Shelby Schlinke-Introduction Letter-10/5/16

Welcome!
Dear Parent(s) or Guardian(s),

Let me introduce myself. I am a graduate of the University of Houston-Victoria with a Bachelor of

Arts in Psychology, and I am looking forward to being your child's ___ grade teacher! This year
will be an exciting time for all of us. We will study vocabulary, literature, math, writing, science,
social studies, and study skills in preparation for the successful completion of the STAAR test,
next spring. I have planned many activities throughout the course of the year that are designed
to help your child flourish academically, not just this year but also in their future.

There will be homework assignments almost every night. You should expect to see your child
spending about twenty minutes reviewing, reading, working on projects, studying, or writing
short essays. Students will also be assigned a daily planner in which they are expected to write
down assignments to help with homework organization.

I have attached some things you and your child may want to know about our class this year.
Please read through them and think of any questions you may have at Meet the Teacher on
August __, 2017.

If you ever have questions, please feel free to email me at sschlinke@school.net or call me at the
school. Our number is 888-888-8888.

I am excited to begin working with my new students this year. I am also looking forward to
meeting you and working with you to help your child excel this year.

Best wishes,

Shelby Schlinke
