Review of Related Literature

Introduction

This chapter consists of information extracted from studies and literature, both local

and foreign from which this particular study is premise. This will certainly help in giving

the reader a better understanding of the proposed business and how the proponents used

this; a Fashion industry that is eco-friendly can contributes sustainable goods. Society is a

goal at this point, and certainly the relationship is not yet harmonious. This industry can

be environmentally active and contribute to our society more than just economically.

Women are excite about new fashion and are willing to spend money on it and so the

industry has to help women understand that power behind upcycling. There is both

fashion and cause opportunity. Eco-fashion is where the environmental movement, the

fashion industry, and market overlap. The problem is furthermore exacerbated by the

speed of fashion trend turnover, servicing the twin demand for creativity and profit.

Local Studies

A lot of love, thought, and sweat goes into creating collection for kids, which caters to

keen girls and young ladies (Velasco, 2015) according to the style weekend, 2015;

exclusively, quality, good design and great fit is what keeps clients coming back time and

time again.

Today, the bags are not only found to be a legal and environment trend, but also a

fashion trend. Reusable shopping bags manufacturers are adding many customizations

that allow people to display their personality with their bags. As the years continue, it is

estimated the upward trend in reusable shopping bag use will remain strong. (Bing, 2010)

Foreign Studies

The current movement to capture throwaway clothing and remake it into different

fashionable, wearable piece of clothing with greater value is called upcycling. (Thomas,

2008) although some authors have called it a trend, others consider it a movement that is

here to stay. In the book of Fashion and Sustainability (fletcher and Grose, 2012) define

upcycling as adding value through thoughtful reclamation.

If clothing is a necessity, fashion is a luxury hopefully to be elegant enjoyed. The

elegance in recycling comes from skillful upcycling, not the hippie pieced fashions

from the 60s, but beautifully designed fashion. This is not just about recycled clothes but

about fashion, the luxury we have to enjoy a trend and to update our look as often we

like, yet still elect to protect our resources. But even more, its about recycling to add

value and uniqueness by the resulting one-of-a-kind design. (McDonough and Braingart,

2013)

According to Birtwistle and Moore (2007), consumers have guilt feelings when

disposing of expensive items. Cheaper clothes get worn out more quickly and are more

easily thrown away. Birtwistle and Moore (2007) commented that they found consumers

had a little interest in ethical and social concerns, and that they knew about large

quantities of clothing being produced. Eco-fashion must have all the same qualities as

regular fashion, according to Sandy Black (2008). Design is what draws us in including

the combinations of colors, textures, the hand of the fabric, styling the silhouette, all of

these things make the visual experience, coupled with how it makes us feel and look

when we put it on. (Black, 2008)

Hanging pot racks are the most common type of pot racks. Hanging pot racks need to

be installed into ceiling joists. They usually come with chains or extension hooks, or

hanging links and ceiling screws. Hanging pot racks are normally sold with hooks that

can be positioned on the rim or on the grid. Pots and pans can be hung directly from the

grid or from the rim using these hooks. Grids can be many shapes, but the most common

are rectangular, round, or oval. Hanging pot racks come in various heights. There are

three measurements needed in order to install a hanging pot rack. First is the reaching

height or the height where it is comfortable for a person to reach. Most people want to

hang a pot rack at a comfortable reaching height. This height is usually about one foot

above the height of a person's head and this is where the pots should be located. The

second measurement needed is the height of the ceiling. The third measurement is the

height of the pot rack with the hooks. The height of the ceiling minus the reaching height

is the required height of the pot rack and chains. (Charles, 2008)

GAP in the Present Study

Fashion is an art form that recycles itself. For example, this past season the eighties

strong shoulder came back but it war modernized, during the eighties shoulder pads were

out into every garment imaginable and most of the times those garments were boxy and

shapeless. Today that trend was translated into seek fitted sheath dresses and tailored

suits. It almost game some garments a futuristic appearance.

As the times goes by, fashion changes, it dynamic characteristic shows how the

evolution of fashion is taking place. Cutting fabrics is already part of the fashion world;

its just that it became a great tool in fashion in the early 2000s wherein it is used to

come up with a trendy design.
