Singer/guitarist Barbara Lynn was a rare commodity during her heyday. Not only
Track Listing: was she a female instrumentalist (one of the very first to hit the charts), but she
also played left-handed -- quite well at that -- and even wrote some of her own
material. Lynn's music often straddled the line between blues and Southern R&B.
This set presents a good picture of a versatile soul-blues singer on top of her
form. Much of her early work -- including the number one R&B hit "You'll Lose a
Good Thing" -- was recorded in New Orleans, under the supervision of
producer/impresario Huey P. Meaux, aka the Crazy Cajun. In 1966, Lynn started
recording for Meaux's Tribe label full time and cut "You Left the Water Running,"
which became something of an R&B standard and was covered by the likes of Otis
22 Song compilation of greatest hits Redding. “Sugar Coated Love” also become another big Gulf Coast hit. In
and Outtakes! addition to showcasing some of her own material, the set features Lynn renditions
of such hits as The Casinos' “Then You Can Tell Me Goodbye” and Hank Williams'
timeless “I'm So Lonesome I Could Cry.” There are also four alternate takes of
some of her best known tunes, such as 'I'm a Good Woman', 'Nice and Easy' and
'You Left the Water Running'. Just sit back and enjoy the work of this vastly
underrated artist from the fertile Gulf Coast!

In late 2008, after gaining a solid reputation in Denver for playing crushing live
shows that were nothing short of a sonic assault, Black Sleep of Kali traveled to
Track Listing: Salt Lake City, Utah, to record a Demo EP with Andy Paterson (Iota, Ascend). Five
songs were recorded and self-released to very positive reviews. Shortly after
recording the EP, Carpenter decided he wanted to pursue a different musical
path and left the band. Without skipping a beat, Gordonʼs old friend, and friend of
the band, Patrick Alberts stepped in to fill Carpentersʼ shoes on guitar. Alberts
brought a new energy, and technical focus the band had previously lacked, and
an onslaught of creativity and writing ensued.

Since the beginning of DARKANE ( and long before that ) we’ve always brought a video
camera when recording in a studio or playing live, always with the intention to someday
show it to whoever wants to take a look into the world of DARKANE. During the early
years we had a quite old and bad VHS cam recorder, so some of the videos are not
very good quality, yet its very cool to show you what the first DARKANE show looked
like, and the bigger festivals and tours weve done over the years together with other

DARKANE spends most of its time. Weve also cut down about 20 hours of studio

Christian Fennesz, David Daniell and Tony Buck (The Necks) are three of the most
recognized and respected players in experimental music from around the globe.
Track Listing: In 2009 the Big Ears Festival in Knoxville, TN brought the three together and
encouraged them to collaborate at the festival. The aptly named Knoxville
documents the results of that first collaboration. Recorded on February 7th, 2009,

collective energies into a darkly atmospheric piece of music that ebbs and flows

Following an Irish immigrant carpenter from coastal Queens to the Catskills and

between the idea of a thing and the thing itself. Having set off to the New York
countryside to construct a reproduction of the earliest of American cape houses,
the protagonist (Colm OʼLeary) finds himself overcome by an inexplicable fatigue.
Debts and expectations mount alongside the crudest and most naive of
deceptions, that of both self and of family. As the chasm grows the Builder finds
himself confronted by the unnerving ambivalence of the world around him.

A subtle, contemplative rendering reminiscent of the films of John Cassavetes

and The Dardenne Brothers, The Builder is the first full-length feature directed by
R. Alverson, a carpenter and musician from Richmond, VA. It features music by
Bon Iver, Gregor Samsa, Pan American, Robert Donne and Spokane (Alverson
and co-producer Courtney Bowlesʼ band, who have released 5 records on
Jagjaguwar since 1999). Alversonʼs second feature, New Jerusalem, starring Will
Oldham (Bonnie “Price” Billy) and The Builderʼs Colm OʼLeary, was completed in
late winter of 2010.

Initially conjured by COBALT multi-instrumentalist Erik Wunder when residing in Colorado (which was also
the official birthplace of COBALT), MAN’S GIN initially started out by Erik Wunder and a friend who
gathered their acoustic guitars to create woeful songs of despair and loneliness in tribute to the drink itself
Track Listing: with music to drown one’s sorrows with. The result of this vision ended up as a small collection called “The
Rum Demos”, recorded many years ago (much before COBALT’s heralded “Gin” album was even finished
its writing process) on homegrown recording equipment. These demos were pretty much circulated
amongst the small circle of friends Wunder surrounded himself with.

There had always been songs intended for MAN’S GIN within Wunder’s musical repertoire but the time
came for Wunder to expand the MAN’S GIN sound even further, this time by acquiring two more musicians
to help bring the MAN’S GIN sound to the next level (by adding grand piano and upright bass) while Wunder
began to bring in electric guitars alongside the acoustic guitars and adding drums to the MAN’S GIN song
blueprint. Now the sound became complete.
1. Smiling Dogs Nonetheless MAN’S GIN’s sound is not metal, but more or less good ol’ Americana singer-songwriter stuff,
2. Free almost as if COBALT’s sound was transformed into a singer-songwriter vibe and had its metal entirely
3. Stone On My Head stripped away from it. MAN’S GIN’s sound is very reminiscent of the likes of such luminary acts as
WOVEN HAND, NICK CAVE & THE BAD SEEDS (think “Henry’s Dream” era), the more acoustic side of
4. Solid Gold Telephone ALICE IN CHAINS, and even reminiscent of musicians such as JOHNNY CASH and TOM WAITS and
5. Nuclear Ambition Pt. 1 bands like DRIVE BY TRUCKERS and 16 HORSEPOWER.

With one of the most cult followings in death metal today, Australiaʼs STARGAZER,
