above79%ofthebiscuitsaremanufacturedbythesmallscalesectorofbakeryindustrycomprising
bothfactoryandnonfactoryunitsinthecountry.Theproductioncapacityofwaferbiscuitsis60MT
andthecostisRs.56,78,400withamotivepowerof25K.W.Indianbiscuitindustryhasoccupiedaround5560%oftheentirebakery
production.TodaythelargescalebakerymanufacturerslikeCadbury,Nestle,andBrookebondhadtradedinthebiscuitindustrybut
couldn'thitthemarketbecauseofthelocalcompaniesthatproducedonlybiscuits.GovernmenthasestablishedTheFederationofBiscuit
ManufacturersofIndia(FBMI)whichhasconfirmedabrightfutureofIndiaBiscuitsIndustryintheyear1953.AccordingtoFBMI,a
steadygrowthof15%perannuminthenext10yearswillbeachievedbythebiscuitindustryofIndia.Besides,theexportofbiscuitswill
alsosurpassthetargetandhittheglobalmarketsuccessfully.
