SPPID Work Procedure

1 Introduction

1.1 Purpose

The intent of this document is to provide the procedure for using SmartPlant P&ID (SPPID) in
the detailed engineering phase of the EKOL Accommodation Platform Topside & Bridges
project.

1.2 References

The SPPID Queries revisions used in preparing this work procedure are:
SPPID Queries 13Sep
SPPID Queries B 04Oct
SPPID Queries C 15Nov
SPPID Queries D 07Dec
SPPID Queries E (current working copy)

Additional company references include:

TCD 2169 COPENS
TCD 4314 DFO

1.3 Software Version

SPPID software version used is 06.00.00.32 (v2009 SP2).

1.4 Deliverables and Exclusions

1.4.1 P&IDs

SPPID will be used to create Process P&IDs (discipline code U) and Safety P&IDs (discipline
code F), as discussed in TQ SMO-EKOL-Q-0054. Sanitary P&IDs (discipline code H) and HVAC
P&IDs (discipline code H) will be created in AutoCAD.

1.4.2 Line List

02
SPPID will hold most of the data required in DFO. The first version of the Line List will be
generated from SPPID as Excel spreadsheet, and data from Piping and Tagging will be
manually entered into the spreadsheet. Some of the data from Piping will be entered into
SPPID. The final Line List will be delivered as an Excel spreadsheet. [HOLD for confirmation]

1.4.3 Process Datasheets

As discussed in SPPID query #11, Process Datasheets will be prepared totally in the
conventional way of MS Excel and will not be generated from SPPID.

*1 Symbols on drawing sketch has to follow General Legend EKOL-SMO-U-16000-001

through EKOL-SMO-U-16006-001, which has been produced based on Legend of
Process Symbols BD01-PP-U-00011-001 through BD01-PP-U-00011-016. Line
numbering structure has to comply with COPENS.
*2 Line data fields provided has to follow DFO requirements of Line List. Not all fields
required in DFO will be shown on the first version of the Line List. Data from Piping and
Tagging will be combined to form Line List (DFO standard). [HOLD for confirmation]

3 General

3.1 Software and Data Access

Only administrators/users who are working on this project will have SmartPlant P&ID installed
on their computer.

3.2 Drive Mapping

Map Y: drive (preferred) as \\smoenas6\spf\sppid for easy folder access.

3.3 Project Directory Structure

Plant Structure = EKOL

Plant Group = System group 1, 2, 3 etc, where each system group is sub-divided into systems

P&IDs are grouped under the various systems. Refer to Master Document Register.

4 Project Tagging Convention

4.1 Equipment

Equipment tag number has the following format:

<category code><space><5 digit sequence number>

e.g. 67 12345 (for pump)

Where alpha prefix is applicable, the equipment tag number is:

<category code><space><alpha prefix><-><5 digit sequence number>

e.g. 05 FA-12345 (for fan-blower)

Refer to COPENS for the list of equipment category codes and alpha prefix.

4.2 Instrument

Instrument tag number has the following format:

<category code><space><alpha prefix><-><5 digit sequence number>

e.g. 43 PI-03406 (for PI)
91 HCV-02908 (for HCV)
93 PSV-12345 (for PSV)

Refer to COPENS for the list of equipment category codes and alpha prefix.

4.3 Piping Components

4.3.1 Manual Valves

Manual valves with nominal diameter 2 and above in size have to be tagged. Manual valves
with nominal diameter below 2 do not have to be tagged, unless the valve is classified as
critical for operation or safety integrity.

Manual valves are tagged according to <category code><space><5-digit sequence number>

Category code = 87
Sequence Number = 00001 to 99999, sub-range has been allocated according to service

4.3.2 Piping Specialities

Category code 61 is used for piping specialities e.g. flexible hose and injection point.

4.3.3 Flanges
02
In order to easily identify which pipe each flange belongs to, the tag number of the flange shall
be the same as the tag number of the equipment it belongs to, with a suffix of -FLxx, where xx
represents a sequence number.

Flanges are tagged according to:

<system number><-><line sequence number><-FL><flange sequence number>
e.g. 010-001-FL01

[HOLD requirement to show flange tag on P&ID is not clear from COPENS Rev 12. However,
flange tag may need to be captured in database. It can be done by keying in 010-001-FL01 at
TagSequenceNo. Place Tag No (\Labels\Piping Segment), if necessary to be confirmed]
