About Us
S
uits USA, Inc. was created in 1993 by
a young woman, Laura Moore, who
grew up in Washington, D.C. and
came to Duke University in Durham, NC
for her education. After leaving Duke she
contemplated becoming a lawyer or doctor
but took some time out from her education.
Laura had several talents. She was a
wonderful seamstress and also, as a hobby,
had been racing her own Formula car for
years. During those racing years she had a
problem finding racing suits that fit well so
she began making her own. After a lot of
research, she realized she needed protective
fabric & decided DuPont Nomex IIIA was
the answer.
Many of the local racers in NC began
coming to Laura for their driver suits
and in 1993 she created Suits USA, Inc.,
a company that manufactured custom
uniforms for rescue crews & racers.
This evolved into a very successful small
business whose customer base is now
mainly helicopter EMS & rescue crews
which are located all over the USA. Suits
USA, Inc. has grown and evolved from
Lauras original creation and is still serving
with the same proud legacy of providing
meaningful employment in its hometown
of Mount Airy, North Carolina.

Flight Suits
Our standard Flight Suit is compatible to
military styling with 10 pockets. Flight suits
come standard with one sleeve pocket, two
breast pockets, two front hands pockets,
two calf pockets, velcro wrists and zippered
ankles and three Flightsuit thigh pockets.
But you have the option to customize by
substituting or changing pockets, usually
at no extra charge. Our Flight Suits have
roomy, pleated action backs, epaulets, front
leg zippers which allow you to adjust fit of
ankle to your needs, and 2 belt with velcro
closure (as well as velcro closure on sleeves).

We offer many custom pockets and have

designed pockets to suit our customers
needs upon their request. If you want a
special patch, embroidery, striping just call
our customer service and find out that we
really do provide full custom services.

Well Made

All seams are sewn with heavy duty thread

and over- locked to prevent unraveling
under extreme conditions. Nomex suits are
made with all Nomex zippers and sewn
with Nomex thread.

EMS Suits
Quick access EMS suits come standard with
9 pockets including one sleeve pocket, two
breast pockets, two front hands pockets,
two calf pockets, velcro wrists, zippered
ankles and two EMS thigh pockets. The
EMS equipment thigh pockets allow you
to have quick access to scissors, pen lights,
hemostats, etc. You also have the option
to customize by substituting or changing
pockets. Many of our customers ask for
the pleated EMS thigh pocket that bellows
to add room but is not as bulky as a cargo
pocket. Our EMS suits have roomy, pleated
action backs, epaulets, back leg zippers,
which allow you to adjust fit of ankle to
your needs, and 2 wide belt with velcro
closure (as well as a velcro closure on the
sleeves).
Our EMS suits are available in three great
fabrics: 6 oz. DuPont Nomex IIIA, 5.8 oz
Tecasafe Plus by Tencate and 7.5 oz. Poly/
Cotton Twill by Carr Textile.

DuPont Nomex IIIA
Protective apparel of NOMEX IIIA resists
hazards associated with exposure to ash
res, including intense heat and ame. Thats
because NOMEX IIIA is an inherently
ame resistant, high-temperature ber
that wont melt and drip, burn or support
combustion in air. And, this protection is
PERMANENT, it cannot be washed out or
worn away.
In a ash-re situation, a matter of seconds
can mean the dierence between minor
burns and life-threating injuries. Nomex
IIIA provides valuable seconds of protection
for escape, minimizing the potential for
burn injury.
On average, garments of NOMEX IIIA
last three to five times longer than most
other standard and protective fabrics.
In fact, industrial launderers estimate
that the average wear life of garments of
NOMEX IIIA is five years, and that they
can be washed and worn at least 125 times,
depending on the end-use environment

Poly/Cotton Twill
We offer all our suits, pants and jackets in
65% Poly/35% Cotton twill fabric. This is
a Carr Textile fabric that is preshrunk to
2-3%.
Tecasafe Plus by Tencate
An alternative to standard NOMEX IIIA
Tecasafe Plus offers an affordably priced
protective fabric designed for protection,
comfort and durability. Call for more
information and samples of the fabric.
TenCate Tecasafe Plus is engineered to
provide unbeatable electric arc and flash
fire protection that lasts twice as long as FR
treated cotton fabrics. The fabrics inherent
protection will never wash or wear out.
Our Guarantee
We guarantee zippers, seams and velcro
for 1 year on all our Poly/Cotton suits.
On our NOMEX products we guarantee
zippers and seams for the life of the suit
under normal conditions. All of our
protective fabric suits are made with
NOMEX thread and zippers.
