reas do corpo. Ao exercer muita fora nessas reas com
o aparelho, a pele pode ficar mais suscetvel a reaes dermatolgicas., como

bocal na pele para ativar a luz indicadora de que o flash est pronto para ser
emitido (no exera muita fora).
Dica: O aparelho pode deixarmarcasnas reas da pele em que otratamento

Ao usar o aparelho para tratar a perna inteira, talvez seja necessrio
recarregar o aparelho durante o uso. Isso comum. O tempo estimado

Uso do aparelho na virilha

Uso do aparelho nas axilas

e da luz indicadora de que o flash est pronto para uso. Levante o brao e
coloque a mo no pescoo para esticar a pele da axila. Dessa forma, voc
conseguir pressionar o anel de segurana com mais facilidade sobre a pele,
simplificando a realizao do tratamento.

Uso do aparelho no rosto (buo, queixo e costeletas)
quais so os ajustes adequados para seu rosto (buo, queixo e costeletas).
Para depilar o buo, o queixo e as costeletas, sempre use o bocal
de preciso. Nunca use o aparelho ao redordos olhos ou prximo
s sobrancelhas. Ao realizar o tratamento no buo, no queixo ou nas
sobrancelhas,tenha cuidado para no expor o rosto luz solar nas 24
horas aps o tratamento. Aplique um protetor solar (SPF 30+) aps o
tratamento durante as duas prximas semanas ao expor o rosto luz solar
direta.
Dica: Para obter o resultado esperado na regio do buo, do queixo e das
costeletas, fique em frente a um espelho para ter uma boa viso da regio
em que o tratamento ser realizado e da luz indicadora de que o flash est
pronto para ser emitido.
Dica: Aplique uma grossa camada delpis branco nos lbios e no contorno.
Essa linha branca evitar que o flash de luzseja refletido no seu lbio, mesmo
que acidentalmente.
Dica: Devido aos contornos da mandbula, talvez seja difcil colocar o anel
de segurana na pele para emitir o flash de luz. Coloque sua lngua entre os
dentes e o buo ou infle as bochechas para facilitar o tratamento.

Como obter os melhores resultados

Etapa de manuteno
-- Para garantir que a pele fique sempre macia e sem pelos, recomenda-
se repetir o tratamento a cada quatro a cinco semanas. O tempo
entre os tratamentos pode variar dependendo da pessoa e das
reas do corpo em que o tratamento realizado. Caso muitos pelos
cresam entre os tratamentos, basta diminuir novamente o intervalo
entre os tratamentos. No realize o tratamento na mesma rea por
at duas semanas. Ao usar o aparelho com mais frequncia do que o
recomendado, voc no aumenta a eficcia do aparelho, mas sim o
risco de reaes dermatolgicas.
Possveis efeitos colaterais e reaes dermatolgicas
Reaes dermatolgicas comuns:
-- Sua pele pode apresentar uma leve vermelhido e/ou formigamento/
ficar quente. Essa reao no prejudicial e desaparece rapidamente.
-- Uma reao dermatolgica semelhante a uma queimadura pode
ocorrer na rea em que o tratamento foi realizado por pouco tempo.
Caso ela no desaparea em at trs dias, consulte um mdico.
-- O ressecamento e a coceira da pele podem ocorrer devido
combinao entre a depilao e o tratamento base de luz. Isso no
prejudicial e desaparece em poucos dias. Voc pode esfriar a rea
com um aplicador de gelo ou uma toalha de rosto. Caso sua pele
continue ressecada, voc pode aplicar um hidratante na rea em que o
tratamento foi realizado 24 horas aps o ltimo tratamento.
Efeitos colaterais raros
-- Queimaduras, vermelhido excessiva e inchao: essas reaes ocorrem
raramente. Elas podem ocorrer quando voc usa uma intensidade
de luz alta demais para a cor da sua pele. Caso essas reaes no
desapaream em at 3 dias, consulte um mdico. Aguarde o prximo
tratamento at que a pele esteja completamente curada e lembre-se
de usar uma intensidade de luz mais baixa.
-- Manchas na pele: ocorrem muito raramente. As manchas na pele se
manifestam quando so mais escuras (hiperpigmentao) ou mais
claras (hipopigmentao) do que a regio ao redor. Isso ocorre quando
voc usa uma intensidade de luz muito alta para a cor da sua pele.
Caso as manchas no desapaream em at duas semanas, consulte um
mdico. No realize o tratamento nas regies manchadas at que as
manchas desapaream e a cor de sua pele volte ao normal.
-- Infeco e inflamao na pele: ocorrem muito raramente e podem ser
provocadas pelo uso do aparelho sobre feridas ou cortes causados
pela depilao em machucados ou pelos encravados.
-- Dor excessiva: pode ocorrer durante ou aps o tratamento caso voc
tenha usado o aparelho na pele no depilada, em uma intensidade de
luz alta demais para a cor da sua pele, na mesma rea mais de uma vez
ou em feridas abertas, inflamaes, infeces, tatuagens, queimaduras

Aps o uso
-- No aplique cosmticos perfumados nas reas em que o tratamento
foirecentemente realizado.
-- No use desodorante logo aps depilar as axilas. Aguarde at que o
vermelhido na pele tenha desaparecido por completo.

Limpeza e manuteno
Para garantir os melhores resultados e vida til longa do aparelho, limpe-

o aps o uso e, se necessrio, durante o tratamento. O aparelho perder
a eficinciase voc no limp-lo corretamente.
No limpe o aparelho ou as peas em gua corrente nem coloque na
lava-louas.
Nunca use palhas de ao, agentes de limpeza abrasivos ou lquidos
agressivos, como querosene ou acetona, para limpar o aparelho.
No arranhe ajanela de sada de luznem a armao metlicadentro
dosbocais.
Nota:Verifique se os pontos de contatodo anel de segurana no esto
obstrudos com sujeira.
Nota: Pare de usar o aparelho quando no for mais possvel limpar a janela de

1 Desligue o aparelho, desconecte-o da tomada e deixe esfriar.

4 Se necessrio, limpe a parte externa do aparelho com o pano de
limpeza seco e macio fornecido com o aparelho.
Armazenamento
1 Desligue o aparelho,desconecte-o da tomada e deixe esfriar.

2 Limpe o aparelho antes de guard-lo.
3 Coloque o aparelho na caixa ou no estojo fornecido.
4 Guarde o aparelho em um local seco em uma temperatura
entre 0 C e 60 C.
