covering butterflies, space, animals, Earth, nature and the environment. Attended parent conferences, displayed
student artwork throughout the school, designed PowerPoint presentation of students engaged in work for school
conferences, and organized several art contests for students to participate in the community.

Hempstead High School 2002-2003

2D/3D Art Specialist
Instructed 40 high school students in 2 Dimensional and 3 Dimensional Art perspectives. Directed students in
artwork of the past and present as well as the principles of design using a variety of materials, processes and
techniques. Projects taught included still life, portrait and landscape drawings, painting, printmaking, ceramics,
metalsmithing and sculptures.

Bryant Elementary School 2001-2002

Art Specialist
Taught General Art to 300 students in grades 2-6. Instructed students in basic art elements including: color, value,
line, shape, form, texture and space. Worked closely with classroom teachers to design cross curriculum units
covering bats, forest, Native Americans, leaves, sea life, Elvis and the human body. Invited guest artist into the
school to share their talents, provided weekly progress reports for teachers, students and parents, and performed
chaperone duties for school groups.

Substitute Teacher
Presented instruction in accordance with the established lesson planned by each classroom teacher in grades K-12 in
various subject areas. Maintained a well-disciplined and positive classroom environment while upholding school
guidelines.

Responsibilities included: paging, categorizing and labeling all art used onto computer data base, coloring, sizing
and generating hard copies of all artwork, and proofreading designs. Work done using both IBM and MAC
computers and technology.

Taught Art Education to students in grades 9-12. Instructed students in the study of Art history, jewelry making,
stained glass, ceramics, computer design and graphics, drawing and abstract art. Displayed student art work
throughout the high school, promoted art show with local media interviews, coordinated a Holiday Card contest
where student artwork would be displayed in the community and arranged prize donations through those area
businesses. Attended faculty and district meetings, graded students and co-advised the high school art club with
projects.

family business. Developed and designed website. Edit and design graphics used in publicity of the Potosi
Brewery.
