Dear Mr. Asim Siddiqui,

I am a second year Chemical Engineering with Management student at the University of Edinburgh and
am writing to apply for a potential investment banking internship for Summer 2017. Like most applicants,
I have an overzealous interest in finance and investments, however I am confident that what sets me apart
are my amassed skills coupled with my unique background.

I am drawn to JS Bank for its extensive work and investments in Pakistan. Further, the firm operates and
advises to companies in many sectors closely linked to the field of chemical engineering, such as energy,
fertilizers and polymers.

As you will note from my resume attached, I previously held internship positions at Javed Private Ltd and
Byco Petroleum, both Pakistani engineering and petroleum firms. At Javed Private Limited, I served as
assistant to the both the Managing Director and Chief Marketing Officer. Working under demanding
superiors in a fast-paced environment required me to explore new industrial sectors in which products can
be sold and develop new relationships with customers. This allowed me to develop excellent
organizational skills and a particular appreciation for precision. I have grown accustom to thrive under
pressure and work quickly, all with a close attention to fine detail. At Byco Petroleum, I worked in the
inspection, oil movement, mechanical, electrical, logistic and administration departments. Through these
internships, I have not only sharpened my analytical and mathematical acumen but also further developed
my ability to work in a team environment and manage projects from start to finish. Additionally, my
experiences at these firms have qualified me to value the importance of professionalism and organization
skills in a fast-paced environment. Overall, both internships were incredibly enlightening experiences.

Additionally, I have completed courses in private equity and venture capital, and am currently taking
financial engineering and risk management courses online. With JS Bank, I would like to continue
building a foundation and insight into finance.

I have recently started a course to learn Mandarin since China has decided to invest around $57 billion in
Pakistan under China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) and many Chinese firms are interested in
working with Pakistani companies to develop infrastructure and energy projects. So, by relating with not
only them but their culture, I feel it would be beneficial for me and any future business practices that I
have, that I speak their language.

I strongly believe that I am an ideal match for this position, and would greatly appreciate the opportunity
