Qualification to FIBA Womens Basketball World Cup 2018

The 18th edition of FIBA Womens World Cup will take place in Spain from 22-30 September 2018, with the host cities
to be revealed in June 2017.
It will bring together the 16 best teams from across FIBAs four regions - Africa, Americas, Asia/Oceania and Europe. Whilst
defending champions USA and hosts Spain have already booked their place, the remaining 14 teams will be decided in
the summer of 2017 through the Womens Continental Cups.
Five European teams will punch their ticket via FIBA EuroBasket Women 2017. Should Spain finish amongst the top five
teams, the sixth-placed team will also secure a spot.
The field will be completed by the top three teams from the FIBA Womens AmeriCup (7-13 August); the two finalists
from the FIBA Womens AfroBasket (18-27 August); as well as the first four teams from the FIBA Womens Asia Cup 23-29
July), which will see teams from Oceania and Asia compete together for the first time ever.
