AIMS
By the end of the lesson the S will be able to:
- to improve recognition of the zero, first, second and third conditional forms
- to use the structures in conditional statements,
- to review the structures

MATERIALS: flipchart, large sheets of paper, blackboard, worksheets, laptop, video projector,

ANTICIPATED PROBLEMS:
- some students might need further help and extra indications in solving the tasks and they may
also need some of these indications to be given in Romanian;
-some students might feel nervous and reluctant to participate in the activity, so they may need
more encouragement.
Warm Up
Aim:
-to create a relaxed and pleasant atmosphere
Procedure: -T greets the S and ask about their mood. T checks homework.
Timing:5 min

Activity 1: Lead-in
Aim:
-to activate students interest on the lesson;
Procedure: T pins on the flipchart a large sheet of paper with a crossword. S have to write the
past participle form of the verbs from 1 to 13. After that the S must find the hidden words. if
conditional.
T announces the title and the objectives of the lesson
Timing: 7 min.
Interaction: T-S, whole class

Activity 2: Presentation & Practice


Aim:
- to identify and revise the structures for the conditional clauses.
-to prepare students for the next stage of the lesson
Procedure: T divides the class into four groups. Each group receive a large sheet of paper with
a conditional sentence written on. Each group have to identify the conditional type and to write
the structure below. After that they pin the paper on the blackboard. A student from each group
presents the result and the rest of the class corrects if necessary.
T reminds the S that there are four types of conditional sentences. T uses a PPT.

Timing:10 min
Interaction: T-S, group work, whole class

Activity 3: Practice
Aim:- to practice conditionals
-to use the structures in conditional statements
Procedure: For the next stage of the lesson T continues presenting the PPT . After revising each
conditional sentence S have to solve some exercises presented on the PPT. T asks the S to read
the correct form and to write it on the blackboard. The task is continued until the exercises end.
The rest of the S have to write the sentences on their notebooks.
T distributes to S a worksheet. S have to match the conditionals sentences. Then the S have to
read the correct conditional sentence. The rest of the students agree or disagree. Correction is
done if necessary. (appendix 1).

Activity 4: Production
Aim:
- to use the structures in conditional statements
Procedure: T asks S to work in pairs. Each pair has to continue the sentences to make
conditional sentences type 1 and 2. Each pair presents the result to the rest of the class. T gives
the necessary information and helps S if necessary. (appendix 2)
Timing: 6 min
Interaction: T-S, pair work

Evaluation: 1 min. T grade the most active students.


Homework assignment: 1 min S have to solve the exercise from the worksheets. (appendix 3)
